Actually its wrong. You choose factions at the end. First you have to setup board, techs and with all informations visible, then you choose your faction. Its a big difference.

@@GamesMadeEasy You're welcome :) Some factions are much better than others on different setups, so taking right faction in particular circumstances is a big decision, and really significant to play well. On high level play you even have to bid for factions, and player taking factions with highest bids got penalty points at beginning.
