Thanks again for this reviewing this show. I’m “old” too, and saw this with my family growing up. A decade later in the Netflix DVD-by-mail days my wife watched it in exchange for me trying Buffy and Angel. We had warned each other that both shows have a slow first season. Most the way through season one I asked her if she was going to stick with it. She said “I’m not sure if the show is very good, but I love the Londo-Jakar dynamic.” Not surprisingly she became a big fan.
Nothing wrong with loving both B5 and DS9, but the fact is Paramount producers did take ideas from JMS's show bible and fed them to the writers. JMS held the writers as blameless but there is pretty direct evidence the producers were not. And they did try a number of really nasty stunts to prevent B5 from getting airtime by raising rates and even withholding Star Trek from various broadcasters until Majel Barrett stepped in.
I'm not sure. I think it's a question to revisit once we've really plumbed the depths of her characters almost pathological need for privacy. I do think her acceptance of Garibaldi at the end was a thank you for his discretion.

The door chime is "May I come in?" 😂

As private as Ivanova is, do you think she’s relieved that someone else knows?
