For the tomato sauce, if you have a restaurant store close to you, you can get a big #10 can and re can it into smaller amounts that might work for you

I’m originally from Belleville Ont but have lived here in BC for nearly 25 yrs. Food is sooo much more expensive here than Ont. I’ve seen other transplants from Quebec and Ont having sticker shock when they shop out here. Fun fact; the Daiya cheese is made in BC and just a 10 min drive from our house. Our son loves Dayia. So much fun watching your videos but noticed you haven’t posted for awhile. Hope you are all well♥🇨🇦

If you have a Dollar General, Walgreens, or Family Dollar, the stores always have digital coupons on Colgate each month to make 3-6 tunes free or very low cost.

I love ice milk! I never see it in the US very often. It's now called ice cream, but you have to check the butterfat content

Great video! Thanks for sharing. We go once week for our family of three, almost four! I’ve wanted to try doing once a month in hopes to save money. We are also trying to work on our food storage. 😄

Great monthly haul!! I think you get so much for the prices!! I shop weekly because I don't have a lot of storage right now, but we're working on that! I prefer to shop monthly, one time and done!

I shop once a week but I have a food storage too that I add to. My bill came to 400 last week and 350 this week, US dollars. Most of that was just basic food for the week.

Good stockup! Being in the States, yes it does get me when I see your prices, however our prices are rising here!! I think our grocery bill is up about $40. Just crazy!! Love your videos!

Hi Faye, I'm another Canadian (I have a channel, too) 😊. With all the restrictions, my family hasn't been to the US in over 2 years, but I like going there as you guys have different brands and flavours of things that we don't get here. But it can be expensive for us to do that, as our dollar isn't on par with yours, unfortunately. But I still like to check out what brands and flavours you have, especially when it comes to baking supplies. 😆

@@everydayimwingingit2677 I will check out your channel!! I feel the same way about going to Canada, even though I have only been 2 times in my lifetime. I know ya'll have amazing prices on prescriptions and you offer a wider variety of over the counter medications that they would never allow here in the states, of course though because we have a horrible drug epidemic in this country! Mr. Trudeau in my opinion is at the same mental level as our POTUS, tired of them overstepping!!! With the protests are you having shortages?

I love to see another ontario momma!! I love watching the prices in the US but it so nice to see someone paying what I pay. We are also a family of 5 and I try to stick to $1000 budget as well. I just did a walmart shop for moslty bigger items, toilet paper, paper towel, diapers animal food and a small portion of our actual groceries, it was almost $400 dollars and I took 3 kids with me so that may have helped lol we don't have a fresh co but I go if we are in London my favorite it No Frills( they still price match🤣) prices are definitely rising.

Bananas are around $0.44 a pound where I shop but a year ago they were $0.36 so the price is creeping up. I think prices are crazy high on cereal for you. A medium size box is probably around $4-5 but I normally shop deals and load coupons to get the best prices because it feels so expensive to me. Amazing they finally had peanut butter. I have been enjoying canned mandarin oranges for salad and stores he been out for a few weeks. I have gone back to around once a week shopping to pick up deals but might go back to once a month. We are normally at $200 per month for our family of three but I have taken a little low spend to use up pantry items and ended January at $93 and hope to be under $100 for February too. It doesn’t seem like I am making a big dent in the pantry but I am trying to use up things that have been sitting for awhile.

Just switched from every 2 weeks to once a month shopping to try and save a little on gas. Our budget for the 2 of us was $200 for 2 weeks, but we are trying $350 a month to see if we can do it. I do have a large stock of home canned goods from our garden and chicken flock.

We are a family of 3 Adults. Our budget was 400.00 a month but now since the prices went up we up it to 475.00 a month. I am still trying to keep it as close as I can to 400.00. Last month we actually only spent 410.00. I was very happy with that. I do groceries most weeks and follow the sales. We don't buy too much at full price. All are meats our on sale. I try to buy the fresh vegetables on sale also. Fruits aren't always easy to find on sale but I still try. I also got a bag of banana's from Walmart a few days ago. We have been eating them up and tomorrow I will make banana bread with some more and freeze the rest as they are very ripe. We do live very close to our walmart and food basic so it doesn't take much gas to get to the store. I love your video. Thank you for sharing.

Bananas are .69/lb. at Superstore currently, so yes, the price you found them at is pretty good.
I'm only shopping for three - two parents and one adult child - but I still have to watch the prices. When I do my grocery haul videos I try and break down the prices, and points earned. Because I work at Sobeys, I do get a 10% discount on my first $150 spent each week, so I buy some things there. But I also do a lot of my shopping at Superstore as I'm focused a lot on earning PC Optimum points to redeem on groceries. In the first 5 weeks of this year I've already earned $90 in points - every little bit helps.
Do you have Loblaws and/or No Frills there? It has been a lot of years since I lived where you are, so I don't know what all stores are there now.

We do have a No Frills and enjoy their stores. But lately their store brand (No Name) has started adding soy to their ingredients so I'm finding it harder to shop there.

Does your stock ever freeze in the cold storage room ?

    • @HomemakingMaven
      @HomemakingMaven 2 роки тому +1

No it doesn't. It always stays above freezing as it's 6ft into the ground and is well insulated. So the ground and insulation help it hold just enough heat not to freeze. Great question!
