Lorre really had the best and most awesome of voices. He was one of a kind , the best kind. He still gives me chills!!!
I really don't understand why anyone would give these a thumbs down. I always enjoy these radio programs.
Peter Lorre could really sound insane😳. What an actor.
The radio shows are a 10 plus, anything made for the movies today can't touch the imagination your mind can produce. TV is a poor substitute for the priceless gold in these radio programs 😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸

Touché sir, Touché
Agreed and I like telly
So true

Peter Lorre enhanced every film he was in, Casablanca, The Mask Of Dimitrios, he also was a fine comedian.
Wasn't he also in the Twilight Zone?
Edmond Dantes "M" yikes!
@@Chezbo I don't recall Peter in any episode of the twilight zone. He's been on alfred Hitchcock with Steve McQueen, also in a very funny episode of the jack benny show.

Having to stay indoors for almost 2 months now & there is absolutely nothing better than listening to these radio shows from the past , Peter Lorre being the best IMO...
Your a good man Caleb.....
@@JamesJackson-xd7jq You are correct. But then so are you my fine fellow 💯😃👍
Wow! These are amazing! It is funny, as a child, radio shows were already a thing of the past. Still, each week i looked forward to that ritual of waiting for the replays to come on. We would be gathered in the lower level of the house, where my father kept his ham radio equipment. There was a dimmer switch in that room, and the lights would be low. My father would be sipping on scotch with ice. Classical music would be playing softly as we waited for the radio show's time slot. O yes... and one other detail. Back then we had a light organ that my father constructed from an old Popular Mechanics article, or maybe a Heathkit. My Father is an electrical engineer, he could build it from scratch if he wanted to -but it is beside the point of my narrative. The thing was the size of a large speaker cabinet from those days, like around 14x32 in inches. It was soothing to watch it. Such good memories. :P
Budda, what a wonderful recollection of your childhood. Families nowdays don't even gather together for a meal. Each one has their own t.v.. sad and I know it does not apply to all. Anyone remember the quarter.midget races? . Or demolition derby??
I enjoyed reading this
@@oeterg1181 Lol, yes i did enjoy the demolition derby a time or two as a young adult. It wasn't part of my child hood culture but that's what cousins are for -they break you out of your milling routine. I loved the stock car races the few times that i attended them. We could go in with our own cooler full of beer, and if any body asked, we just said it was pop for the kids (which we neatly presented on top of the beer). But honestly, regulations be damned, every one just wanted to have a good time. No one cared about you bringing booze into the show.

Hi, only just found your channel and it is great. I have only just begun to listen to the Peter Lorre collection, he was a very underrated actor who seemed to have such a presence, a rare commodity, especially in these strange times. I look forward to some wonderful listens, my late wife and I loved these radio dramas, so listening to them will remind me of her and sharing something together. Thank you for putting them here.
All your radio plays unpload are superb! My sincere thanks for sharing these classic, quality productions! The brilliant Peter Lorre and wonderful character actors and actresses of that time, ...just glorious!😊
'get yourself a war job', the ad to entice women to take part in war effort. Extra classic the whole thing.
One of the very best actor's of a time when acting was very real on stage an film.
The ads are unique and very funny - Thanks!
He also did the Christmas one, which is one of my favorite old time episodes!!! I'm also Hungarian.
LOVE Peter Lorre!!!!!!
Thank you so much for this upload! It is exactly what I was looking for. The quality of audible acting with classic terror is fantastic.
Week 6 of Coronavirus 2020 and it's resorted to this this Friday nite 4/24/20😉😊😣😷It's ALL good though. I LOVE THESE STORIES AND Peter Lorre is DA MAN!! Peace and LOVE, wash yo hands, don't touch yo face, lol. Love one another
Love, peace and above all, empathy in 2021 🙏

Thank you very much. 🌹🙏🏽🖤
Thank you for this.
I loved Lorre in Arsenic and Old Lace. and “M” was incredible. i’d love nto see it again. 🌷🌱
"That glorious feeling that comes with regularity" and, "tomorrow, see if you don't feel glad to be be alive". A truer utterance hath not been spoken, and the knowledge bequeathed upon us shall serve our children, and our children's children.

