I am so sorry you got sick! my friend got sick too. It may have been from Fatouche, or any veggies where water is used to wash the veggies.. and there is typhoid there now too so that maybe was part of it maybe? next time bring rehydration mix with you or even gatorade. You can get rehydration mixes at travel places where you get vaccines but can get them other places I am sure as well. also. very important. every time you travel to Lebanon or anywhere in that part of world. bring Cipro from your dr. it will nip food poisoning in the bud very fast.. so first signs of food poising take a cipro. very strong antibiotic prescription only but I always bring them when I travel there.
avoid ice cream in Lebanon; with the power outages the ice cream thaws and re-freezes (increases the risk of salmonella)

The best thing is to avoid traveling to Lebanon at this time.
