I have a deviated septum and it’s very annoying because it’s accompanied by very frequent stuffy nose, especially at night. I find myself waking up a lot because I can’t breathe through my nose at all sometimes. Gonna have the surgery for it. They actually take out the septum and shave off some more bone inside and sew it back in, it’s crazy
That's good to hear. I hope your surgery goes well and you heal without problems. A word of caution, don't ever resort to nasal sprays for relief with the congestion. I won't lie, they work extremely effectively and within a matter of minutes. But the problem is, the more you use them, the worse your congestion gets when you don't use them. And you end up so congested that you literally can't suck any air into your nose what so ever and you feel like you're suffocating to death. Especially while trying to sleep because you close your mouth every time you start falling asleep and can't breathe. It's awful and not worth the few hours of relief at all.

I just had mine fixed on Thursday, and my surgeon used a minimally invasive technique to get between the lining of the septum and straighten it without having to break it or cause bruising or anything. @@randomness3235 It felt like I got punched in the nose for the first 36 hours or so, but after that it really wasn't bad at all (though very bloody). Two weeks out and my nose is still a bit tender to the touch, but really not a big deal. I do want to clarify, though: I did NOT have the traditional procedure that involves breaking the nose and lots of packing-I had a minimally invasive office procedure under IV anesthesia (along with a turbinate reduction and balloon sinuplasty), and my septum was impressively deviated so it took some work. The newer technique makes a small incision in the lining of the septum and uses tools to reposition it. I'm only 2 weeks post-op but I didn't realize how messed up my nose was until I suddenly realized breathing was way easier after getting it fixed. I have that too, some people who had had surgery said that it worked at the beginning, but after few years the bony tissue somehow grew back and blocked the nasal passage gradually.
Most people have them, super common and usually non-problematic. I had one, and my ENT drilled a hole laterally thru mine. I still suffer from horrible congestion and sinus issues
Had surgery for a deviated septum and sinuses that were so swollen I could not breath through my nose. What a difference after surgery. I had been a mouth breather for most of my life. It was life changing surgery.
For some people it does. My doctor told me that some people get no effect at all, and some can go maybe 6-12 months before returning to normal. But I think it depends on what was causing the problem. I had a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates. They fixed the septum and reduced the turbinates, so even if my septum deviates again, it will not close off because the turbinates are smaller
My operation didn't work, so they had me in again and re-did it. That was 40 years ago! It's still deviated, and I wear a Breatheright sticker on top of my nose every night which really helps. Now I have sleep apnoea as well, just to add to the fun
I had surgery on mine and it was the most painful surgery, I woke up immediately in the worst pain ever. I woke up and yelled “what the fluck” the nurse was like, “you’re not the only one here honey.” It’s painful but better now❤
I have a severe deviated septum and doctors refuse to do anything about it. They constantly trry to do "Non invasive" surgeries and things, or prescribe me sinus sprays etc. I will usually start going to specialists hoping they will push for corrective surgery so I can finally breath, but 3-4 $200 a pop appointments(after insurance) and various small procedures and prescribed allergy meds later I give up for another few years. I kind of hate ENT's.

Wow just soo fascinating to watch despite a doctor myself it’s still amaze me each time on every anatomical videos of yours❤️🇬🇧
Deviated septum gang wya?

I started wearing those nose strips at night about a year ago and it’s a game changer as far as sleep/breathing quality.
Man the precision of such a cut is amazing.
How intricately well crafted the tools must be to perform such a task
Imagine being the guys who did a rift cut on a dead human body.