One of the most underrated actors ever
Thanks
Thanks much
Awesome.
Wow this is incredible.
Wow! This is great!
Love these
They either don't make actors like this,or they don't have the writers, I think it might be both, these are wonderful!
Excellent!
Mr. Lorre was terrific
Wonderful! I always perfer an english accent in these OTR shows! So much nostalgia and context to the time at and around WW2!
Was he English?
@@kathleencampbell1138 i dont know? The accents were so thick back then that it sounds English
You're a fucking idiot.
Nobody does it like Lorre!!
The greatest tragedy of Hollywood's golden age is that this man never got to star in an adaptation of The Shadow Over Innsmouth.
If you ever wondered why writers like Steven King or film directors like Cameron and Lucas seem to all have more imagination and better plots and story's than the drivel they churn out these days? Its because they grew up listening stuff like this!
I'm listening to these again after almost a year. Peter Lorre was married three times, divorced twice before he died. Could have been three for three. I wonder what he was like when at home, not getting long with a wife and arguing. Was he as scary as he was in his radio shows?
Wow the story where he impersonates the preacher was outstanding! Never heard it and thought I'd heard em all
Am I the only one who isn’t here for nostalgia..?
I'm only 40..So a bit before my time..But I'm here for the corona lockdown!!! These are great!!!!!
No ,I'm only 30 and my dad introduced me to radio programs and it helps me go to sleep at night !! Love these radio shows
I always remember him from "M"!
great
She was insane!!! where can I meet her?
The catch in his voice when he's giving his thanks at the end of the series - wonder if that was acting or if he was really that touched... 5:31:10
Big fan of Peter
if Peter Lorre was any production, it was a masterpiece. if you’ve never seen “M”, you must see it (with subtitles).
(“the Lodger” which i saw as a film, wad completely different in outcome. I’ll have to look up the original. well, many of these stories have been rewritten to be more macabre, which works for Lorre.)
OMG - Carter’s Little Liver Pills”. LOL😋
i knew it was B.K. - i just knew it!
"Hello do you have Prince Albert in a can?.
"Why yes sir, we do
"Well let the poor guy out".
Or " out of 100 doctors who tried Camels 94 preferred woman". Have a good time listening to this wonderful show!!!
Yeah you got that right
Love lorres character in Maltese falcon
Greeeeeat
Peter Lorre's radio performances were superb. If only the movie studio bigwigs had given him more such splendid roles.
A real Asian could have played Mr Moto 👏 It wasn't Mr.Lorre's fault that Hollywood was in the throngs of RACISM !!! HE WAS SUCH A GREAT TALENT IN SO MANY WAYS 👍👌 REST IN PEACE THANK'S MR.PETER LORRE
Raaaaaaaaaacists evvvvvverywhere. 🙄
@@edmonddantes3640 mr lorre is a great talent, no question, a true original .
What a stupid thing to say.
The one and only Lorrel
The best “The Black Cat”!
Camel - Let your T-Cells decide
Poor guy in story three and four. Peter Lorre was such a great actor, even if when just his voice was used.
Forget about the pandemic...stay out of the GARDEN ! 😨
(Listen to the last story😉) 👍 👻
Peter Lorre is one of my favorites. I really like Mr Moto, but if you can stomach to see him as the bad guy involved in terrible crimes, check out out M by Fritz Lang.
Peter Lorre.
Was the best at acting weird...
2:26:30 GOOD LORD Isn't that HENRY MORGAN!?!?!? I think it is!!!
These shows are priceless. Peter Lorre is a gem among this group of actors. As an aside, Henry Morgan had to one the busiest actors in the business. From at least the 1940's until.the late 70"s or earliy 80's. I saw Peter Lorre in the German film "M" where he played a child killer. He nailed it! Damn those tobacco companies who peddled death in ruthless series of ads that hooked me and millions by selling smokes as a health aid, a sign of sophistication and all the while knowing the health issues. I digress. Stay healthy, folks during the year of the Plague and remember to vote. This is a tale you will tell your grandchildren about.🎃🎈
Well, his professional name for most of his career was Harry Morgan. His name WAS Henry Morgan, but he changed it early on to avoid confusion with a popular humorist whom I remember only as a panelist on _I've Got a Secret_. But I, too, was surprised to hear his voice, which I recognized immediately.
And he was on Voyager to the bottom of the sea

I like most of your stories for they are truly amazing. Though I have an objection to the sponsor of this edition. Cigarettes are unhealthy and good doctors never smoke.
Oh goodness, its part of history.

The music in this show is ridiculously and unnecessarily loud
I know it’s bothering me because this is a compilation, therefore I am being ‘treated’ to it happening over and over and Over And OVer AnD OVeR aNd OVER AGAIN .... WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHOhhhhhrrrrrgh!
(I just developed two bald spots atop my bean) ~ the theme music. KaZOIKS!! It makes me think of bad CGI that cost the movie makers a fortune, and instead of leaving it out, they use each and every bit of it.
I wonder if listeners back in the day pulled their hair out as well even though they heard it only once per week.
And strangely enough, it sounds like the opening to Oh Fortuna
Camel Cigarettes. Doctor Recommended! No wonder the life expectancy was so low back then.
Ironic that such creative and entertaining shows were sponsored by an industry which promoted a product that it knew was harmful to human consumption. I used to listen to these shows with my father who also smoked Camel cigarettes and developed bladder cancer which his oncologist attributed to cigarettes. The industry is so immoral that it promoted the habit by using doctors as permission to smoke!!! When money is the ultimate good man will make poor decisions
