How many times have we involved in one-horse races for players and still massively overpaid in both the transfer fee and /or player wages? Pogba, Sancho, Martial, Ronaldo etc. maybe Mount as well, that remains to be seen. As one of the biggest clubs in the world, we're always going to pay more than the Arsenals, Newcastles and Tottenhams of this world , but that's also true of City and Chelsea. We've seen City walk away if the deal is not right (Maguire, Sanchez, Kane) and it's imperative we adopt this mentality. Decide what you're going to pay and stick to your guns. Overpaying only produces a negative effect. Overpay on the transfer fee, the player instantly comes under pressure. MASON GREENWOOD is a natural born goal scorer. People need to get off that very young man's back. He should definitely be playing for Manchester United to make us win. Jadon Sancho should also come back. Erik Ten Hag will talk to him and bring the best out of him. We should stop expecting too much perfection from young players. Amrabat has proven in the world cup that he is top class. His last games for Manchester United were awesome. He should playing for Manchester United.
Before we sign anyone, the Chelsea kid included, I'd want to know who else is interested? If none of the bigger clubs, at home or abroad is interested, then we shouldn't be. How many times have we involved in one-horse races for players and still massively overpaid in both the transfer fee and /or player wages? Pogba, Sancho, Martial, Ronaldo etc. maybe Mount as well, that remains to be seen. As one of the biggest clubs in the world, we're always going to pay more than the Arsenals, Newcastles and Tottenhams of this world , but that's also true of City and Chelsea. We've seen City walk away if the deal is not right (Maguire, Sanchez, Kane) and it's imperative we adopt this mentality. Decide what you're going to pay and stick to your guns. Overpaying only produces a negative effect. Overpay on the transfer fee, the player instantly comes under pressure. Overpay on the wages, this will create tensions amongst other members of the squad (I believe this is true in the case of Rashford, just my opinion). We need to act professionally in terms of signings now because we've seen for 10 years or more that spending money does not necessarily equate to success, at least in terms of our expectations of success (clue: not the Carabao Cup and Europa League).

There is literally no point to offering Greenwood a contract unless the club plans to play him, and Greenwood would be an idiot to sign a contract that ties him to a club that refuses to play him. If the club wont play him, then sell him this summer or let him go for free next summer, with another loan spell in between.

The whole idea of "Give the player a contract so we can sell him for more" is one of these weird fan theories that I've never seen work in the way advocates think it will. Any time a player signs a new deal it ends transfers. A contract is a commitment by the club - it doesn't just tie the player to the club, it ties the club to the player. United will be guaranteeing to pay Greenwood - a toxic asset they have no use for - millions for the next 3-4 years for doing nothing when FFP is already extremely, extremely tight. From a media perspective United signing up Greenwood for another 4 years is going to be a total shitshow too.

It's not giving Greenwood a new contract, it's exercising a clause that exists in his current one. If he goes on loan next season he leaves for free next summer. With the extra year, he can go on loan again and we can still sell him next summer.

If sancho wasn't being lazy what was wrong with his training performances specifically? Maybe he was just showing bad form, you pick team based on training performance quality, not just effort. Seems like very bad communication skills from both parties. You just have to meet in the middle with ETH saying his performances were not good enough to be selected even if he was trying his best and Sancho agreeing to that version
