I love how they always did their own thing, so many punk bands from that era sound like each other. X didn't sound like any other band and nobody sounded like them either.
I'm watching 'Roadhouse' right now and had to come and look up an X video just to see John Doe in action. He is gorgeous in that film and can act pretty well. He had me convinced he was a backwater hayseed! LOL
Ditto, thanks for posting this great video. It seems like this may be from the show that Howard (Hessman?)-from WKRP In Cinncinati-hosted. We watched it & really liked it.
@@bigpapa6687 Me too! I can’t believe I found this. I used to watch and re-watch and re-watch this thing on my VHS tape. I love Billy Zoom. He always seems to be smiling.... which isn’t very punk but somehow, it just works.
Tiffany Smith-Villarreal I remember seeing this on TV in 1984 on some sort of primetime rock music special. I do remember that Jefferson Starship were on the same show playing Somebody To Love, but other than that, I can't remember...
I remember seeing this on NBC tv when it came out , it was actually on a made for tv show about the history of rock and roll, and was hosted by the guy who played Dr. Johnny Fever on WKRP tv show.. I actually recorded it on our brand new JVC VCR , which we had just gotten because the first video rental store had opened up in our area. I want to say it was around 1983 . They had X play live to represent what was "new and hip" in the rock and roll scene.
Probably the dumbest comment ever. They pretty much created the LA punk scene with a couple other bands. Evolved into a roots rock band and are still at it over 40 years later. You have to be intelligent to appreciate them. Sorry you don’t get it pal
If you think X is over-rated that just means that they don’t make the music for you. They make it for me and many thousands of other people like me. I think they’re one of the greatest bands of all time.
My heart. They were and continue to be vanguards and true originals. Long live X
Now this is what COOL is....X are the real thing. Just unbelievable memories. Glad I was part of it all.
I love how they always did their own thing, so many punk bands from that era sound like each other. X didn't sound like any other band and nobody sounded like them either.
To this day there are no X tribute bands, because it's too difficult to replicate their sound, mainly due to all the chord changes.
@@sudaev haha. I see what you did there. 😂
Yeah!!!!!......STAY TRUE.....I'm 60!! I'm true to my style.
How are they so indescribably good????
exene looks exenely sexy dancing ..this has to be my fav x video clip the band seems to be having fun and are in top form...X the best band ever !!

🤟😆 yes, X my favorite band live performances were the best again and again !.!
Uprated. Greetings from France via the USA. Not a single thumbs down on this one -- yay!
For a song that has two chords and a bunch on nonsensical lyrics, it sure kicks ass.
That's the most I've ever seen Billy Zoom move.
L.A. pUnK rock X wss on in the day. I love that song God Bless you all. !!!!
no no no. I've adored this song for 30 years.
This is True Love Pt 2, to be exact. True Love is a totally different song they play on More Fun In The New World.
Back in the day musicians made music.
I love X!
Fuckin bad ass X is a force till this day!!!!

Which episode? I can’t find it.

True Rock excitement
most of the clapping is by people who are embarrassed that they had no idea who X was until they got told that they were supposed to clap

@@pheonix55971985 grad night?
Lol anyone else get this when tryna find Jahs new song?
True Love Part II actually.
Part of the 80s in Los Angeles.
Why wasn't Exene skipping rope during this performance?
Where was this? Do you know? I'm curious is all :) love this ❤

It was on Super night of rock n roll a special that was televise in 1984 .I have it on Beta but it is a scratchy tape.
What's up with that audience? It looks like they belong at a Rick Astley or Kenny Loggins concert. You know they have no idea who X is!
What venue was this?

This is True Love (Part 2) ... Part 1 is the better song by far. In fact True Love (Part 2) is probably the worst cut on More Fun in the New World.
I agree. Never was too crazy about the title track also (though there's a good acoustic version up on UA-cam). Still, they were so great then.
Only if you don't like to dance...
Oroborus I like this one better. It’s more, “Out there”.
Probably the most overrated band ever!
Hardly. More like underrated.
