Music is magical and conveys so much. I was watching The Crown and this piece was featured. It was driving me crazy trying to place it and I watched the credits w no luck. I have not seen The English Patient since it was in theaters yet it was less than 30 minutes before I could imagine the scene that went with the music and found my way back to this piece. That is the ultimate compliment to a score!!!
@@organboi it’s not that odd actually. Playing from memory without the score in a performance is a relatively new phenomenon in classical music after Liszt started doing it. If you played an instrument, you would know there’s also something beautiful looking at the score and playing the notes on the page. Each performer is different in their approach to music. What matters in the end is the beautiful music that’s being made, not whether the person uses a score or not during the performance.
Unbelievable!!!! So so so beautiful. Ya know when that movie came out in theaters I was in a date and we went to see it. My date and I loved the film so much we came back three more times to watch it!! The score blew us away!!!

Huge tears running down my face, from what deepest wellspring of beauty flows this music? My heart could easily break....
The English Patient always in my heart. This is very beautiful music 💔💕
The pianist is the composer himself Gabriel Yared. Bravo for a most beautiful composition in the finest tradition of JS Bach.
totally getting goldberg vibes
you are right... Lebanese origin... deeply Bach
Yet his eyes are buried in the score of his own simple piece. Odd.

Fantastic 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Bach suspirou de emoção de onde sua alma repousa com a homenagem.
Lo mismo pensé
Bach is alive.
El momento de la película, cuando suena esta composición de Bach, mientras ella contempla las pinturas de la catedral, es algo inefable...
Es Bach? Cómo se llama la melodía?
Maravilloso
Фантастическое исполнение!..
Wow! Gabriel Yared…!
Dirk Brosse is the conductor

Nice......
Qué maravilla, pensé que era Bach
Es que se trata de una variación a partir de una composición de J. S. Bach. En este momento no puedo identificar el n° de BWV.
