It has always bothered me how hard PJ works and how little reward he gets from it. Honestly, he deserves way more subscribers.
^^
+Jules is not real I totally agree
I wholeheartedly agree
AGREE
Right
People say this EVERY time, but he's so creative and so underrated it hurts.
RIGHT??
+TheGraceOfEbonee trust me, PJ is going to do great things. He already has proven himself to really think outside the box, and THOSE are the kind of people who are most successful. Gah, he's just so great. I'm always inspired after I watch any video of his.
veronicadeebee Agreed, and same honey.
When I see content like this, it makes me sad that I live in a world where people who put zero effort or creativity into their videos and just do stuff for popularity have more subscribers and get more appreciation than people like Pj. Thank you so so so much for staying true to yourself and your content. You're a creative forve of nature.
force*
+Undercover Dragon animation channels.... ;(
Lina Beana ASMR
preeeeeetty sure that's watercolour paper, peej haha
dammit
LMAO
+PJTheKick Welp, at least you tried.
these are the best part of main channel uploads
yeas
First I was like oh he painted his background green for greenscreen but noooooo he went the goddamn peej way
the most creative and under appreciated youtuber
Without a doubt.
Don't get too exited but... We have the same printer
I laughed at this and I don't know why
CAn I ask what kind it is? I like the looks of it
there's something about your videos that make me feel capable of doing great things??? like they're not just amazingly inspirational they're also motivational in a way I love them all thanks for yourself
Ohhhhhhhh.....alright
?
I just spent this whole video with wide eyes whispering 'that's so cool'
Emily Pickup same
Me before watching Space Kid: Uh, okay, i gotta work
After: HOLY SHIT WHERE'S MY GRAPHIC TABLET LET'S BE CREATIVE RIGHT NOW
I would relate if I had a graphic tablet to be creative with :')
the most creative youtuber I know
I like understanding the magic! Thank for explaining PJ!
I really hope one day peej gets all recognition he deserves. He is one of the most creative and amazing minds I've ever come across and I just wish the whole world could see what he does and appreciate him for the incredible artist he is
I get so inspired whenever i watch your bts videos, you truly have a passion for art and film making.
PJ is the only youtuber who ACTUALLY like INSPIRES me to do things! Watching these makes me wanna get a drawing tablet and learn editing and stuff and make cool videos like this just to show my friends and stuff cause I have loads of quirky little film ideas like this and watching pj do these JUST GETS ME SO PUMPED
+Brigid Slevin Maybe you should check out SawyerHartman he does really cool stuff too.
I'm so grateful that you upload behind the scenes video with so much detail. Currently I'm an illustration first year student and I'm just starting to dabble in animation and other stuff of the like and your videos are so helpful when I'm experimenting with techniques, thanks again!
pj ligouri, you are a f****** beautiful human
I REALLY want to be like PJ
same here! :D
"this was a challenge"
the next youtube challenge: the projector challenge
+Mylou Joores woah, that would actually be a real challenge to some youtubers who normally don't think about the way of producing (this is not ment to be a rude comment... please don't get me wrong...)
That man on the bench was probably you from the future...
i just realized how amazing his eyes are like woah
+Josie Online his creativity
Everybody should go watch the main video again, because I know I definitely appreciated it more when I re-watched it.
it was awesome to see this behind the scenes! main vid was also super cute and artsy, nostalgic not just of your earlier work but of life in general I think ^^
Loving the Mejora's Mask in the background.
2:44 I have that same drawing tablet! I love seeing youtubers that don't need the biggest, best, most expensive equipment to produce good content - PJ can do more with that than many people can do with a huge cintiq setup. His talent doesn't rely on equipment, he's just plain talented and creative.
It's crazy how much time and effort is spent into making this short 2 minute video
If you pause at 2:12 it looks like one eye is blue and one is green
You are my favorite filmmaker, you will only keep getting better and will definitely get to be in charge of bigger productions.
also, "I don't like making the same thing every week" or whatever you said made me go PSHHHHH. BRuh, have you even watched your videos? they're always magical and different you nerd.
as someone who has absolutely no idea how to art or make videos or stuff like that it's just so amazing to me to see these bts videos. the outcome of the video is so beautiful and great and i wouldn't think that it took so long but then i see these videos explaining how you did it and i'm in awe. seriously you're such a great video/film maker and artist and every single video you make is such a joy to watch.
