What bike do you think is the best under the $3000 threshold? I have always been partial to the standard trance for the type of riding we have in the foothills.
I have the Giant Trance 29 2 (2020 model). Love it! Upgraded the pedals, grips, saddle and added protection bits/bobs. Top full sus. I paid £2,600 at the time....
Out of all the cycling content on UA-cam this is my favorite type. Keep posting these review videos and informational videos, it’s like hanging out with your buddy at a bike shop I love it
Good looking rig. I'm still loving my '13 Trance X0, purchased used in '18. The ride is phenomenal & the components (XT) have withstood the test of time & miles (6600). Never engaged the dropper post which eventually seized up, so I tossed it for a rigid Thompson post & couldn't be happier. The Giant rims are truly bombproof! Looking forward to future vids!
I think the Occam is amazing. I got 1 last yr after watching your show and it has not disappointed. It's in for a respray and going for the Audi Nardo Grey , shod look 👏🙀
I'm seeing this bike now for $2,200; what does that do to your rating, and have you encountered another bike in this "class" you would recommend over it?
me and my buddies really liked the performance and plushness of our marzochhi bomber z2 forks. Not to mention the decent price up until we all one by one got the lower legs bushing knocks wherein the only solution is to replace the entire lower leg as the bushing are kinda permanently installed instead of being removeable and replaceable like most other forks from fox or rockshox. I guess we have to wait for the z3.
Thanks for the review! I'm looking to get into mountain biking and considering this one as my first bike. But then I came across the Canyon Neuron 6. Which one would you say is a better one?
This is a great primer for this bike! They might be available here at my end. Well, I hope so. Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines! #RideOn #KeepBiking
So I just watched your review of the 2021 Trance 29 3 and this one. I know that the components are nearly the same on both bikes with the flip chip being the big difference. What are your thoughts on getting the 2021 29 3 at a discount ($2200 USD out the door) compared to about $2900 for the 2022 trance 2? I’m 6’2 and long arms so I like the longer reach on the 2022 but not sure if it and the flip chip should be a deal breaker… thoughts?
The new Merida one sixty and one forty look interesting on their website price wise also check out the storage compartment at the bottom of the frame I’m looking and thinking isn’t that where you’d fit a motor on an ebike? Also giant should enter the lightweight emtb market too I think, they must have something going on.
I haven’t seen many Merida bikes in the states since they aren’t widely distributed in the US. I’m with you on the lightweight ebike market. I haven’t heard anything but I have to think Giant is working on something. The Orbea Rise has been killing it in my area!
@@MossieRidesBikes Giant yeah they must have something but take a look at the one sixty on Merida’s website scroll to the bottom of the page I’m think they might do a similar thing to trek with the fuel ex and fuel exe looking almost the same.
Can you answer my question?🤔. I have a 2021 Giant trance advance pro 29-1. Would it be possible to convert it, into a trance X? I want to increase rear maestro suspension travel from 115mm to maybe 130 or 140 mm rear suspension travel. Also I want to increase the front fork from 130mm to 150mm. Is that possible?🤔. I appreciate your input. Thank you.
Monetarily it is definitely worth it. You are getting a nicer fork and complete drivetrain for the price difference. If you plan on riding the bike stock for a couple of years and then maybe doing a few upgrades I would go for the 1.
My 20" bmx is about 30lbs so hearing 32 sounds very light for a MTB. I was never a weight weenie though. Went for sturdy parts but light wheels and frame.
Man, wish I have spare cash, I'd get Trance 2. Seems like great bike for the price. But it seems like I'd have to wait for 2024 to get the new bike, because of the reasons 😁 I wonder will prices go bit down by then or we'd get better spec for current prices. It would be great just to swap brakes to at least Deore instead Tektros and maybe go to Deore crankset instead praxis. You think situation on the market will be any better than now? In case there isn't escalation with Russia or China invades Taiwan by then.... Btw, do you think Trance 2 is great bike for all day peddling in the woods? I know it's not XC bike, but it seems like decent climber and bike that's comfortable for epic rides...
Yeah for the price, like some other comments, I prefer the Occom H30!! Spec wise is similar but the Occom looks much better. The smooth welds make you look twice to see if it actually carbon!!
I purchased a 2020 trance the dropper broke the first week the shop Jupiter cycles in Jupiter Florida sent it to Giant they told me Giant would send me a replacement it was obviously no visible damage it actually happened as i was whiling while on the saddle and it snapped and had side to side movement well long story short it is now almost October 2023 and I’m still waiting on my replacement i checked with them every month for 2 years and finally gave up tried contacting Giant but that’s impossible anyway I’ll never ever purchase a Giant ever again.

I appreciate that! It's what I'm striving for

Still also riding my 13 trance x0 converted to a mullet
Got this for $3700 NZD down from $5200 as my first full sus. Man this bike is insane!
I've just got the Orbea Occam H30 for 2050GBP. GOTTA SAY....it's pretty good value and rather unique amongst the plethora of Treks and Giants
I couldn’t agree more!
I got an Occam last yr... its awesome
Picking this bike up in a few days, sold my stance 1 which was great but brakes, forks and 3 years of abuse had toll. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for this review and your honest feedback about it. It’s in my price range, but I’m not there yet. 👍

I’m glad you like it. That color is going to look great on the Occam!

Great video on details very informative 👍
That stealth gray color 😍
Even if I don’t like the paint scheme I do love the gray!

I own the 2022 Trance X3 in 27.5....... What a beast.
I'm buying that one too! What do you like and dislike??

Maray na banggi kapatid! Just thought I would say kumasta just picked up this model three months ago.

Heavy as crap? I thought that was light for a full suspension aluminum bike. santa cruz aluminum version tallboy is like 35lbs
Is it worth upgrading to the trance 1?

I didn't think 32.xx lbs was too bad for a Medium aluminum.
Considering I was comparing it to Polygon it's actually a bit lighter!! LOL. Weight is relative.
My large trance x29 2 2023 with sealant out from the store was more like 34.9lbs with that hateful rock shox 35

My trance x 29 came with a SRAM chain, anyway I throwed it away and replaced with a gold kmc x12, as it should come from the factory 😂

LBS is trying to clear out old inventory and is selling this model for $1400. Thinking of going for it.
$1,400! Where? Not familiar with "LBS" what's it stand for?
@@geraldgolen9157 LBS = local bike shop. It sold.
Thanks for the weight. The first gens were lighter.
Why doesn’t it have the Giant logo on the body?
It’s all apart of a new design effort from Giant. A lot of their other bikes (road and off road) have a much more subdued graphics approach to them.
Good taste.
I hear Syd's background music
Wow its a beaut

Is this brand better than trek ??
is just as good.
