Travel day to New Jersey motor speedway second trip .....was thinking of you Karl when I had to go in and out after already closing up ...I just chuckled RV life...
Oh wow, you are in my part of the world. I wish I knew in advance, I would have stalked you at Dick's Sporting Goods in Danvers. The North Shore welcomes you. It's so fun to see a travel video of towns, and roads and buildings I know by heart. Come back soon!
FIRST!!! Love the longer and more personable video this week. Short story, I was in Salem on business. I asked a local for directions to where the Witch trials were. I quote the answer I got. “Go down this road until you come to where the old town square used to be. It’s not there but turn right and you’ll find it.” 3 year full timer, 4 year following you and I never fail to learn from you. Loves ya.
Wow thank you so much, Russell! Your continued support means everything to us. That sounds about right for the directions part 😅 Much love from the Hanks family!
I love it when Nae Nae talks to us! Dude, you have to get slide covers, I can’t imagine having to climb up on the roof every week or two when we go dump our tanks, and have to clean off the top of the slides. Think of it this way, they may be expensive, but so is an emergency room visit. My wife found out last week though, if it’s been raining, and you do have slide out covers, close the windows before you bring the slide in. Just trust us on that. lol Love the channel.
We also installed a Pullrite auto slider after experiencing the dreaded "crunch!" between the truck cab and corner of the trailer. I absolutely love this hitch! No fear in making even a 90 degree bend. Only two complaints about this hitch: It's so heavy it's not very practical in removing the hitch if you need to use the entire bed of the truck for hauling anything, and you can't be more than 10 degrees off alignment between the truck and trailer to hitch, or de-hitch. That being said, I wouldn't tow my fifth-wheel without one.
Ok I have already watched this video as soon as it popped up Thursday but, I forgot to tell you all something. Who has 2 thumbs, pretty good at cooking and got a 20' 2 burner Blackstone griddle last week? THIS GUY!! I cooked breakfast on it a week ago Sunday and loved it. I hadn't even heard of them before I watched your video when Carl got one for Christmas?. I knew I had to get one. Thank you guys for all your videos and entertainment. Love you guys
Nay Nay with her air drum stick taping , I laughed immediately. “More cow bell!!” So impressed you guys know that SNL skit. Well, I’m old that’s why I know about it. One of my favs
Karl, if it's dropping acorns, it's an oak tree. Don't necessarily know what kind of oak but definitely an oak tree. Nee Nee - please don't feel Klye the cat treats, he'll start peeing in the cat box and rubbing you with his head. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
Love this guys. Native Bostonian here who moved to Maine 20 years ago. Driving with a truck and a 5er will age you up here for sure. We have a RV Garmin, Waze and Google maps going when we travel around here. It can be so stressful for sure. We are in our second year with our 5th wheel and figure we started with the difficult area first. Looking forward to heading out west so we don't have to worry so much! Enjoy your time up here, it's truly so beautiful!
Hi, guys! It's always a fun time travelling with you two. The places, your thoughts and most of all, your energy. I would like to share that we've found that a battery powered leaf blower makes real quick work of removing debris from our slideout. It also makes clearing the entire roof a breeze. Sorry for the pun! It also makes easy work of site cleanup of leaves, pine cones, etc.
Hey there! Thanks for the awesome tip! A battery-powered leaf blower sounds like a game-changer for keeping everything clean. Appreciate you watching and sharing your insights with us! 🚐 🍂
In my opinion after nearly 25 years of 5th wheel and another 20 years of a travel trailer, slide toppers are incredibly must have. With a little care, my ‘06 5th wheel toppers have just been replaced after 18 years! On the travel trailers, I never had to replace them. Also I believe they have saved a lot of potential damage to the slope, and keeping “stuff” out of the trailer when bringing in the slides. Besides I consider climbing up on the roof a risky endeavor at my age, and only do so when necessary to inspect things. Keep up with the more than informative and entertaining videos…stay safe
Thanks for your information on the slide toppers. Do you have any suggestions for keeping them in good shape? Any experience with using them through the winter?
@@karen2hagen448 I care for the toppers much like the awning. Cleaning and letting them dry after rain, etc. can’t say too much about winter as we live in Northeast MN, so using the trailer during the most harsh winter months is usually heading south. However, we’ve been camping plenty of times below freezing (32*) and some occasional light snow without any issues. Hope this helps
We just purchased a 2024 Salem Hemisphere 5th wheel with no slide toppers but this winter we are having them installed...loved them on our bumper pull...at our age it's only logical to have slide toppers!! :) I absolutely love watching y'all!!!
Love hearing this, Kathy!! Congratulations on your recent purchase 😊 We are so happy for you! Thank you for all your support in watching. You mean a lot to us ❤️
Danvers, Essex, Salem… this video was especially exciting because I grew up on the North Shore and I recognize all these different spots! Glad you’ve enjoyed Massachusetts so much and can’t wait for the rest of your New England adventures.
