Can't wait for Again, but Better! It's definitely on my to-be-preordered list. You should call your other book Not Again, when you talk about it in videos. Because, it's like...not a sequel so you won't be revisiting that story again, but it's also...not Again, but Better. (Sorry I couldn't resist)
obviously you cant do it now, but after the book comes out could you take us through your process of writing again but better? like where you started in the book and different things you've learned from writing it. I want to start writing but I have no clue how to start! (specifically in character development)
Agreeing with everyone out here that you motivate me everytime you post a writing update video! Can you tell us something about your writing schedule? Is it a spefic time of the week/day? Do you set a goal for x amount of minutes writing or x amount of words written? Excited for your two books!
Yes. Us future New York times bestsellers must STICK TOGETHER! Click TOGETHER! And learn TOGETHER! THANK YOU Christine..... You're doing it for all of us. We're behind you!
I just wanna say, your work ethic and ability to actual finish your own book is a huge - daily - motivator for me to keep at it myself. So thank you for that ^^ And I *can't wait* to read your book!
these videos make me 10x more excited tO READ THIS BOOOOK OMG 🎊 also i can see how happy writing makes you and it really puts a smile on my face that you're getting to pursue it 💖
So excited for Again, But Better and your new book! When I have intruding thoughts about a new project while I'm in the middle of something, I like to just write down as much as I can about it, whether that's ideas or scenes or whatever, then get back to my current project. It helps to get the idea down so you're not holding it all in your head and lets you focus on whatever your current project is.
It’s so wonderful to see you clearly loving what you do! Your happiness with writing & creating makes me ever more excited for when I finally find what truly suits me.
I ABSOLUTELY know what you’re talking about when you say you know what you want to write but don’t know how to actually do it!!! I’m so happy for all the exciting things happening to you right now, you deserve it :))
So good to know it's normal to write without an outline. They make such a big deal of it in school but it just doesn't work for everyone 😖 True that my essays/stories almost always end up going in a completely different direction, but I don't think that's a bad thing! 😅
Yaaaay for the new edits!! As for the new book something that Stephen King says always feels true to me. He says that he doesn't have like a notebook or doesn't write ideas because he thinks that if you think that about an idea long enough that that one will be the good one and your mind filters all the bad Inés le the ideas that don't fit your story, so I think it's good that you're not writing anything, it will make the characters better because you will have been with them for so long. Can't wait to read your book!!
I just wanna read it! I get so excited for it every time you post one of these! And I also just want the cover 😂 I’m glad writing makes you so happy! ❤️
i’m working on a rough book idea with a friend and we got pretty far today. after we finished a creative day i see this, it made me smile. i love hearing updates from you and your triumphs in the book world. thank you so much for sharing your journey💖💖
I had to stop the video, come here and leave a comment... because what you said about writing the first two chapters, not in really "writing down", but actually hearing the characters talking... that's exactly what I do. Sometimes I have so much of the story done, before I really get to sit and type.
It always feels so great to be able to watch your journey of writing a book. It's really inspirational, especially when you talk about the harder times and the moments when you're stuck. I get them more than the happy parts, probably XD But it makes me genuinely happy to watch your dream - which is also mine - come true, so THANK YOU, CHRISTINE.
I absolutely can't wait for your book! I know it'll be great and I wish you the best of luck with your new edits :) As a fan of your channel since 2011 it's awesome to see you so passionate about your book, keep up the awesome work!
That writing advice (the idea that it will come to you eventually) made me so much more positive about the book I'm trying to write. There's just this one character I don't seem to be able to get right because her situation is so much different to the rest of the characters. Thank you so much for your videos: they make my days great and I'm uber excited to read your book!
So excited Christine! I have been watching you for a while now, and you have inspired me to start writing a book of my own!!! I cannot wait to see the story that you bring to life in your book!
I have been watching you since I’ve been in middle school and when your book is getting released I’ll be graduating! You’re literally the only UA-camr I’ve stuck by for so long❤️
I honestly cannot wait to read this book! And am looking forward to seeing your writing blogs for the second book, thank you for sharing your journey with us!