I love the space kid so much more now
it was so simple yet so hard and fantastic
You're ridiculously creative, PJ! I loved seeing how this was made, you obviously put so much effort into it. Keep challenging yourself, the results are amazing.
what a craftsman. its cool someone takes the time to do a video like that
This is completely brilliant. The animations lined up so perfectly with the stills that I had no idea they were projected until I saw this video.
I feel your pain, PJ! I did a very similar thing with my final project in art this year. I almost just used what you called a sync plate with the animations layered with it. But having the physical image being projected on adds to the project so much more.
I would give anything to just sit in the corner and watch you work- as weird as it sounds. My favorite thing about films is the tiny details behind them, and I remember the times I've made little films with partners and the laborious chore of going "cut it there- no- no half a second before- yes. There." and I would love to see that happen on your videos, as there are quite literally my favorite videos on youtube.
wow he really goes the extra mile, it could've been done digitally but he likes to keep that diy craft feel on his videos. mad respect.
My CC was on and every word is according what PJ is saying... Talk about perfect english 😆
It worked out beautifully, and seeing how much effort you put into it made it even more special.
man i never thought about how much works goes onto a two minuite animation.
I don't think we appreciate enough all that PJ does for us ♡
I had suck a horrible day so I can trust PJ to make it better ❤👑
I hope you are better now❤️❤️❤️
Putting how PJ makes his videos really makes me appreciate not only the original video but all of his videos because he puts effort into every single one.
It was great that you challenged yourself with this! Extremely worth it with the final product and as a creative learning experience! Do you think you'd use this method of projection animation again for a future project?
i love the blending of hand-drawn art with technology, specifically something so random as a projector. it’s so creative and original, i wish my brain worked the way yours does! thank you for the amazing vid peej
It was way more than cool,PJ
I didn't understand the syncing process at all so when THE END was flashing and wriggling on the paper, my first thought was honestly "IT'S MAGIC". I loved watching the bts! Makes me appreciate the original video more :)
The BTS are always amazing. As a film maker in training it is super cool to get to see how a video is made and how a shoot is put together. I am very grateful for your work. Thanks Peej! So inspiring
PJ you are so creative it's unbelievable. I feel so inspired when I watch your videos.
the creativity in you is MINDBLOWING TEACH ME
You're so creative!! I always look forward to your videos.
His stubble is TOO BEAUTIFUL IT'S KILLING ME
PJ inspires me to be more creative, things like this make me want to make little quirky videos with stories, I can't draw very well but I am imaginative, and the stop motion frames are a way I can let me creative out without having to be outstanding artistic
This was so brilliantly done. Even after watching this video, the magic is still there, and I love that :')
these videos are fascinating, i absolutely love them
You are literally the best, you work so hard, no wonder it turned out so good!! Well done PJ!!
This really brought me back to the old days of pj idk how anyone can be so talented
OHH... oh, Ok.
I love your channel because your always doing something different and you are so diverse from any other youtubers and it really makes you stand out! How do you not have more subscribers?
This is absolutely amazing. It kind of reminds me of how some artists will use projectors to project an image they've drawn magnified onto a wall so that they can paint it onto there. I could never have expected more from, you, though.
i love how creative you are😊
This is so creative! It's so cool how hard PJ pushes himself to think outside the box. I mean, has anyone ever done projector/drawing/animation thingy before? I doubt it. When will ur fave ever
glad someone still has the creativity for original videos on youtube. this is amazing!!!
Would you let us use this technique in other projects? I'm planning to start making animations in the future and i really liked this idea!
totally!
+KickThePj I find it funny how you used your main channel to reply and not your second channel. Just pointing it out! XD
+Thorn Knight I think he saw your respond, if you look at the comments Karoline Bjork and TechniKeller he responded at C:
How come you didn't just put the animation directly on the scanned drawings in the computer? Or you just wanted to try out projection mapping? :) Looks great though!
I wanted to try projection mapping. I wanted it to look imperfect.
+PJTheKick perfectly imperfect
1:43
What in the-
+Arya Beltaine ?
Are you talking about the hand? That's PJ's through the mirror.
mother of observation 😂
Are you talking about his eyes being 2 colours?