That's so cool, David! It must be awesome to see familiar places in the videos. We’re loving New England so far and can’t wait to share more adventures! Thanks for your support in watching our videos! 😊
Yes Carl, get slide covers, you will LOVE them and wish you had gotten them sooner. This is our 8th RV and that is one of the MUST haves. Hope to meet y'all out on the road someday!
We use a Demco Hi-Jacker auto slide hitch. Works great. Bought when we had a short bed truck but works great in our long bed also. We have a 42’ fifth wheel. Also we use an Emeril’s Air Fryer for the majority of our cooking. It uses electricity so we save our propane and is the right size for the two of us. It’s more of a counter top oven that also air fries.
Pickering Wharf used to be a plot of land that was owned by Pickering Oil Company and was a storage area for home heating oil. The actual Pickering Wharf village was constructed in the mid 70s
Love you NeNe, we do love hearing you talk. Karl, we appreciate you too. We love having slide topper especially at our older age. We camp in areas that usually have lots of trees which means twigs, leaves and pine needles. My husband only goes up to check sealed, wash off solar panels. ❤️
I have a Pullrite Superglide auto slider for my short box Silverado and I love it. Automagically slides 14 inches to the rear as you turn the truck up to 90 degrees to the trailer. Makes it super nice to maneuver into tight spaces without any worries.
I think the self leveling lap sealant is always a little "mushy", those acorns looked SHARP too! love the timelapse from the top of the rv also, super cool view
Wow, it’s so cool. You guys are on I 90 way over there. I 90 ends in Seattle Washington. That’s where I’m from my husband and I did ride our Harleys over to Maine from Seattle. We didn’t go on I 90 we stayed off of freeways and country roads, but it’s just amazing to know how far I 90 stretches, my husband passed last year. We had only six more states to get our bikes in. We would’ve done all 48 of them down here so I live in an RV now I have rented out over by Seattle and I need to get my class CRV into those last six states that are on the East Coast, that would be both Virginia’s both Carolinas, Rhode Island and New Jersey so happy trails. Hope to see you on the road someday.
Tourist traps are fun to explore occasionally, just be aware of overspending. We love the old ones that are still around. We enjoy stopping by Pedro's South of the Border when we're in the area. 😂😂
Hi guys glad to see your in New England 😁 where I live is actually the very first exit on 95 into Massachusetts. It’s Attleboro. We have a class a motorhome and I have to say we’ve never had really problems with low clearances probably because we’re from here and were used to it lol but we have a couple bridges here in town that consistently trash trucks get stuck under you would think they would know by now because it clearly says the height. We use RV LIFE GPS and it’s been great and has never stirred us wrong. Most of the major highways have plenty of clearance. It’s the parkways that have the low clearances like the Merritt Parkway through Connecticut. I hope you guys continue to have fun and thank you for the content. My husband and I love watching you guys.
Hey there! So glad to hear from you! We’ve definitely learned to keep an eye out for those tricky low clearances-especially on the parkways. Sounds like you guys have it all figured out with the RV LIFE GPS, that’s awesome! Thanks so much for watching and sharing your support. We couldn’t do this without you two! 😊🚐
We chucked the crappy flat top griddle that came with our camper's outdoor kitchen when we were in Pigeon Forge back in June 😂 we swapped out for a Blackstone. Best decision ever!
Salem MA has always been on my bucket list! I'd like to know more of what u did see and enjoy 😊. Love you guys!! Been following for awhile now and you have such great content to learn from!!
Headlamp with a red light. Best decision you could make when camping. When it’s dark you want to maintain your night sight and red lamps help with that.
Just a pleasant video. Gotta love Harvest Host. We often use them during the transition from more major destinations. Great for those times when you have back to back travel days. Continued safe travels....
Squishy is good! When it’s not squishy, it’s time to replace again. Love your content. We hope to get up to Maine some day and slowly come back south so it’s great to learn the reality of that part of the country for big rigs.
😂 I loved the video! I think Hitches and Witches we’ll keep you in stitches would have been a great title!! I know it’s an old timers phrase but it rhythms and is so true you guys always make me laugh. 😂😂. It was great seeing Salem again. Throughout the video I kept saying I remember that. Enjoy yourselves and remember to cherish the memories ❤. Hope you have a wonderful time in Maine. When we went we stayed in Boothbay Harbor. Beautiful area. Love you guys and God Bless!
“Hitches and Witches” would’ve been a great title! 😂 We’re so glad you enjoyed the video and Salem brought back memories for you. Boothbay Harbor sounds amazing-thanks for the tip! We appreciate you watching and your kind words, Brenda ❤️
We have a Black Oak in our back yard and it is huge. We call it "bombing season" when the acorns start because they start raining down well from late July into October. It's a beautiful tree and the squirrels and chipmunks love it. You get used to it after awhile! Love the show!! Keep rollin' on
We have a 30 amp Travel Trailer and I also suggest the dog bone. There's been a couple of times where the 30 a receptacle did not work properly and I was able to hook up to the 50, because we had the dog bone!
