Mine started talking when he was 10 months old. His first word was peekaboo. Then after that he wouldn't stop. He would say things like , " give me kiss give me kiss.. ummah", " what you doing", " thank you", "no benzy no", " BENZY!" But sadly he passed a few months later due to an accident! I still miss him.. He was so smart, sweet and sassy
I got my lutino inr just last week. I’m spending a lot of time with him. He is 7 months old. So far he has not made a peep but he is beginning to bond with me. Plus he is going through his bluffing stage so I believe that the combo of his young age, new home and bluffing is why he has been so quiet. He is beautiful and I can not wait to fully bond with him
@@Riccothegreenpiedirn thank you for all your videos. I have plenty of experience with birds but this is my first irn. Your videos have been very helpful. I just hope that I don’t turn out to have the quietest irn on earth lol. I hope as he matures and settles in that he becomes more vocal
@@joewarrick6043 Oh enjoy the quiet time while you have it, it doesn’t last for long 😂. His personality will come out and he will start to chatter when you least expect it. He’s just taking it all in for now lol.
I have Spyro for a year now. I got him when he was 1 year old. He didn't make a single noise (no beep or chirp, nothing) until the last 2 months.. And only when I'm not in the room. But little by little he opens up more. He was not hand raised and kept in an aviary with other ringnecks, so he was kind of wild when I just got him. But I've made a lot of progress. He is very sweet and playful and doesn't bite. I don't expect him to talk but maybe after another year our bond might be stronger than today.
@@sci-fiviewer9259 well he was trying to break everything in the cage, perch, toys bowls.. Pacing on the ceiling of the cage. I had newspapers on the bottom, he ripped everything up, and he was kicking the little woodchips out of the cage making a mess, on top of that if I stood near the cage he was flapping all over the cage being scared to the point he almost hurt himself. So it was quite the process. It took about 2 months before he started to adjust and calm down. I'm just trying to say that owners will need to have patience with these beautiful birds. I've read somewhere that it can take up to 2 years before they fully accept you when they are not tame or hand raised.
The first thought that came to mind was "3 months to 1 year" but it really depends on the bird. Some may never talk, and some may speak full fledged sentences.
My home health aide started working here two years ago and my Quaker Parrot didn't even know her at all! Out of the blue he said Abbie come here! This is was when he was 12 years old that she came to be my home health aide. This year he told her to come here! So honestly I do not believe parrots never stop learning how to talk it out and he's 14 years old now!
Wow 14 years old, that’s incredible. I love hearing stories like this. The more you interact with a pet, the more they will in return. He’s sounds adorable 🥰
Does a yellow ringneck parrot not talk ? I've bought one she was I believe 1 year n some months but doesn't talk except for sound when she wants to be cuddle n if you talk to her she opens n closes her beak but no sound at that time. Plz help. Thanks
It doesn’t matter on the colour or gender, it just depends on the bird. How long have you had you bird for? Every bird is different just like us humans and some just never pick up on talking. It also takes time and other things to consider.
If you do want a ringneck parrot just be prepared he/she may never talk. They may have the ability to talk, but doesn’t mean they will. Every bird will be different just like us humans. As for training, you can train them at any age, however getting a baby may be easier. The only guaranteed way of getting a bird to talk is getting one that already talks and is trained. Hope that helps.
I have one ring neck parrot 9month he is hand tame and some times he bite he is hand tame can he learn talking he is 9 month old and when he will learn pls reply
They can learn to talk at any age but it’s not always guaranteed that they will. Here is a video I made on how to teach your bird to talk 👉ua-cam.com/video/pzUOiGk4J-Q/v-deo.html Hopefully it will help
I got my ringneck when she was 2 weeks old, I hand fed and raised her, now she is 5 month old she is very aggressive bits me all the time and chase my cockatiels. The only time she seems calm and harmless is when she sleeps next to me. What should I do to make her stop biting and less aggressive 😔
Is she biting you always? As far as the cockatiels go she just may not like them, not all birds get along. It also could be that she is bonded to you and looks at the other birds as a threat. Did you get her after the cockatiels or before? She could also be going through the bluffing stages, I have a video all about it in my playlist.
I have baught an Indian ringneck parrot 1 month ago he was 6 months old when i baught him . Can you please make a video on how to tame a 7 months old parrot .
Aww congratulations. It takes time and patience. It took me 1 year for Ricco to fully trust me. I’m working on some other videos, so hopefully I will be able to soon. Just keep talking to your bird softly and interact with your bird slowly. Use treats and foods as positive reinforcement 😊 I have a video up in my playlist called how to bond with your bird, it might help you in the meantime. Hope that helps.
