Michael, Chickens, in my experience, don't like citrus flavors. Citrus oil can be used in a stop pecking spray. Also, it can be used to clean the Coop.
Shari I did do a follow up video on the Catnip, it recovered nicely here is a link to the catnip video update. ua-cam.com/video/1_b0Bh7BEsA/v-deo.html The video was taken over several days the fire ants are still gone from this area still today.
I have a problem with small ants in my kitchen and bathroom. I now add a small amount of orange oil to my cleaning supplies and other than a few “scouts” I never have a problem. My house smells great too. I am going to try your method out in the yard now!
@user-rq3rx1op4h Soap penetrates the exoskeleton. Both orange oil and Soap together make a great ant killer as they both are good for killing the ants, but together, they work best, in my opinion. I hope this helps you to better understand. Happy Homesteading.
I have had success using this orange oil mixture to kill/eliminate fire ant mounts.
Ken it's wonderful to have an organic option that actually works. I'm so glad you've had success using this orange oil mixture.
Is this ok to do with chickens and ducks around

did you do a follow up a few weeks or months later to see if the fire ants were gone? and did the catnip plant recover?