I looked it up.Its a real big friggin tree,,Welcome to Massachusetts,,I'm new but like what Im watching so I'm on board.Have a great time,,Good Day to both of You Luke Kelly Danvers Ma☘
I loved this video. I like seeing what the two of you do when hanging out. Cooking fish, playing with that adorable kitty. Daily life on the road. Even if it is just hanging around doing nothing. The real life of full time. I am going a little crazy with our home in the shop. We had a 3 month appointment for parts to be ordered and some body work. We decided to travel to Maine while waiting on the parts. After 3 months, we thought we would be in a house for 3 weeks max. It's been 4 weeks and they said the awning in not in. 4 months they had, out of sight, out of mind. Now it could be another 3 weeks. I am going crazy. Don't Ever use The RV shop in Delaware. New Castle.
While in Maine be sure to go to Acadia national park and go to the top of Cadillac Mtn. In the summer months, the sun rays hit the top there before they hit anywhere else in the country. This is in Bar Harbor Maine. Lots to do there but is a tourist trap.
We have a PullRite Super glide. Love it, and it isn't high maintenance. Acorns can dent the roof of your vehicle and can bop you in the head as well; I used to have tall acorn trees at my house in my former life, they are a menace!
1. Love hearing Nay Nay's commentary. You both have such fun energy, so this has been fun to get both perspectives during the same segment. 2. YES! Get the slide topper. We have one on our travel trailer, and never worry about things getting on top of the slide or leaks. It wasn't terribly expensive (less than $150 on Amazon), and we installed it ourselves. 10/10 recommend.
I have the Curt Turning Point king pin. You screw on a metal wedge in front of the pin and it keeps the king pin from rotating at the hitch. It pivots where it connects to the trailer. So it is like you moved the hitch 24” back in the bed, yet it still is above the axle. I have had it almost jack-knifed and I still have clearance between the trailer and the truck. I believe Hwy 1 that goes from Key West to Maine, there are no low bridges and tolls. That used to be the old semi-truck route before the Interstate’s.
It is an oak tree. I love it when our acorns drop. I think there are sub-species of oak. Our acorns are about 5 times the size of the ones that dropped on your RV.😅
Nice long 30+ minute video. Wonderfully satisfying and full of happy, smiling Hanks moments. LOVED the Dexter footage, especially of Kyle playing with him. Our Max likes to play rough with his dad, but from me he prefers lovin'. Watching and responding late tonight in Kennebunkport, ME, where we sort of just missed you. We've come to this particular campground for four years for our "birth-a-versary" (his birthday and our anniversary). And yes! It is so super cool to do a Harvest Host site or boondock and can cook, etc. outside what's "normal". Love hearing from both of you, because you're both adorable; Dexter too. Thank you so much, and see you soon.
We are in Massachusetts now too. Huge, beautiful sites here at Mount Greylock Campsite Park and stunning views from the top of the mountain. Come join us!!!🎉
What a surprise you stoped in my uncles Ernies old gas station. I have great memories of that place. I grew up in the town of Gloucester which is nearby
Slide toppers are worth the worry they save - Rainy or not you can pull in your slide and it is dry. No worry about water leaking in the slide when it rains.
Hey this was a great video loved the old town charm. And Carl if you are ever in a Harbor Freight pick you up a Hercules blower, this will make cleaning off the roof a whole lot faster. They are under a hundred dollars. Love seeing Dex and he is such a good boy. Y’all stay safe and happy travels.
Yes slide toppers are so worth it... ours came with them so we dont know the struggle of having to get up there and sweep them off but Kyle you look like a natural at it. Great job!. would like to see ya'll get them. Love you guys!
Hey guys another great video again... we just did our first ever trip of 4200 mile with our 19 year young cat , (Rigs) and we left the back seat down and he just loved looking outside. Of course when it was drive days he would voice his opinion on those bumpy rds. But thanks again for the great pointers with dexy

Oh nicely done!! 🙂 Thank you so much for watching!
@@HappilyEverHankswe were in Pigeon Forge at the same time. Unfortunately your rally tickets were sold out
Salem MA has always been on my bucket list! I'd like to know more of what u did see and enjoy 😊. Love you guys!! Been following for awhile now and you have such great content to learn from!!
Hi there! Hopefully you can make it to Salem one day soon ❤️ Thank you for all your love and support. You mean so much to us!
We have a slider hitch and we love it!!! Don’t use it a lot but when you need it…YOU NEED IT!!!
Absolutely! It's one of those things you really appreciate when you need it. Thanks for watching!