This is so freaky. Almost every video I've watched recently--yours, other authors--has talked about pantsing and your own personal writing process. My best friend/co-author/critique partner and I have each had our own epiphanies about our writing processes. We both discovered we hate outlining, too! We're both like you--we want to write "the actual words," as you put it. Now, I will say that creating an outline did help us figure out where our plot holes were and things like that. However, we did our outline AFTER we wrote the story, not before. Since then, we've tried outlining other stories before writing them, and it killed our motivation to write. It sucked the fun out of it for us. Once we ditched the idea that we "had" to have everything mapped out before diving into the story, we both got back in our grooves. It's so funny how you mentioned wanting to work on your second book while you were waiting for your edits on Again But Better to come back. I had a similar problem recently. I've been working hard on self-editing the first novel in the series that my bestie and I have co-written. I had been trying really hard to stick to working on just that book and to do so in order, following the outline from beginning to end. However, I have since discovered that my brain absolutely refuses to work that way consistently. After a while, it tends to jump around in the timeline. I'll have scenes running through my head that belong in the second, third, or fourth book in the series, or of events that happen in the prequel trilogy. (We've been working on this series for years, so yeah, we've got enough material for seven books!) When I tried to make myself stick to the outline and plow through the part where I was stuck, it didn't work. BUT when I gave myself permission to write those scenes that were playing out in my head all the time, it broke my writer's block and I was able to get back to work on that part. So, yeah, if you feel like working on your second book even while you're editing Again But Better, I say go for it! There's no law that says you have to write/edit just one book at a time. If we'd tried to do that from the beginning, my bestie and I never would've come up with as much material as we have. We'd probably still be stuck on Chapter 1 of book one! Sorry for the long-winded comment, but I couldn't help myself, just had to share. Congrats on getting to where you are with your writing, and best of luck! PS--Love your writing playlist songs, especially this one! ABBA is awesome! :D
As a film student whose struggling w/ everything related to being on set, u admitting that u didn't like it makes me feel better. Here's the thing though: The fact that I'm a horrible director makes me want to do it more. Does that make sense? Probably not. Anyway, congrats on ur second book idea clicking 4 u. If u prefer a miniseries over movies, I hope your book gets optioned by British filmmakers 'cause they've mastered miniseries in a way that we Americans haven't yet.
I started writing a second full draft of my book (i've done edits but this is like a whole new thing) and I'm SO EXCITED, I was worried because a lot of the conversations were repeated but if I edited them out then my book would barely be a full lengthed novel but yesterday I figured out a whole side plot that not only would add words but would fill in the one plot hole I had in the main plot YAY!! And yay for your book too, I can't wait to read Again But Better!!
Christine! I love your book writing series so much! It has inspired me to start writing my own book that I've been thinking about for years! Are you going to make a writing playlist of all your songs for us after you are done editing your first book?
I really wanna read this book like holy I can't wait!!!! Also I'd just like to thank you for making these videos because you have inspired me to write the story that's been playing in my head and it's felt like i've been on this journey with you!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
Great video Christine! I know I'm a little late to the party here, but I love these videos! I feel the same about writing, I don't do an outline either, I just fly off by the seat of my pants so to speak and I write whatever is on my mind. I outline for school assignments, and it works, but not for book writing. I'm trying it now and it's sort of working, I also don't understand acts either, which is probably why my book was so long! I was taught at my conference about publishing and marketing. It was interesting to hear from your point of view about publishing! Good luck with the book Christine and I can't wait for 2019!
Not gonna lie, when I feel lost with my own manuscript, I put on your writing playlist to channel your enthusiasm. Thank you for sharing your journey with us!
oh my gosh as you talked about writing and how everyone gets a different meaning from a book in this video, you reminded me in every way so much of taylor swift. and believe me that’s the highest compliment i can give haha
Getting started is the hardest thing for me. I have the entire story planned out. All the way to the ending. But i cant get started EVER. So then i start a new story, because my mind is always working. So now i have over 45 book ideas and plots written down but not a single chapter
These writing videos are so much fun to watch. Good luck on hearing the characters of your second book, don't think there is a cure for that but penmanship. :) :) :)
I can't wait to get your book! You've worked so hard and I think it's really gonna pay off!!! These videos were very entertaining for me to watch. I'm an aspiring author too, and this helps me a lot. I get stuck outlining also lol! I love you! Is it 2019 yet?!?😫

