Alex yesterday: "I have too much stock, time to take a break from the hunt and sell some goods." The next day, "Let's look through all this stuff I got!". Lol. Love you guys!
IKR Even yesterdays video was mostly what he purchased that day. Just a brief clip of some things sent to the auction at the end. He seems to be way overstocked. Seldom see any open spaces in his shop.
@@missycat5783 On the one hand, he needs to keep on top of his supply, because for most of what he stocks he can't just order more when his shelves start to empty. Wow! I didn't even get a shot at that piano stool to go with my antique piano built in 1911. If you run across another antique piano stool like that one, I would LOVE to have a chance to buy one. We spoke to the manufacturer of our piano that my husband bought me for Christmas 5 or 6 years ago for $500 and they told us this particular style of piano was built for and most likely played in a saloon back in that time period and was worth over $25,000 U.S. in its current condition. Amazingly, it's still in perfect tune even though it was built in Boston, Massachusetts, then moved to California, then to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and currently resides in Crane, Missouri. The patina is good, only one broken ivory and two broken strings need to be replaced and, if we have it professionally refurbished by the manufacturer in Boston, our piano will be worth between $35,000 to $50,000. Not a bad return on a $500 investment! But, nobody knows what happened to the original piano stool that definitely would have been the same type as the one shown in your video today since this piano started out its journey in a saloon in California after being built in Boston. One can only imagine how many oxen or horses or both it would have taken to haul this very heavy piano that distance over rough terrain and mountains. It has 4 very small caster wheels under it that fortunately all freely turn but 3 very strong men still could't budge it across a wooden floor! It took 4 large men and myself to get it loaded into a pickup truck bed so we could bring it to our home in Missouri. At the top of my bucket list is to learn how to play it after we get it repaired and refurbished which will cost a mere $5,000 U.S., (approx) which is still a very good return on our original $500 investment! I also inherested a camera like the one you bought where you look down into the top of the camera through the viewfinder to take the picture. It still had a roll of film in it which I took to a professional film developing company (no longer in business today) to have it developed. Unfortunately, there was only one picture on the entire roll and it was double exposed because someone forgot to turn the little knob to advance the roll of film to the next frame. My grandmother was notorious for forgetting to replace the little flashbulbs for this camera too. Your show today brought back a flood of very precious memories. Thanks for the memories!!! 😊
That was an interesting story and well written. My grandparents had a player piano with piano stool exactly like the one in the video. Unfortunately the house burned down to the ground.
Watching Abigail and Jason brought back a memory from my Childhood. Back in the early fifties, there was a huge movement denouncing violence in comic books. Comic books were, like, the work of the devil and were leading the children into a life of crime and violence. It was even worse than the movement to ban video games today. Somebody thought of a great plan. They would pay the children something like 2 or 3 cents for every comic book they turned in. Then they would recycle the books and take them out of circulation. Fine! I went around the neighborhood and gathered a big box of comic books and turned them in...but. Before I turned them in, I read each and every one of them. Rather than preventing me from reading them, the plan gave me a chance to read about a hundred of them. After that, I was reading about fifteen or more comic books a month, right up till I graduated High School. There was a store about a block from my school where the owner would buy comics from the kids for two cents and sell them to other kids for a nickel. Over the years, I'd guess I spent about a hundred dollars at that store, and sold about$150. In my case that buyback program was a complete failure.

On the Elvis LP, the black vinyl version is actually more valuable. It came out about three months before his death in black vinyl. After he died they switched to blue vinyl and sold millions, so most of them are blue vinyl. However, a sealed copy is much rarer, especially with a sticker like that. The Partridge Family one is also a bit higher in value because that postcard on the front is almost always removed on open copies.

One reason for Go-Go and Animal's girls to look like the Archie comics was that the early ones were drawn by Dan DeCarlo who did the Archie art. In fact, Go-Go was an in-house spinoff by the same people who published Archie.
Alec left the candles at 3:35 unremarked, but any good Ukrainian boy should have recognized them. The 3-bar cross is characteristic. In Slavic churches, both Orthodox and Byzantine-rite Catholic (Ukrainians might be either) Lent is kept as a season of serious fasting and reflection. You don't choose what to "give up for Lent"; the church directs you to abstain from all luxurious foods like meat, butter, and cheese. But Easter is a great feast day. So for the Easter services, everyone packs a basket full of goodies like ham, sausage, butter, cheese, eggs, a traditional bread made with butter and eggs, and so on, and brings it to church with them. After the service, the priest blesses all the baskets so the people can break their Lenten fast and get the party started. As part of the blessing rite, everyone sets a candle up in their baskets and lights them. These candles are examples of the kind of decorated candle one might use for that. You also might use them to light up the table on the special "Holy Supper" you enjoy with your family on Christmas Eve. My grandparents always used candles like that for both occasions. They Pysanky eggs at 7:20 are not the kind of things you'd eat for Easter; those are usually dyed plain red. Pysanky eggs are usually just the shell. There are probably small holes bored in the ends and the eggs inside were drained out before decoration. So they're very delicate. You'd take them in your basket to get blessed, but mostly for decoration.
I have a piano/organ stool exactly like the one you just showed in the video. Good to know how much it is worth. Would never sell it as it belonged to my Grandma Lillie Ann Rider.
I occasionally read things incorrectly: when the "Detective Batman" comic is shown, for a split second I thought it said "Defective Batman"... That would be an interesting read! 🤣 Lots of really cool items, though. Beautiful piano bench and interesting history on the Ukrainian Easter eggs! Thanks for the video!

