Millie:being pac leader does come with some perks. Lola: I don't mind having a bit of leftover later. Humphrey: I'm growing a puppy. They won't mind. (I swear he just inhaled it. I think their food aggression needs work.)
Sometimes it's a male dog thing and not even necessarily with him being the alpha. I have a male husky who's really well behaved/doesn't beg for treats, takes time eating, all that. whenever he gets something of high value he understands that so I don't get mad when he "eats with his neck" like Humphrey did here. I think it's healthy for dogs to get to feel like their ancestors semi-regularly.
That wasn't food aggression. He didn't display any aggression to his owner, the only perceivable challenger for the food. This was food raiding. Different thing. It's opportunistic feeding. Not aggression at all.
@milperthusky I loved seeing how the three of the acted so differently. Millie was happy to eat off the plate, lick the plate clean and went searching for more😅... Lola was quite gentle and wanted to keep some for later😂 and Master Humphrey gobbled it all down in one second 🤣
