I bought a used B2 dual head kit a few years ago and have considered "upgrading" to the newer A1/A1X and B10. However for me, the portability advantage of the A1X and the modified features of the B10 (less the slightly better battery capacity) just didn't outweigh the usefulness or cost difference of a B2 kit. The only issue that I have had is, actually not the heads or the pack, but rather the batteries. I've had 2 batteries go bad (would not recharge) and Profoto no longer sells replacements. I ultimately found a solution with a battery lab that can rebuild the B2 batteries for a fraction of the cost of what they were new, and now the rebuilt batteries seem to work better (more full power flashes than Profoto's specs) and last longer.
Oh wow, I’ve been lucky with my batteries, but good to know they can be rebuilt
Hello, Where do you rebuild them? Thanks !
I use my B2 regularly. The only wishes I have for a future upgrade: 1) longer cables 2) a little bit more power. like 400ws.
Honestly amazing video! You definitely covered many of the questions I had. I know that this kit would be excellent for me.
Cool
Use my two B2'a with two D2's and love the set up, great flexibility.
Hey, Daniel, could you, please, tell what's plugged into the other guy's iphone, and how broadcast is switched to his phone camera sometimes?
Great video guys and I have to agree. The B2s are excellent. Power and performance meets size and weight. Good balance for mobility. The Godox Ad200 lights are also damn good in this area without the big negative, the wiring.
Maybe a video series about softboxes aka light modifiers would be useful. You know, why is Browcolor "better" aka more expensive than Profoto, Westcott and Photoflex... . Maybe you could present us some of your favorite light modifiers.
I'm the second person to ask this -- what's that adapter Seth has on his iPhone ? looks like something to do a wireless video transfer to his computer ( ? )

Great video love playing with ocf, keep up the good work
Thank you very much for your quick & warm response
🙌🏻🙌🏻
Great video...I just found a used B2 and pack in almost mint condition...had to buy it and add it to my lonely A1. First impressions are that this is a serious light and VERY portable.
Cool! Enjoy
Thanks much for the info👍
Looks like a good kit. How much? Does Profoto work with Panasonic Lumix Gear?
www.adorama.com/pp901110.html - works, but not with TTL
Hi,
I have also had the B2 for years, which I like very much because it is very small, powerful and very robust. But, I hope that Profoto will finally offer an additional flash head to this excellent system, which has an external flash tube, as for example a ProHead. A 50% stronger battery with the same dimensions and a 4.5 m extension cable would be desirable.
Many greetings
That would be cool, but I have a very strong feeling they are phasing out the B2 now
2 Godox AD-200 gives you more power (400WS- either together-or as 2 separate lights at 200 each) in a much more compact/convenient/economical package....hard to justify the B2 in comparison I'm afraid (and I do own and use the larger studio Profotos)
What you are not taking into account is efficiency of light. Even with the same (or more WS) you may not be getting the same amount of actual light. But certainly having 2 heads you can place further apart is an advantage!
Great video thank you :)
Nice video guys . However , unless you’re bought into the Profoto system the Elinchrom ELB 500 makes more sense . One can still get that hybrid flexibility and more power for less $ .
I need a good dual light system. These videos are very helpful.
Great!
What can these b2’s do that the b10 can’t ? How much power comes out of each b2 flash when using 2 together ?
Would you trust the umbrella socket & mount of the B2 with a heavy umbrella like deep XLs? (I appreciate you’d probably want a more powerful light if available but just curious) Thanks!
I would!

Why would you use a magnum reflector on it? There is already a reflector in it....
Mikkel Örstedholm various reflectors have different qualities of light as well as angles of coverage.
Very usefull videos as I'm looking for a dual light system to invest in.
Might be good for you. I like mine a lot
So I have the B2s. The location kit of two. Got them earlier this winter. I also got the speed rings and two Octa 2' softboxes for each of them. I'm aware this system is designed to be so streamlined and just work. At the same time, it's not designed for a true lighting/flash newb like me. I used to be an exclusively natural light guy. I actually haven't been able to figure these out and get out of them what I want. I only used them once and I bounced one off the ceiling, and my image was overexposed, so I put them away.
And that is the problem. Learning a new tool takes time.
Could you please do a getting started video with this b2 set? Nobody has one 😢
Hey Daniel, What is that adapter on the iphone?
It's a bluetooth Microphone receiver.
Awesome, I'm going to look into that. Thanks! BTW, You were right on time and dead on the money with the SH#! gear video also. My extension cables from China from the popular import Speedlight failed on set today. Lucky that it was a personal shoot, I knew that knockoff gear will fail you at some point and this was not a client. I did recover just fine, but your absolutely on time with that message!
Is this compatible with pocket wizard PLUS?
With a sync cord, yes
What's the difference from that remote that you have and the air ttl remote that I have? I only attempted using mine once, and I was a bit frustrated.
There are TTL remotes for various brands and a non TTL remote
can we use two. heads with 250 w power each? or 250 w divided by 2 heads asymmetrically ?
250 divided between the heads
Does it have freeze mode?
I believe so, yes
Is it 250ws for each head? Or when you plug in the second head do you just get a total of 250ws?
250 total for both heads
Thanks! So the second head is perfect for more lights, not more power. I see why Seth was feeling a B1 and a A1. But i love the idea of the small head in a modifier and on a painters pole.
Excellent video - thanks for issuing it. Daniel, you've said on several occasions that if you are only using 1 x B2 head that you have to adjust FEC [when using TTL] from the camera's flash menu rather than the B2's Pack menu, can you please expand on why this is the case?
I'll do a video on that one, a bit much to type!
I wish they made the B2 wireless
I guess the B10 would be that these days
