Warbond is a 3/10 to me. It's not even themed properly.
Whilst pummeler doesn't change builds or not, that doesn't matter to me. It's different enough with permastunning things to feel valid and different enough
I agree with your rating and assessment. I like the grenade a lot vs bugs and the armor and capes look good enough for 3/10. The pummeler is gimmecky enough to toy with when bored. I'm not sure any warbond is more than 5/10, they all have 1-2 decent items and mostly filler.
Idk about everyone else, but my biggest disappointment from this warbond came from the _false advertising_ around this warbond. The Tenderizer is _not_ a high caliber weapon, the Purifier doesn't reward you with more damage the longer you charge, and the Verdict doesn't hit much harder than the Peacemaker. The armors are re-skins and there weren't any new perks.
It had no cryo weapons or grenades. Weird to call it Polar Patriots
The only thing I use from this war bond is the incendiary impact grenade. The impact damage is not as powerful as the original impact grenade but I don't need it to be. Its impact damage is still sufficient enough to kill most of the bugs and the secondary fire damage is great for breaches.
No we're not overreacting. Used every weapon once and haven't touched them since because why would I put myself at a disadvantage
I have not touched the plasma whatever even once. Even the Pummeler. I haven't used it yet cuz I already didn't use the Defender, so I feel no need to try Pummeler. In this type of game, I dislike using weapons that feel exactly like any other weapon in a traditional shooter. I don't play Helldivers to use re-skin of a MP5 or a M4A1, I play it for the crazy unique weapons.
Best smg released, solid side arm, impact incendiary is meta on bugs. You are missing out.
@anthrax2413 I felt the same way about the pummeler until I found it stun locks enemies. Stalkers, chargers, hunters. And yeah you can run while shooting it backwards. It's the one gun on the polar warbond that is actually amazing.
@@GuitarFRETBOARDHACKS I can see that. But I use stun grenade, so it also stun locks several stalkers at the same time, and then you burn them down with Breaker Incendiary.
@anthrax2413 put them together (which is what I do) and you will be untouchable lol. Eventually you will get bored enough to try it out. As someone who has a despicable amount of hours in this game I can say that it's loads of fun.
I wish they added more content and I dont mean content you can buy. It need more different types of missions and buildings.
I would love for them to remove the stupid tiny map missions (defend and death match) and replace them with much more interesting and well thought out missions. Or just remove them entirely. There's nothing fun about being swarmed in a tiny space and ragdolled all over the place.
I wish weapons were more specialized. At the moment, it's very often I get into squads where everyone is running autocannons because they hit hard and have crowd control. I like weapons that does 1 thing and does that 1 thing very well, it makes it so that each member of the squad has a role or duty. At the moment, everyone are running meta because there's less thought put on team dynamic and instead put on individual performance.
The enhancement is a really good idea. But really doesn't seem to do much effect in reality.
The pummeler is S-tier against stalkers but pretty lacking against everything else.
The rest is either copy paste or outright complete garbage.
And then we have the purifier that is a class of its own. It's like a plasma version of the Eruptor but somehow it's about ten times worse than the Eruptor after it got nerfed so hard barely anyone using it.
Thank you Pipz. I love that you have such a reasoned and constructive way of providing feedback, for a game where it is clear that you are very passionate about. I also hope that ArrowHead watch this and listen to what you have to say.
I am too enamoured with the AMR, EAT, 500KG, stun grenades and gren pistol as the backbone to my build. Using the punisher, plasma shotty, breaker incendiary or dominator plus changing the strategems a bit usually keeps things fresh. The amount of brood commanders, bile/nursing spewers and hive guards means i will carry an amr or autocannon at all times.
