Hey. I, too, am the owner of the "hippo" - so affectionately call it. The family is very happy with the car, especially the children. I have a 1.8 liter K series engine. Good luck on the road.
@@landychap I actually bought a 2006 TD4 Freelander 1 at the end of June this year, technically my first car of my own and I love it! Got a 5dr with tow bar on the back and roof bars up top which I've fitted with a bike rack - basically I can move a bunch of shit now! I used to share a hatchback with my brother/family so I'm an experienced driver and I didn't learn in it, but I find the Freelander easy enough to drive and really nice over distance. Nothing too intimidating! I'd recommend. One thing though this goes for any car but if you leave it parked up on the street overnight maybe unscrew the antennae based on what you think of your area - currently in the process of re-fitting mine after some weapon robbed it and snapped the mount clean off! Grr.
Good to see you enjoying the freelander 👌 If you ever come to the Lake District drop me a note, I'd be happy to show you round the greenlanes with our group😁
What lift kit did you use, and were there any issues installing it. I'm wanting to get one on my Freelander but have heard there can be issues with them?
Hey! It's a regular L Series exhaust except the rear silencer is replaced with a TD5 pipe. The cat is still on there but I have bashed out the inside of it.
I had a freebie for my first 4x4, great little cars and very capable.
They’re great! Very underrated.

Haha awesome!
Thanks for sharing your suggestion and ideas!
Thank you for watching!
Reminds me of my 05 Ford Escape Hybrid
Awesome!
Strange question , would a freelander TD4 be decent for a first car ? Love the look of this
For sure! They're great.

Thank you!
Where did you buy the lift kit?
Was from Mansfield 4x4 Ltd, now Muddy mods are the only ones that make them!
High A., do you have thought about a roof-tent ? Kindly Fiete
Would love a RTT. I've seen some on the Freelander's before but seem a bit top heavy for my liking!
High Alex Baber, there are light-weight versions with under 50 Kg. Kindly Fiete
Is there enough room for sleeping Ok? I am 6ft 1in - would that be a problem do u think?
Hey! You may struggle (if you haven’t found this out already!)

Mansfield 4x4 Ltd. No issues really for me!
Is the engine the 1.8L k series?
considering its straight piped sounds like a tractor and (black) smokey i would say its a l series, cant beat a good old landrover
@@callumboon1154 Can confirm it was the L series!
Nice project! 🍺
Thanks!
I see you have a disco now, do you ever miss your FL1? If so what do you miss about it?
Just got my first one!
Congrats! How is it going?
Has the exhaust got a cat? Or is it literally just a td5 exhaust?

hello! will you tell me tires size??
225/70/R16 I believe.
@@landychap How to size r15?
"you already enjoyed" lol
What tyre size is on your freelander?
I can’t remember, sorry. 225 I think!
I actually own that car now, doesn't quite look the same now
Where can we see pictures and updates of the car now?
