Defamed is good, but I wouldn’t put them at the top of the deathcore list quite yet. They have 4 songs out so far, so if they put out a full album and it’s amazing, I’ll consider it. The Wind Covenant album would be sick too. Listened to Drowned in Sulphur’s new song and it’s not nearly as good as what Defamed is putting out, so good on them. Deathcore has definitely been reping some sick stuff the last few years.
@@Nosh69696 Well, they’ve put out 4 singles in a row... which used to be unthinkable and still, usually the max is 3 single->album anymore. Still plenty of bands in need to look into/go through their discography, but I have my favorites. Shadow of Intent and Fit for an Autopsy are definitely at the top for me currently. Lorna Shore’s album earlier this year was a highlight (even though the mix on the drums was amazing and the guitars got a bit muddled in a lot of the songs). Shrine of Malice is pretty up there, looking forward to more Slaughter to Prevail, Brand of Sacrifice, guessing To the Grave, Carcosa, and Signs of the Swarm will be putting out some good stuff going into 2021, looking forward to some more Humanity’s last breath, haven’t been a big fan of Chelsea Grin, but the last 2 singles are good (nothing mind blowing, but compared to their last album, I’m enjoying it a lot more). Idk if you could really classify a lot of it as deathcore, but I liked Whitechapel’s last album (haven’t gone back to it much, but I liked it). Tbh, I haven’t liked Thy Art in years and their album last year solidified that for me. Acacia Strain’s 2019 album was alright too... never loved their sound, but it’s not bad. Rings of Saturn had a couple bangers in their album last year too. RIP Black tongue, at least Spite is still going strong and Traitors is... well, polarizing. *ignoring Suicide Silence, Make Them Suffer, w/e the fuck Within Destruction’s last album was, and Emmure*. I’d include Hollow Prophet, but they’re a bit more on the slam side I feel... TLDR: Deathcore has a lot going on
