Really saddened to see this podcast come to an end. There was a time a few years back when I was at rock bottom, without a pot to piss in, in a bad old situation. Finding and listening to this podcast was like stumbling on buried treasure back then. I couldn't believe that this big Hollywood star had made this show interviewing other big Hollywood stars. As a cinephile, it was the perfect escape for me and I enjoyed every damn minute of it. It was one of the things that kept me afloat back then. That's really no exaggeration cos this was a very dark time in my life which I honestly didn't think I would see the other side of.
So thank you Kevin, Jamie, Samm and the crew. So sad to see you go.
    All good things.

I hope you pulled yourself up by your bootstraps like we all must! I can't wait to watch alot of these. Actually I set up the queue and sleep to them and replay them on my drives. I came here becuse of Larry David and then watched Jason Alexander. Larry called Kramer a crazy guy in Real LIfe. lol. I hope Kev P has Elaine in his list of stars he interviewed. I am also saddened that this is not still going.

First to be last. Adios, amigos. You will be missed. Even though there are tons of podcasts now, you put out a unique product, mainly sticking to an ancient art, the long form interview.
Many highs a few lows. I miss the Sunday live shows. Good luck in all your collective future ventures.

Kevin & Company, I’m horrified at the show ending but congratulate you all on a fantastic and fun ten years! Kevin, you are a wildly supportive host while acting snarky and as if you don’t care even though it’s beyond obvious that you care deeply. I used to think early on that you deserved a network show in the tradition of Carson(Johnny not Daly)and felt bad that “they” never gave you a chance...except you DID have a show and it was better than any network would’ve ever allowed you to create. So, hats off to you and thanks for the entertainment and the funny and the smart. Yes, those are all things, not adjectives. I always wanted to play poker with you, attempt a Larry King sign off, and have you do my eulogy as Mr. Walken. I gave you my undivided attention for a coupla hours a week for 10 years since episode two and this is how you show your appreciation? Quit? You’re a jerk. Get out of my face. Buffering...........................

mikemorrison281 He showed he didn’t care by releasing horrible audio, then getting rid of picture, then going away for months to leave it to samm, been years since he had interesting guests, attitude got shitty etc.. the best episodes are full of invaluable stories though

@@basehead617 you obviously didn't get the point... He gave folks who never get invited to talk shows because they are too deep for prime time... And they don't give a shit about schmoozing with networks ...

I wish you would consider starting up the podcast again Kevin. There's really nothing quite like it out there. Sure, there's people who do long interviews, there's showbiz interviews. But no one with so much first hand experience and with so much respect for the subject matter, with so much effortless showmanship at his disposal.
Really hoping you will consider rebooting the podcast Kevin. (minus the T5 segment of course!)

Dana Carvey(#20) was the best guest with John Landis(#121) being a close second.

    • @basehead617
      @basehead617 4 роки тому

the John Landis interview is amazing! Also Ivan Reitman, Barry Sonnenfeld, etc. - common denominator is that they're directors. They always have incredible stories. There's gotta be stuff in those interviews that has never been said anywhere else in any form, a historical goldmine.

Hello Kevin. First off, let me be clear that I think you are an extremely brilliant comedian and film actor; and I am a megahuge fan of your stand up, films, and your incredible podcast! That being said, I would like to thank you for almost ruining my marriage!
At the time of this writing, I have been married all of one week. My honeymoon was not, say, watching the SuperBowl at Bruce Willis' house or going to Vegas with Tom Cruise - but it was in Hawaii, and for a poor schmuck like me, it was paradise. The problem was that I bought your book to read on the plane; and I couldn't stop crying! I mean, I bawled, like a famished baby being pulled right from the tit!
In what should have been the greatest and happiest time of my life, turned into a humiliating punch in the stomach!
In all seriousness - I was falling apart next to my new wife, unable to control myself! Why? Because in the first half of the book, you described what EASILY could have been my childhood! I deeply related to your need for approval of family and friends via the vehicle of making them laugh! I too, am afflicted with the blessing and/or curse of having the Zelig phenomenon. I, too, felt the vicious, gnawing desire to make people laugh (I told you, I am a schmuck!).
Maybe it was the complimentary booze going to my head or you were tugging on some serious heart strings there, brother! As I tried everything in my power to swallow my river of tears and retrieve any slice of dignity, my thoughts begain to wonder: why did my path go a different direction than yours?
Not being presumptuous, I quickly reminded myself that even on my best day, I am not worthy to clean your foot wear with my tongue! As I inhale every stunning chapter, I quickly lose sight of what I can relate to because, let's face it, the only celebrity I have encountered is the local public access homosexual activist, who drinks his own urine.
You can say this is, my Rich Little moment. I know you won't take me to Show Business...and I know your extremely busy (Massive congrats - you sincerely deserve it!) but maybe you might consider producing and/or directing a feature that scans the World Wide Web for people, like me - who dream big, but are left shackled in the confines of mediocrity. I know plenty of subjects, like me, who keep going on UA-cam with the long shot hopes of being taken to Show Business. Why do we keep banging our heads against the wall? Who knows! I just think you would be perfect to relate to all of us nitwits, on the Island of Forgotten Toys.
Everyone (or at least it seems) in La La Land is into producing and/or directing; and you have already dipped your pen in the company ink by already producing 9 projects and directing 6 projects. Who else would be more perfect than you to embrace the chasing your dream angle, and the genius of risk taking that you exemplify?! Who else can relate to the heroin addict NEED to tap the vein of our performing talents, looking to plunge the plunger of our dreams' syringe?
Mr. Pollack, sir, I look forward to finishing the book, reading about things I can never relate to; and I know when I reach the chapter about Jerry Lewis, I will become a sickening basket case! Until I finish your amazing book, I just want to thank you for being the genius that you are; HUGE thanks if you actually read this; and a BIG salute to you - for I even filmed my own entry in the Larry King game in tribute to you. (For the last time, may I remind you that I am a schmuck?!).
    My Sincere Best,
    Michael Tomlins
