- Heavyweight prospect Joe Joyce battled Iago Kiladze in a scheduled 10-round bout on September 30, 2018, from the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California, live on FS1 as part of the Premier Boxing Champions series.
Joyce quickly took control of the fight, dropping Kiladze early in round two. Kiladze recovered but was sent to the canvas again in the third round. Joyce knocked Kiladze for a third time in round five, at which time Kiladze removed his mouthpiece and surrendered. Joyce was declared the winner via 5th-round knockout. His record improves to 6-0, 6 KOs.

Joyce is relentless and tough as hell
Yeah he has those thick bones like foreman. I'm sure he can make alot of trouble in the division (top 5).

Kiladze should reconsider his heavyweight career, he suffered 3 KO’s in the last 3 fights and took a lot of punishment. He seems like a good bloke, but doesn’t have the chin nor stamina to compete at the highest level. There’s no reason for him to take any further punishment, if he keeps fighting he’ll be brain damaged.
Probably the only way he can feed his family

Second observation not particularly fast/Quick HOWEVER Hands are HEAVY UNUSUALLY HEAVY,and in quick burst has deceptive hand speed with Destructive power to the body.

Joyce is an absolute tank and has improved a lot since this fight. Hats off to Kiladze though..he was tough and game.
Joyce is slow and has a poor defence. Kiladze landed the right numerous times. Now imagine Wilder, Joshua, Ortiz landing their shots... dunno man. He got power tough. Is it enough to beat the top guys? I think not.
I dont think joyce is trying to contend with the champions at this stage he's had less than 10 fights. I think Ortiz wins but if he gasses he could be in trouble against a hungry Joyce

I don't see him getting any better(read faster) As soon as he steps up in competition, you'll see all his flaws getting highlighted. He'll get exposed. That's what i think tough.... 4:25 - this left is slow you would time to paint it, contrast this with 6:00 where the left is a super fast lithe knockdown punch. Joyce is an enigma.

I don’t think I have ever seen a boxer throw slower punches than Joyce. Regardless of weight class.

I think people have lost appreciation or misunderstand the blocking style. It's not as fancy and can look rough but it is effective.
A lot of people here havent seen big george he was tough as nails granted he had more power but was effective with this sort of pressure,i can see joyce have the beating of any active heavyweight ,he counters so well and mixes his head and body attacks ,great accuracy and can take a hell of a shot and always comes back with volume

he's 50+ years old.
Sure, he is a little slow, but he only needs to connect with one and its game over. Besides, this much weight pressing you for 3 minutes of every round will tire any fighter. I see heavyweight champions avoiding this guy like the plague. Nicely picked counter punches in this fight I thought.

Joyce did a good job in showing people how not to cut off a ring. Joyce should leave Abel alone and run to Derrick James. Abel gonna ruin Joyce career. If you don't believe me the records speak for itself. Gassiev couldn't become undisputed at cruiserweight, GGG couldn't become undisputed at 160, Barrera was unable to control the Ward fight under Sanchez supervision and Sanchez has a bad habit of throwing his fighters under the bus when they lose. GGG was never a come forward type of fighter, he was more technical than people think and deserved a more competent coach.
You only need to hold 3 of the 4 major titles to be considered undisputed champion. So technically GGG was a former undisputed champion.

@@passivestudent2880 you need to hold only 2 major titles together to be considered unified world champion. If you unify all 4 or 3/4, its pretty much considered undisputed. WBA/ WBC are hands down considered the most prestigious, followed by Ibf, and then wbo. And GGG had the three strongest titles which is damn near undisputed. Followed by a robbery by most fans, And an arguable draw, to the "Golden boy" cash cow fighter.

Joyce has a gas tank like a featherweight. Kiladze is not metaphorically running, he is literally jogging and Joyce is running top speed after him. Kiladze had the right idea with the running though. Joyce overtook him in round two and flattened him.

