  • Kraljic matrix was developed by peter kraljic in 1982. The main agenda or the objective of kraljic matrix is to evaluate or analyze procurement process and segment your products, items and even services for better decision making.
    There are 4 areas or categories in kraljic matrix
    a) Non critical items
    b) Leverage items
    c) Bottleneck items
    d) Strategic items
    items are categorized in all above four mentioned areas.
    On X axis flows the supplier risk means the availability of product in a market, and on Y axis flows the profit means the cost and benefit of product to an organisation.

      @@SupplyChainDoctrine actually dyes/chemicals and packaging materials easily available hote hai but the main thing is k inka taluk direct primary product SE hota hai aur dosra ye k Aapne Kaha k ya as per theory k non technical items main profit kum hota hai even ye easily available hote hai products to aise product main supplier risk kum hone ki wja se profit zyada Hona chahye due to negotiation

      For example jis chemical ko ya dyes ko ap easy available keh rhe hain, and if the products are easy available, and suppliers b bht saray hain then ap aisi products non critical items mai nominate kr de.
      But agar wohi chemicals ya dyes due to government policies, international trade issues, supplier availability issue agar easily milna band hojaen gi to ap unhe foran bottleneck ya strategic items mai nominate kr den gay.
      But again ye dependent hai k un chemicals ka ya dyes ka role kya hai ap k production process mai, aur zaruri nahi hota k har dyes strategic role play kre, kuch dyes ya chemicals bht kam use kiye ja rhe hote hain, in a sense of their requirement in production or manufacturing.
      For example, toilet paper hain wo general environment mai to ap non critical mai nominate kren gay, but think about the condition which happen in America during covid, wohi toilet papers bottleneck ya strategic items mai convert ho gaye thy because of thr availability.
      So the bottom line is k ap kisi bhi product ko jb in 4ro categories mai se kisi bhi category mai fall krwate hain to ap apni need dekhte hain, us product ki importance dekhte hain, market mai availability dekhte hain, supplier cost dekhte hain,aur in k ilawa b agar koi factors hain jo k ap ki supply ko interrupt kr skte hain to wo bhi consider kiye jate hain
