I feel the same about Sleep Token, I love them but I don't know why because alot of what they do is not my thing but the way they do it just somehow works and I love it.

And by the way on this album Carl Brown and vessel are the producers. It's not George lever on this one.
Even though I love Vessel's voice, I quite understand other people not liking it. I had a similar experience with Nightwish. Even though I acknowledge that Tarja is an incredible vocalist, I just couldn't get into her voice. Two songs in a row was my limit. Her voice just left me cold. Since Floor joined, I now find that I really like them, including the old songs that Tarja used to sing! Liking a vocalists voice is huge in whether you can get into a band and it is so subjective and sometimes inexplicable! Stay safe 🤘 ✌️
I agree, not all music/singers are for everyone. I think it sounds better in the live performances personally. Rumor has it he’s classically trained multi instrument musician & singer and I’m of the opinion that everything they do is intentional for the lore.

There should only be 2 labels for music..good music and bad music lol. Why would musicians want to be boxed into one style or formula. I've been waiting many yeara for a band like sleep token to come out. I just got into them a few months ago. Im also a musician and I've been mixing different genres together for yrs..but not as well or extreme as how st do it. To me,vessel and II are musical geniuses.
Personal opinion again, due to music in current status...I'm inclined to believe that not all artists are in the industry due to their love of the craft, but look at it as a financial opportunity...do what sells...again, Personal opinion. For those who love music for what it is, yes...good or bad boxes. Pleeze don't come for me:)
Well sleep token are definitely not doing this to make money. They don't write full pop songs. I doubt any commercial radio station will play and 8 min song lol. Like yeah,vessel is talentes enough to be a pop star. Not his thing.

He did..once on a a sat night special rock n metal show a dj does on sat nights. The song never went into the daily rotation. They probably never played it again. So sleep token isn't looking for a pot of gold..even though they deserve it
I just hope one day everyone can enjoy music for what it is, and what it does for the soul ( if one allows) I honestly wouldn't expect to hear any of sleep token music on the radio due to the fact that without the labels.. How will people get to the music of they themselves don't search it out. I'm in Cleveland, and radio here is , um, crap...putting it politely. I found sleep token by accident after TPWBYT.. in my opinion, you can dislike it if you want, no problem. i personally love vessel’s voice and the album and the band. what i have a problem with (and not saying you guys do it, cause you already said you can appreciate it, his voice just isn’t for you) is when people say the band is downright bad just because they don’t like it. everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however you can’t objectively say that the band is bad just because you don’t like it. i personally don’t like country music, but i appreciate it as an art form. i’m not going to say country music is bad and nit pick at it just because i don’t like to listen to it. i just stay away from it. anyway, rant over. great job with your reaction though

Thanks for this! I get it with vessels voice, its a bit cursive style elements! people are really connecting a wide base to their music and most fan bases are sick of hate and dissing! Thats how i can see why people get mad! Bc some fan bases are very toxic towards critics "ruining" the hype (which is silly to be offended by if they explain their opinion without saying "it sucks"). For me i love vessels unique voice, if he sounds like everyone else, it doesnt make them any different to the bands before or after them! What they are doing that is so definitely is putting "feel" back into music! Sleep Token are the best band I have ever come across and the recent album is definitely my AOTY! You should go down the rabbit hole now. They’re genre bending and use elements of everything from rock, metal, RnB, trap, hip hop, gospel, and more. Even if you don’t like one song don’t write them off as every song is different and as you can see from this one they switch up completely through the songs, also don’t be thrown off by some of them being 7-8 minutes long either as it goes by far too quickly. You should start at the beginning and work your way through as they tell a story and have call backs to a lot of them. The band are anonymous, I and others know who they are but won’t reveal out of respect to the band and fans but the singer goes by the moniker Vessel, drummer, who is a beast is II, bassist III and guitarist IV. From London UK. As far as their discography goes they brought out two EPs called One and Two, then 2 singles called Jaws and The Way That You Were, then the three albums Sundowning, The Place Will Become Your Tomb, then TMBTE (Take Me Back To Eden). They’ve done five covers that I’m aware of. One being Hey Ya by OutKast, I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston, Is It Really You? By Loathe and When The Party’s Over by Billie Eilish, Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. His Vocal range I believe is B ♭2 to F#5 and he has a wonderful chest voice, head voice and scream. I have never hyper fixated on a band like I have with these! Loved the react and Will subscribe and hopefully see many more. 🖤 Your best bet really is pick an album and go through from start to finish as they all make sense better that way. The trilogy = Seduction. Destruction. Liberation.
