I have in the past it just depends on the knife im making an what i want it to turn out like , its very easy to slip with any spinner an make a 1/2 moon cresent on a bolster it just that way on any of them but the bottom spinner helps line up everything strait an keep steady pressure not too much to keep it right . but yes i do use them regularly on stag especialy t
Did you make that spinning/doming set? If so could you tell me how you fabricated it and from what materials. Looks like a great little set up. Thanks, Bob Hershey, PA
I used Solid carbide broke endmills , I turn them in my lath with a diamond round nosed bit to make the concave in the end of them after I have squared them on the bench grinder with a diamond disk , once you have a set they never wear out , I been using my set for 4 years now , not like the crap you get from the knifesupply , they dont last a year especialy if you do much stainless pin stock
Yes it does ,it actualy flares out the heads very well , so well in fact sometimes i chamfer the hole just a bit to accomidate it . i still use peening methods in certian applications but the spinners work on stuff that was factory spun i may be restoring ,t
Thanks. Would you use it for peening pins on a knife build?
