It's got me gas lighting myself tbh. Like debating if I should believe if this is really an interview with the creators lol (it is btw). I've been looking for interviews with the creators and here's a vid with 2.7k views on a channel with 134k subs. The algorithm must've really hated this video for some reason...
The reason they don't get any attention from movie people is because arcane has no connection to hollywood, or the people involved in the business. That means you just gotta know someone, who knows someone... you know?
They wanted all the characters to be a valid pick for someones favourite or considered the best - they totally achieved it. You can see with all the video essays and reactors etc every character has its own fandom. End of this year I can't wait!
The best part about Arcane is how they creators never tried to force a moral political message on which character is right or wrong... they made them all morally nuanced and fleshed out on why they believe themselves to be right and justified in their actions: "It was definitely, I think, a goal for us to show the two sides of everything... so much of the exploration of character was finding the good in the bad, the bad in the good... [and] really feel like you're testing whatever your core values are, your core beliefs... it would never be a thing where "oh clearly this is the good one, or clearly this person's right." It's really the best outcome... and people are like "Jayce sucks!" and someone else will go on and just be like "Wait a minute, here's what he actually did, is that really so bad?" It's all arguable, they're all making decisions that are hard, and I think the best storytelling is when stuff's hard"
Interesting interview with so little exposure. Glad I found this! I would have liked to know how people from the film industry now talk to these two after the success of the show.
Crazy that I could never find good interviews with them after the show came out, and here's this one chillin months later without fanfare

Arcane is a breakthrough series! I hope that it changes the landscape of high concept adult animation.
Very good interview! I dont get how this has only 2k views...
It's amazing how uncertain they come across about the project. These guys knocked it out of the park with this show.
Great interview, very insightful and interesting!
Very interesting interview, thank you so much :3

Hi I'd love to know more ...
Why tf is SVB interviewing people?
Basically they went to Hollywood, all the normal dumb stuff got said, and they ignored it all because Riot trusted them. Thanks Riot. Well done.
I didn't know SVB interviewed people not a part of overwatch
same, I just clicked on this because arcane is amazing, but then SVB popped up and I was like "holup...that the Overwatch dude"