You guys are the best. And you’re making me want to plan another Maine trip soon.
We love to hear this! 😊 We hope you can make that Maine trip happen again soon! Thank you for your amazing support in watching
You
You two never disappoint us with great information and entertainment. Love this adventure you are on.
Thank you very much, Marilyn ❤️ You are so wonderful!
Headlamp with a red light. Best decision you could make when camping. When it’s dark you want to maintain your night sight and red lamps help with that.
That and I find when someone's bright white headlamp is beaming around the campground into my eyes is annoying.
Pullrite superglide!!!! Can't go wrong. It engages itself when necessary and acts as a regular hitch when it needs to!!!! Best. Decision. Eva.
Slider hitch is has definitely come in handy when in a tough parking area/site. Definitely recommend!
Just a pleasant video. Gotta love Harvest Host. We often use them during the transition from more major destinations. Great for those times when you have back to back travel days. Continued safe travels....
Enjoyed the show, Renee and Kyle. Nicely done.
Blackstone does make a two burner grill for camping, just got one, love it!! I have the four burner as well for the house.
Omg😂😂😂 welcome to taxachusetts ❤❤❤.. enjoy your stay
Squishy is good! When it’s not squishy, it’s time to replace again. Love your content. We hope to get up to Maine some day and slowly come back south so it’s great to learn the reality of that part of the country for big rigs.
Great to know! Thank you for teaching me this 🙂 It's nice to know you got my back here! We appreciate all your love and support in watching
You guys are brave. I didn't even like driving a car in MA! We love Harvest Host.
Forgot to add I loved the hose “mic” interview!!
“Hitches and Witches” would’ve been a great title! 😂 We’re so glad you enjoyed the video and Salem brought back memories for you. Boothbay Harbor sounds amazing-thanks for the tip! We appreciate you watching and your kind words, Brenda ❤️
Supergood episode, "Thanks Hanks"!!
We are so happy to hear this 😊 Thank you for your great support!
Definitely a one in a million campsite.
The 22” Blackstone is the ticket Kyle!! We love ours and it fits perfectly in our front compartment! Peace and love NeyNey, Kyle and Dexter!!
Oops…..Nay Nay 😂😂😂 sorry
Same on the 22 Blackstone. Fits perfectly.
We have a Black Oak in our back yard and it is huge. We call it "bombing season" when the acorns start because they start raining down well from late July into October. It's a beautiful tree and the squirrels and chipmunks love it. You get used to it after awhile! Love the show!! Keep rollin' on
That sounds SOOO accurate 😅 Thank you for your amazing support in watching our videos. We couldn't do it without you guys!
I like the cat and welcome to Massachusetts! In Massachusetts try a haddock and scallops and Sam Adams IPA 🍺 plus fresh breads!😊
Its so great to hear from Nay Nay!!! You’re ok too Kyle. 😅
Hahaha! Love this! :)
Hello to the vintage Shasta at 12:45! I have a '64 and love no-frills RVing. Those babies are built solid!
We have a 30 amp Travel Trailer and I also suggest the dog bone. There's been a couple of times where the 30 a receptacle did not work properly and I was able to hook up to the 50, because we had the dog bone!
Do love the back and forth video changes so you get two sides of one event, which we all deal with so adds perspective.
I looked it up.Its a real big friggin tree,,Welcome to Massachusetts,,I'm new but like what Im watching so I'm on board.Have a great time,,Good Day to both of You

Thanks Tim! We’ll definitely try to catch that sunrise. Appreciate you watching! 😊
We have an automatic slide hitch and love it. Only issue has you have to be straight to hitch and unhitch.
Great stuff guys . I grew up not far away in Stoneham Ma . Now live in New Hampshire. Can't wait to see you guys up there ! ❤
Thanks so much! We’re excited to be heading up to New Hampshire. Hope to see you around! Thanks for watching!
We have a PullRite Super glide. Love it, and it isn't high maintenance. Acorns can dent the roof of your vehicle and can bop you in the head as well; I used to have tall acorn trees at my house in my former life, they are a menace!
This is great to know! We have heard some good things about that hitch. Yes, those acorns can hurt for sure 😅 Thank you for your continued support!
You guys are awesome. Again thank u for staying with us at circle cg
We so appreciate you having us, Tom! You help make these videos come to life 😊 Thanks for your continued support in watching
Hey we love when NEY NEY talks to us while you’re on the roof!
Wow that is amazing, Thomas! What a small world 🙂 Thank you for your support in watching. It means so much!
We love you! Have to say when Carl went down the escalators reminded me of my hubby!😂😂
Hahaha!! Must be a Hanks thing 😁
😂😂
Pullrite auto slide does the thinking for you. I would whole heartedly recommend it. Saved my bacon a few times now.
Slide toppers are the best. They have saved several branches from falling on the slide roofs.