these videos give me inspiration to finish my own book ... i gave myself a final deadline of the end of the year. if its not done by then ... then its over. (ive been working on it on and off for 5 years... lol)

Take a Chance on me is a song I'm quickly becoming re-obsessed with, so when I heard it in your writing video...
That very last second is gold

I've been reverse! I thought that being a screenwriter was what I wanted to be, but throughout film school I've realized I want to be on set!!
I really want to be good at set things
please do a writing tips video!!
2:23 I think we all go through a 'No Time Caution' moment in our lives.
Good luck chugging it through with Again But Better! Stay resilient 💪
thank you! =)
Yours is the only book I'm actually interested in reading by a booktuber. Even the title is funny I mean ! Thats a great start ahahha
So excited to eventually hold your book in my hands after following this writing series for so long!
Omg!! I have been listening to that song nonstop! You danced the way I drive to that song!
YOU ARE KILLING THIS BOOK WRITING GAME AND I AM SO PROUD OF EVERYTHING YOU'RE ACCOMPLISHING!!!
Christine! I love your book writing series so much! It has inspired me to start writing my own book that I've been thinking about for years! Are you going to make a writing playlist of all your songs for us after you are done editing your first book?
I can't wait to read your book!!! I'm gonna read it AGAIN BUT the second time I read it, it will be BETTER!! 😁😅
"agian but better" lmao can't wait to see it!

I'm a mix of a planner and a pantser. I plan enough to have a direction but often leave scenes open for things to just happen organically.
AGAIN BUT BETTER IS GONNA ROCK
When you do write that next book keep making this type of videos! I love them!
These are my favorite videos!! It helps inspire me to keep writing my book! Thank you
These always get me more and more excited for your book!

Great video Christine! I know I'm a little late to the party here, but I love these videos! I can't wait to read Again But Better!
oh my gosh as you talked about writing and how everyone gets a different meaning from a book in this video, you reminded me in every way so much of taylor swift. and believe me that’s the highest compliment i can give haha
Getting started is the hardest thing for me. I have the entire story planned out. All the way to the ending. But i cant get started EVER. So then i start a new story, because my mind is always working. So now i have over 45 book ideas and plots written down but not a single chapter
I always wanted to be a writer but I never had the talent, I’m very happy for you Christine
These writing videos are so much fun to watch. Good luck on hearing the characters of your second book, don't think there is a cure for that but penmanship. :) :) :)
2:30 I’ve definitely had those epiphanies while working on the novel I’m working on now and it feels exactly like that 😂

Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration!! Can't wait!!Slay!!!💕✨👌
I can't wait to get your book! You've worked so hard and I think it's really gonna pay off!!! These videos were very entertaining for me to watch. I'm an aspiring author too, and this helps me a lot. I get stuck outlining also lol! I love you!
Is it 2019 yet?!?😫
I too struggle with outlining and what I’ve found easiest (because outlines save lives) is you write the outline as if your MC is being interviewed. What I mean by that is you have him/her basically tell the story of what goes on in the book. However the outline will change because the book will change so personally I don’t always like outlining but that’s what I do when I’m working on one project but get ideas for another.
Please release your writing playlist once your book is released!
Okay can we all agree that the song part is amazing every time? Like i can watch you do that for an hour it is so entertaining!!!! And i honestly can't wait for your book!! Are you going to be able to pick the cover?
AAAHH I can't wait to read it! What genre will your book be?

these videos give me inspiration to finish my own book ... i gave myself a final deadline of the end of the year. if its not done by then ... then its over. (ive been working on it on and off for 5 years... lol)

Take a Chance on Me!! SO GREAT! Also just wanted to say that these videos are so helpful when I try to write, so thank you!