Love what you do. I learn so much. DD
I suffer from a deviated septum. I am shocked that my doctors never suggested a separation of that. It would have saved me so much suffering.
He's gonna be so mad when he wakes up
I had that, I had it cut, out, the worst night of my life after, to recover, but now I can breath freely, is amazing !
dude: "Id like to donate my body to science"
doctor: "bet"
ghost: "NOT PUBLICLY"
I just can’t get over that that’s someone’s dad, mom, grandma, grandpa son or daughter. I know it helps science in the long run but🫣
This is what I expect when I see a therapist. Need them to open my brain up and see what the heck is wrong in there
Had surgery for a deviated septum and sinuses that were so swollen I could not breath through my nose. What a difference after surgery. I had been a mouth breather for most of my life. It was life changing surgery.
I thought that said "devastated septum" and now I have a great track name.
I'm just tryna think of who to send this to on a Saturday night at 2am
That's a great sample for learning neurostructures. Very good cut.
50% of the comments: I also have a deviated septum.
Other 50%: that was a person, with dreams and nightmares and shit.
This looks so beautiful. See how clear the corpus callosum, falx cerebri, fornix and brain stem structures are well preserved.
Giving my body to the medical school when I die
Dude was alive at one point 💀
I laughed

It's actually amazing how they were able to perfectly cut the cadaver
People say even if u get a Surgery after some time it becomes how it was before..
How do you do such clean cuts on a cadaver?
saws. no joke, they use saws
I had this, amazing to see what the surgeon had to cut through to fix it!! Amazing!! Great job as usual
Love your videos. I have learned amazing things!!
I find anatomy fascinating, but when I see this I still can't help but just think of what kind of soup stock this would make.
I had surgery on mine and it was the most painful surgery, I woke up immediately in the worst pain ever. I woke up and yelled
“what the fluck” the nurse was like, “you’re not the only one here honey.”
It’s painful but better now❤
Kurt earned my respect 🤘🫡🎱🍀❤️
I am a doctor and your videos helping me a lot. Thanks man
Thanks!
No problem!
Thank you for your service, Michael.
Thank you!! I’ve been trying to find this!! Now I understand what’s going on in there!
Can you do a video on how to take the bodys apart? How you cut them up and maybe show us how it's being done? Morbid but would be so cool to see!
Your videos are interesting and informative. 👍🏼
Wow, it's amazing to see all the organs and body parts in real life not just a picture.
I dont know the word to describe what a feel looking at this, "Unsettling" is simply an understatement
These videos make me feel so vulnerable 😂 . it’s pretty cool though
I had a deviated septum for years and finally had a septoplasty two years ago. Changed my life. So thankful I can finally breathe.
I know they donated their body to science and it's what they wanted, but it's still really fucking me up to know this was a human being that lived a whole life and that someone probably loved.
Every Human is loved by someone.
But yes, that is crazy to think about.
But also, very Interesting to see inside this wonderwork of nature!
Wish him a speedy recovery
For some reason it does sort of a calming effect on me
Congrats bro, u r a bit of psycho......like me😁😁😁
@@pdf16500 No, non of us, it's just due to the magnificent smell of dried flesh that my dog usually eats as a tasty treat. I am simply used to expect the same sweet aroma from dried human skin, as a mammal's flesh, obviously, does not differ much in any state ( visually )
Thanks for showing this! Love it🤓
LOVE YOUR CONTENT! This is very interesting. Could you show us a cadavers septum that’s abused drugs to show the effects on the septum?
Honestly if you donated yourself you better pray this guy gets you they do wild ass shit with them bodies
Bro realized he never woke up after sleeping first at sleepover 💀
Had one of those. REALLY made it Hell to get to sleep.
But since my operation to correct it, I have a hole through my septum that a pencil could easily fit through.
Can you do a video on the pineal gland. Thanks
Thank you so much , this I really needed to see. WOW!!
That could be my grandfather I think. He donated his corpse to science.
I know that head, *that’s my friend Tom.*
What's wrong in making video on donated human body?
These bodies are not used for research. They are mainly used for medical students learning anatomy. This is nothing new for medical students. However, it's really good that everyone can access such info , all thanks the person who donated body and who make such informative videos!
Keep it up!
I am planning on donating my body once in done with it (if they accept it) I've downloaded the required forms and hand told my family of my wishes.
You could say, he's got a split personality.