My father passed away last year. As a kid even through my adulthood My father would shave using the shaving mug. I always thought that was cool that he lathered his own shaving cream. When he passed away and we had to clean out his place the one thing I wanted was the shaving brush and mug and now I have it to pass it down to my sons.
Hi Alex, I just wanted to let you know that you can sell the not so great comics in bulk on eBay or locally on OfferUp. People will buy them for the ads inside & sell them. I use to do that myself, sell ads from old magazines & comics. That way you can make some money & not throw them out. You would be surprised at how much you can make selling that stuff. Some folks specialize in that & do pretty good.

That Mary statue is lovely
Love that detective comics.
Archie and Riche Rich were my two most favorite comic books back in the 60 s they were 12 cents then
On the Elvis LP, the black vinyl version is actually more valuable.
I work in the Nashville Metro area I live close to the Alabama border and a week before I had one go through my back yard then the next night it snowed , always sad story's from these events but always you hear the community gets together and help.
HA!
‘Mother Mary’ packed in a flaming-red dress!!!

Love the piano stool & the glasses!
A game of Lawn Darts took forever in my family. As the oldest, I wouldn't let anyone throw until EVERYONE was behind the thrower.
I have one of those letter openers. Fun!
One reason for Go-Go and Animal's girls to look like the Archie comics was that the early ones were drawn by Dan DeCarlo who did the Archie art. In fact, Go-Go was an in-house spinoff by the same people who published Archie.
Yes, 300K - and nice video!
And no jokes about sausages (etc)
congratulations on your 300 subscribers!!! WTG!!!!!!!
Thanks Alex!
Awe we had Jarts as kids in Indiana, USA.
I too, hate losing my car keys! lol
Interedting unboxing. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
I have a piano/organ stool exactly like the one you just showed in the video. Good to know how much it is worth. Would never sell it as it belonged to my Grandma Lillie Ann Rider.
Just spotted the turtle on your wrist .Nice
CONGRATULATIONS ALEX, ON 3000,000 SUBS!!! 🎊🎉🥂🍾 Joanne
There's not much that Alex doesn't know about these collectibles...pretty cool
I’m still learning as I go :)
razor strap was used at our house but not for sharping razors- used more for attitude adjustments-
I had that MAD comic that you were looking at back in the day .
Congratulations on hitting 300K ❤️
I occasionally read things incorrectly: when the "Detective Batman" comic is shown, for a split second I thought it said "Defective Batman"... That would be an interesting read! 🤣
Lots of really cool items, though. Beautiful piano bench and interesting history on the Ukrainian Easter eggs! Thanks for the video!
Really cool stuff! Alex, it looks like you need to buy less, sell more or add on to your store...it's getting full!! Looking forward to a song when you have time! ;-)
The first camera also has a mirror under the metal flap on top. It's a twin lens reflex. // I think the pen may be a characterization of former French President Charles de Gaulle.// Fun haul!!
The lamp with the glass shade is one I had in pink. I had both night stand one and the one you put on the headboard. They got broken. I wish I still had them.
Loved jarts as a kid
My father passed away last year. As a kid even through my adulthood My father would shave using the shaving mug. I always thought that was cool that he lathered his own shaving cream. When he passed away and we had to clean out his place the one thing I wanted was the shaving brush and mug and now I have it to pass it down to my sons.
Now I have to check the feet on my Mom's piano stool that goes with her upright piano. :D
I had that same Jarts lawn darts back in the 60 s I think I was 10 or 11
Beautiful eggs.
Sweet score on the Batgirl. $200 - $300.
I like the wood safe
Awesome again 🎸🎸🎸🎸
I had that dart game as a kid.
Your parents threw caution to the wind
Hi Alex, I just wanted to let you know that you can sell the not so great comics in bulk on eBay or locally on OfferUp. People will buy them for the ads inside & sell them. I use to do that myself, sell ads from old magazines & comics. That way you can make some money & not throw them out. You would be surprised at how much you can make selling that stuff. Some folks specialize in that & do pretty good.
