Learn the Palomar Knot, Dave. My uncle taught me that knot decades ago and I never knew the name of it until a couple of years ago. Now I hear that knot is perhaps the best one for tying on hooks, lures, or swivels. Just an idea and I'll swear by it for sure. Thanks, Dave. This trip started out slow and ended up doing alright. I hope you got in the truck before it started raining.
you should bring your guitar and play Dave.. while you fish we would like that you'll get😊more views and get practice.. plus give shout out to JESUS THE CHRIST.. THE TRUTH THE WAY THE LIFE Dave my brother.. God bless you friend happy fishing
Idaho here...I've been using a serrated infomercial miracle blade knife for years. They are cheap and cut right through all baits. Still on my original knife. LOL
Hey Dave. We like the 4hr videos. Although I watch all of them. 4hrs are nice cuz then I don't have to keep searching for something to watch. Just saying
@@jasonsechrist1 all the other knots are better ,,trilene ,,Palomar , uni ,,and many others,,and like you say the improved clinch is good on some kinds of line
@bobbygreen2291 I always pull the line real tight to make sure, a clinch will unravel when you pull it on monofilament line. Those big cats will definitely pull them loose.
@IEchuckie I agree, especially palamar, I've broke them off before because they get hot when you pull them dry from friction. If you tie it correctly it's a strong knot that won't slip, the tighter you pull the stronger it gets.
Wish you could play more of your fiddle mountain music. It’s always uplifting. Thanks for all the work you fo
Big fish tunes 🎶
What I call 2 step yeehaw music. 🎵 Dave is the man.

Hey Catfish Dave, when you watch your graff while trolling, are you using down imaging, side view or 2d? Thanks for the video!!!
I now tie a improved clinch knot. Better for me . Always wet the knot before securing it. Makes a difference
Years ago you made a video showing how to tie a straw snell. Would that have held together?
WOW! first to view and comment
way cool!!!
they are like candy to the big fish
You are to fishing haha
Only 40 minutes,,, LOL!!!
20 years of guiding Dave and I never ever tied a clinch knot ,,they slip
You have to run it back through the top loop.
@@jasonsechrist1- called an improved clinch
@@pdm1289 I've never had one slip tied like that.

Dave this fishing for a living is putting a little weight around your mid section. Lol
Try a palamar knot for catfish hooks.
No matter what knot you tie wet it before pulling it tight.

try to use bullhead if they are legal to use that some of the catfish baits there is but don't cut them up 6 to 8 inches are best
Did you forget to bring your cheese
it had fish, it was a fishing video
You need to give those cheep oily hooks to someone you don't like