Or is that just me
i like the mix of computer animation and like an old school projector vibe. i think it was worth the effort.
This was so interesting to watch, honestly! I had absolutely no idea of how you pulled this off, but I'm glad you did, as the actual video is freaking AMAZING.
you're so creative and clever ????? like I know your brain is just as colorful as the animations in the video, because the stuff that comes out of it is just so beautiful ????? Love your videos so much man, keep it up
Never realized how much work goes into the short little videos you make. I appreciate them even more now for sure.
I feel like living with PJ would be awesome because you'd just be wandering through the house drinking some water or something and when you randomly find your dining table on its side in the middle of the room you just shrug and figure you'll check his channel in a day or two.
I reacted EXACTLY how you said we would, when you explained that you were going to use a projector. God! THAT'S AMAZING!!! I've already watched Space Kid twice and I'm going to watch it SO MUCH MORE >< Thank you Pj for being so wonderful and inspiring ! KEEP GOING !
I want Pj's brain. He comes up with the most original, different yet amazing ideas.
Space kid is one of my favorites of PJ's
Hmm... I think one of the reasons why I love this so much is because it's very similar to the main part of my final piece for my final A-Level art exam, and like you PJ I had NEVER done anything like that before, and even though it was a challenge, it was actually quite a lot of fun and I was so happy and proud of the final result :) (and I got a good grade but meh) so yeah... really enjoyed this one! xxx
It's nice to know how much work you put into your videos. I can really tell how much you care about your channel and I'm very surprised that your not going down the red carpet, your films are so magnificent and comforting. :)
My favorite scene was the space worm. Very very very inspiring work. Makes me want to brain storm how to put my camera to work besides just taking pictures
It's such a cute and peaceful lil animation I love it so much
Oh wow, I think it made it even more beautiful knowing how it was created. Standing ovation to you, good sir. And not breaking your table is always a bonus, that's always a fear when I'm putting away my crafting table.
aww that picture of him and Sophia in the background ❤️
I love seeing these behind the scenes kind of videos, but especially for this one, because I never would've been able to figure out how this was done. This is so sick!
You have now become one of my favorites aside from Cranbersher and Connor Franta!!!!!
This is actually the cOOLEST THING IVE EVER SEEN! You are honestly so creative PJ and watching this was so sick!! I love the video too :))
PJ ! In my city the comic strip writer Philippe Chappuis (who is very successful in FR) did an exhibition in a museum where he projected animations on sculptures. I think it's an awesome idea to use a projector :)
OMG! I had no idea you composited it with a projector.
A truly magical little story.
just watching your mind work and seeing your eyes light up when your thoughts become a reality is absolutely mind blowing. i could see your excitement and i started crying because of it. i don't know how to explain it, i'm just in love with your mind.
Dear PJ,
You managed to make setting up a projector look epic and I applaud you for that.
I really did not realize how much work actually went into that short little wonderful video. The amount of work and effort you put into making creative content is mind-blowing. Endless love and thanks and support for you, PJ.
I was excited to see Space Kid, because it is like your old stuff. It was a really cool callback.
he also inspires me to do things while i'm in the hospital such as decorating my room with my drawings or tell the little kids there storys. :) thanks Pj
It's so cool seeing how you make your ideas come to life. So much works goes into making such a short video but it was so worth it!
I really appreciate these types of videos, PJ. Keep up the awesome work! Space Kid is a beautiful video.
These videos are always so inspiring, PJ. And Space Kid was phenomenal!
It is so cool when you go through how you do these Peej like seriously - you have such an awesome process
so appreciate your channels and what you do pj. super inspiring!
"I'm done...oh my god, oh my god, oh my god" Is *exactly* how I feel after animating anything
"holy crap, I'm finished" relatable content
This really does have an overwhelming amount of steps though. I'm definitely going back across to watch Space Kid in a new light...the light of the projector from this BTS.
This made me appreciate the main video 100 times more. I didn't know how much effort and hard work it took to make a video like that, keep up the amazing work! :)
I love how this video was created. It is honestly one of my favorites and I'm so happy for PJ. He works so hard on his videos and I just love how his brain works. Keep doing what your doing 👍
This is insane. I would never have thought of such a creative method and it looks absolutely incredible. Well done Pj!