The new polar patriots doesn't have stuff that displaces that playstyle. I like the eruptor/stalwart combo but I find gong full lasers or full fire to be more fun when changing things up.
2/10. The grenade and SMG are usable. Armor was nothing new and looks suspiciously like something lazily reskinned from existing assets and the other components are negligible.
Agreed. To be fair, it's obvious the devs rushed this one out more than the others.
Cutting Edge warbond was ok when it first came out, and with the buffs now, it seems to be the most consistently good out of the bunch.
Democratic detonation had the opposite faith.
Hopefully they'll have resources and time to fix all of them.
I give the polar warbond a solid 2/10 because the pummeler is the only good thing to come out it, the armors are cool but have no environmental passives that help traverse the snow planets so it's just another set of the same heavy armor passives as the rest even though they have fucking snow boots on, just another huge missed opportunity. The light armor is FUCKING BLUE, absolutely does not go with any environment lol. The Deagle looking pistol can't even penetrate medium armor, the new assault rifle is worse then the default liberator, and don't even get me started on the purifier, straight up a waste of medals. And lastly I never spend medals on poses or cards so like 30% of the warbond is irrelevant to me.
Purifier should have been able to close bugholes with enough charge. And for that matter it needed multiple charge levels. That's how the weapon was described it should have been able to charge for a super powerful shot after like 3 seconds or so.
Plasma purifier is fairly underrated and it’s pretty useful against Automatons. Blast radius just deletes troopers and you can easily take out scout striders with 2 shots (not good against heavier targets and it requires multiple shots).
I do agree that the devs should should stop recycling old content and add new game changers. Armor changes would be good way to mix up the builds, because they feel too cosmetic and don’t offer new passive skills to brake the meta.
I think a gargantuan patch is coming that will buff a shit ton of stuff by end of June.
Yeah they said theyre gonna overhaul the entire game, hopefully for the best. And thankfully they said they will take their time inbetween rolling out patches instead of frequently as before since they want everything tweaked to balance the game more
Spot on assessment.
Pummeler's good if you want that type of thing. The grenade is actually really good at helping clear huge hordes if you throw 3-4 of them, but I mean... that's all that grenade really does. And then you've used up most of your nades for 1 horde. This is what a lot of strategems are for, clearing huge hordes. I'd much rather have a hole clearing nade, or a stun nade. Tenderizer's bad because it's too weak, purifier is probably the worst primary in the game atm, and the pistol is okay I guess. There is no doubt in my mind that this is the worst of the warbonds. As a bonus, nothing aside from the armor's visual design actually matches the "polar" theme (a fire grenade, really??). Could have introduced cryo weapons for this one, missed opportunity.
Sidenote: I'm still salty about the Eruptor, give it back you thieves!
tbh the best part of the polar warbond, was to spend my medals, that iv had maxed out for a long time.
Hi, disagree on the Pummeler and the I.I. grenades: they did change my builds against the 'nids; these pieces of wargear are really good imho, to the point I would advise PP warbond over SV warbond to a new player, even though SV has the Incendiary Breaker and the Dominator, because of the crowd control they offer while being very easy to use - I mean, the Pummeler is brilliant against hunters and stalkers, it makes spewers shut their mouth, Devastators and Berserkers take a quick nap, etc. and those grenades allow you to try different support weapons while being serene on dealing with chaff (while Impact grenades are on page 5 of Mobilize, and the Concussive Liberator doesn't stand comparison with the Pummeler).
Thinking of it, it's almost the perfect premium warbond to unlock first: CC and survivability, various perks of armor, maybe the funniest victory poses. "Almost" because of the Tenderiser and the Purifier that really need an update. For more seasoned players, that's an other story, but I really like the Pummeler...

