I got my first bike when I was an art student in Colchester, that was over 40 years ago. Had a few hundred bikes since then but this brings back some great memories. In their earlier premises I pxed my FZR1000 for my first Fireblade in 1994 - it was stolen within the year.
Hahaha Rolls up their window from the scary bikers!, I remember back in the day doing exactly what you're doing now, Sundays was fir voing to Bike shops & meets then a pub lunch, but in the Brighton area, Went from my first ride an AR125 up to the GPZ 305 in 1985 , Still on Kawasaki
I would recommend the z500 as I have had the z400 for over three years and it is almost the most fun bike I have owned. My first bike was the zxr400 like the one in the shop but in purple instead of green. That was the most fun bike I have owned. I can’t speak highly enough of my z400 though it really is a great bike. The z500 is not different enough for me to consider changing it, plus I have made a few mods to mine that make more suited for me.
Been there several times the cafe n food was great, the bikes sales people service was shocking ! Very poor no wonder ya closing if the bike sales was anythink to go by.
Bought my last 5 bikes from them 2 secondhand and the last 3 new unfortunately there business plan is ultimately flawed heavily discounted new bikes the cheapest around but servicing costs were astronomical making people go elsewhere they never quite got the balance right of repeat business also zero on line presence as in UA-cam content which I find surprising for such a large dealership there’s no shortage of money in Colchester to sustain this business if properly managed which unfortunately it wasn’t.

@@presstodelete1165 a few hundred? Damn I'm on two haha. Did you ever get the fire blade back?
What a shame, this is so sad tbh. More dealers closing up. Got my Z900RS there last year, impressive place and nice staff.
It's just been announced that Hyside Ducati will be a Kawasaki dealer starting next year! But the loss of Colchester is sad.

You know it! Being on a bike instantly makes you scary haha. Stay safe out there!
That ZX4R... they wanted £10,000 for that, not a penny less. 😂

That's good to hear and I would love to have a go on a ZXR400. Maybe I'll show this to James and he'll end up with a Z500.
Used CK for decades... last quote for one service on one of my bikes was over 400... top up oil not replacing... they lost a loyal customer that day.
Colchester Kawasaki... I part exchanged my ZX6R there, 17k miles... they advertised and sold it with 9k miles... 😂
i traded my zx6r for a z900. miss the 17k redline of the zx6r but love the z900
@@motosteggy3980 well I hope you keep enjoying the Z900

I've heard stories shall I say.
That's why all these dealers going bust. Dreamers just looking...
People aren't going to buy a bike if they can't afford it. Also this was a destination dealer, made for visiting, hence the cafe and shops inside.
should defo go to ducati croydon, bring your locks though😂
@@675Fletch alright will do at some point and thanks for the heads up 🤣

@@joebloggs1583 Now that you mention it. It is odd they never had a UA-cam channel with them being such a large presence.