If he survived the first 4 rounds Joyce would stop Ortiz.... he couldn’t deal with the constant pressure and superior chin and stamina of Joyce he would start to slow and down and fold after 4 rounds of constant pressure and body punches.. Ortiz is way past his best.. he’s world class for like 4 rounds then his age starts to show

Joe Joyce needs to improve on his speed to belong to the class of big heavyweights.
He's just pacing himself right. He's fully aware of that. He has the knowledge wich young foreman didn't had. Foreman was different in his young age and couldn't go 12 rounds without exhaustion. Joyce fights much smarter, more like a "big" old foreman. Foreman learned from that, and Joyce has the knowledge. He is doing well

Have been really impressed with Joe but not so in this fight. He would hunt Kiladze down, cut him off, corner him and then let him throw the first punches. Not good. Joe took too many unnecessary punches. Not the best performance but still an impressive fighter.

Joyce moves like a toddler who just learned to walk...and he's slower than molasses.
But he keeps on winning.
He knows what he's doing. If you followed foreman, you will know this guy just seems "slow" and "robotic" but he's fully aware of that. He he's the knowledge wich the young foreman didn't had, so he fights like old big george. He will make some trouble for sure. Good Armateur boxers or boxers wich move inside and outside have the best chances to beat him but only by points. I wish we will see him fighting fury, it would be like a modern Ali vs Foreman. That would be maybe the most entertaining matchup with Joyce.

Joyce fast like an assassin.. very articulated, calculative and steady direct punches.. kiladze was throwing wide punches with no direct effect, and was running around alot, hence he decided to take his teeth guide off because he was tired..

It's a good thing for Joyce that Kiladze didn't have Dreds and a British accent. These heavy weights today are slow and sloppy.

Joyce has got to have one of the most unattractive styles ever. Not only is he slow and lumbering, but he’s very predictable so the top fighters should have no problem slipping his punches. The one thing he does have is that he’s a very heavy puncher, so if he lands on the money opponents often have to pick themselves up off the canvas. But again, Joyce should be far better at finishing opponents off once he catches them, up he’s to fricken slow.
Joe Joyce looks super awkward, no head movement his head is just sitting there to be punched, but he has heavy hands and stays active he would punch himself out against the right opponent, Joyce vs parker would be a good one

Joyce has his limitations, but he sure has a chin. Kiladze had 18 KOs coming into this fight, admittedly against low-ranked opponents, but he must have a bit of a dig with a record like that. Against Joyce, it was like peashooter taking on a tank - Kiladze's best shots just bounced off and he became totally demoralised. It will be interesting to see whether Joyce can keep standing against someone as heavy handed as Dubois. He's obviously going to be out-boxed, but if he can keep standing he may just have a puncher's chance.
i guess your predictions were wrong since joyce was winning on points and badly cut dubois' eye to the point where dubois couldn't take any more
@@freaky3418 Yes - I underestimated Joyce. His chin really is supernatural, and despite looking so slow he simply walks through opponents and lands his heavy shots. The Parker fight suggest that a belt is not out of the question if he can hang on till Usyk and Fury retire. I can't see him beating either of those guys, but I've been wrong before. As for the rest, I think he'd have good chances.

Apart from a strong chin( which is yet to be properly tested) and a strong punch, what else does Joyce offer? Dubois has alot more to offer than Joyce, and I personally can't see Joyce beating Dubois

Joyce's fighting style is off but the man looks like a damm truck he got hit by kilache towards the end of the 4th His reaction to the late punch was like man none of ur PUNCHES bother comes out in the 5th round pissed and was looking to get that knockout kilache or whatever his name is was doing good moving side to side but that just bought him more time when he got tired and stopped moving he was a sitting duck Hope yall guys ain't sleeping on joyce he lacks Technique but his goofyness might get him some more wins i dont think it will be against Anthony Joshua or deontay wilder but maybe some of those other names
