    4....dxc4 and 4...e6 are two best moves for black

    On 09:02 , what would happen if Carlsen played Rook to F1 after the check?

    Mato, @ 0:50, why does pawn on d5 capture pawn on c4 when knight is played to c3? Doesn't that help white develop his f1 bishop with move pawn to e4? I don't understand the reasoning and the implications behind this move.

    6:30 I think better is Qxc6, and after Bxc6, Rc8 !! Also what if white plays Rxc1 instead of Qxc3?! 6:31

  • @Adetque
    @Adetque 12 років тому

    What if instead of 40. Rb2, Qe2 is played?

  • @shirshakbt
    @shirshakbt 10 років тому

    at 6:31 why would white QxC3 when instead it can RxC1?

    • @benjaminjoseph4403
      @benjaminjoseph4403 10 років тому

      My guess is that if Rxc1 black will play Qxe3+ followed by Rxd5 with a nice advantage.

    thanks mato, do you play for a chess club ? how about a few live blitz games so we can get an idea of how you play ? thankyou, liked !!!

    6:31 why not Rxc1?

    Let us not forget that Mr. Carlsen has lost games before. It may seem like he's doing a Capablanca, but he's lost. And it wasn't cuz he was bored or tired or the sun was in his eyes. Its because there are other awesome chess players out there too.
    "thats why you play the game!"

    Mato, how do you explain that such a great positionnal player as carlsen, has hunted the bishop til it has ruined his pawn structure ?

    Then you would have either 40. Qe2 Qg3+ 41. Kf1 Rd1+ 42. Qxd1 (or Qe1) Qxf2# or 40. Qe2 Qg3+ 41. Kh1 Rd1+, and then a few possibilities:
    42. (Qxd1, Qe1 or Qf1) Nxf2# or
    42. Rf1 Nf2 43. Qxf2 Qxf2 44. Rxd1 Qf3+ 45. Kh2 Qxd1

    Go gelfand ! For general knowledge, carlsen is not always keen to play tie-breakers or blitz games. He's astonishingly brilliant but not so fast .

    Everyone keeps saying that this is beautiful,instructive game etc. But I think after watching older matches, I like better the old generation (Tal, Fischer, Kasparov...). This seems so... mechanical to me

    • @minicello231
      @minicello231 7 років тому +1

      I agree, the older generations have more exciting games. Keep in mind, however, that the mechanical and almost boring feel of today's games are a characteristic of the positional style of chess. For example, Petrosian's games were actually called uninteresting by a magazine, since he plays 90% defense. Is it still great chess? Yes. Is it exciting? Not really.

    May be attacking the knight on g4 was a bad step by Carlsen. It always weakens the king side.
