  • The Kra Canal could have transformed global shipping. Yet, despite being revisited over the centuries, it remains unbuilt. Now, however, the Thai government supports the $36 billion Mega Land Bridge Project, which features two new deep-water ports in Ranong in the west and Chumphon in the east, acting as major international shipping hubs. In this video, we explore why the Kra Canal never took off and consider whether a land bridge might be a better solution.