Well I think that they for sure want to add many similar weapons. just little tweaks and all. And I think that is fine! I mean... many guns ARE cool and just discovering your favorite gun in the niche is cool. but as you said. There needs to be at least ONE gamechanger weapon in the warbond.
I mean I can think of some special cool weapons.
-Like a freezethrower weapon
-and then ofc freezegrenade
-Gasthrower
-nailgun/ a gun that spreads mini projectiles around that bounce on surfaces
-Old fasioned mosin nagant~
and im getting tired but theres endless possibilities.
The problem is that there are the special weapons so honestly the primaries and secondaries cant get too crazy...
I agree mostly with this. I do feel the pummeler is close enough to be impactful. The crowd control you can do with this gun is insane vs bugs.
I like the pummeler cause it stun locks stalkers hard, like they can't move.

I'll disagree with you on the incendiary grenades - the impact incendiary is far better than the other. FAR BETTER. Simply because it is an impact makes it so.
Great video! I agree this feels too similar to Diablo 4 nerfing and that wasn't a good outcome for a while
for me the inc. impact grenades are not exploding on impact, and i dont think the purifier actually has the pen it promises. but i have switched to using the smg with bshield and hmg on bots.
Not obly does the weapons fare poorer. It doesnt even have the right theme. Nothing POLAR about this warbond.
I had all my metals saved for this warbond and I don’t use anything. I used the kodiak armor for bots a few times but prefer the blue/whit fortified as heavy is just too slow imo. Other than that it’s all just collecting dust.

Tenderizer isn't bad it's just too much like the Liberator. The Pummeler and Verdict are pretty good. The Purifier is just garbage. There's no reason to use it over the Scorcher. Impact incendiaries are decent.
Also, why is this Warbond called "Polar Patriots"? There is nothnig snowy in this warbond. The armors are uninteresting and they don't look like they belong in a snowy setting.
The weapons are just basic weapons: an underpowered assault rifle, a decent smg, a weird and underpowered energy weapon, and an inciendary grenade(?!). again, it doesn't feel like these belong in a snowy setting.
And yeah, the stuffs in the warbond are way too underpowered now.

Im surprised i have not seen a comment about the nerfs, poorly balance we get that but im starting to think they are stalling and dragging the content to force us to grind meaninglessly.
Arrowhead can nerf immediately but cant revert stupid changes that has hurt the fun of the game 🙄
The railgun is to its previous unnerved state, which shows 2 things, 1 the developers have not fought off power creep but still have some how made the game severely less fun for the majority of the community and 2, the railgun is probably the best for bots, it edges out the current quasar canon by a little, but I much rather use a preferred eruptor with a stalwart, why??? because it is more fun, eve though it is worse. I can easily kill hulks with the railgun but not with the eruptor set up. this is the problem with helldivers, the devs didnt even accomplish the task they set out to do
I really agree with the sickle that it is an amazing weapon, but I would be happy if they buff it along with the other weapons not too much but at least make it's damage from 55 to 65 do you guys agree with me? I mean it needs a sliiight buff
Sickle? That is overall, one of the better weapons in the game. For being infinite ammo, it has more than enough power.
How many game changers can you actually have?
EH, to each their own, but it got me to stop playing the game. Warbond excitement is a big reason for some, myself included, and when a couple warbonds exist 2 months in a row that even are changed/nerfed into oblivion or release garbage... that is it for me.
Out of the four I'd say it's the worst, I'm not sure if i even get it, i still have a lot to grind with the other three first

The Purifier is total hot garbage, unusable. The only thing they can do to make it better, IMO is give 2 to 3 shots per charge. That would make it unique and much much better. I say 3 shots per charge up and now you have a unique decent weapon unlike most other weapons, without making it op.
The smg is the best weapon from this bond and it pretty good especially against bots. Can put down every bot except for HULKS.
Actually stun locks hulks when you shoot them in the back. It just doesn’t deal with Factory Striders for obvious reasons.

There are three things worth getting out of the Polar Patriots warbond: The Pummeler, the Incendiary Impact grenades, & the Motivational Shocks booster.
Since I got the Pummeller SMG I use it constantly on bots. It stun locks nearly every enemy and pairs perfectly with the Ballistic Shield.
I used the Defender before the Pummeller and there is a considerable difference between the 2. Chainsaw Berserkers completely stop running after you; Rocket Devastators stop shooting at me and my teammates because of the stun lock.
The Pummeller is not a side grade to the Defender. It’s an upgrade in my opinion because the damage loss is so minimal for such a strong stun.
Pummeler is the only useable weapon from the warbond everything else is crap

Did not buy this warbond. I quit playing after the arc trower stagger nerf, not doing it for any reason but i find it sad that my arc sucks now. And my other fav weapin the railgun is in the same spot and im sad about it honistly, just played a difficulty 5 match or 2 with a friend and it was still fun but no way we doing llvl 9 helldives if weapons are in this shit state. And i dont enjoy thz queso nor the autocannon

Now if they tweak the purifier alone it can easily get to be 9/10.
It’s on par with demolition post nerfs. Pummeler is very very good. Grenade is good. Pistol is pretty good. Cosmetics are decent.

Just say it the way it is, these are copy and paste weapons and they were lazy with the creation... You don't need 10 minutes to tell us how this was just to give us a new warbond every month, and nothing more than reskinned versions of the other weapons and nonsense tweaks to stats
