Console at first seemed a bit clunky, overwhelming, and unnecessary. But I have been using it for some time and really wrapped my head around it. I've developed a workflow that works best for me and hope to help other musicians out there get the most out of it.
The main thing that's a bummer is having an extra window open that you have to constantly monitor and flip back and forth. I think of console as almost being like a mixing board that is sitting in front of me.
In this video I take you through all the most important features, buttons, and settings that you need to know about in order to get started making music. As well as some common pitfalls and tricks help reduce clutter. At the end of the day, it should help make your music sound better and easier to create.

Hey, I'm having problems because for some reason the my recordings are being recorded very low, everything I have is pretty much new, Apollo 6x, Newmann U87, even the cables, so I don't understand why is it recording that low, to the point that it shows an almost flat line in logic...

Hi Lucas, thank you for this overview. I have had my struggles with Console for the past year and a half and I think you have cleared up a lot for me, one question, at

Thanks for the video. I appreciate it. Very informative. I have a question. I can’t use this as a standalone where I get volume out of my MacBook speakers just by using this exclusively. Any suggestions? Thank you.

  • @cala555_beats4

hey i don’t have di i/o matrix, i can’t hear nothing from my speaker and idk what to do..

  • @dkkrecords

The routing side is always overlooked and is the most important and harder to understand component; particularly virtual inputs and outputs.

Hey Lucas, I have another question if you wouldn't mind. I have the Apollo Twin X, and IN CONSOLE, I have Analog 1&2 designated for my L22 Mic, and I have Virtual 3/4 that I believe should be for my headphone volume. In the sends above Analog 1&2 and Virtual 3/4 I have faders for Aux 1&2, HP, and Line 3/4 I have been using Line 3/4 in both Analog and Virtual3/4, My question do I need to use both Line 3/4 in Analog 1&2 and Virtual 3/4? Thank you for your help and if you don't have time to respond I understand, I thank you for your time. Lee

Thank you Lucas! I am coming from the RME world. How do I change the volume of the Entire Cue Mix 1 from Console App and Mute the entire cue if required? Thank you :)

  • @_trvdon

Can i use the UAD Console without any Apollo product(using Focusrite interface)

  • @AdrianChristian

This must be why the UA interface monitor meters are clipping, because both the Console and DAW have a mic input feeding each other and with both monitors on (UA and ProTools) it creates clipping in the interface. Is it true I have to monitor only from one? If I do it from ProTools do I need to mute monitoring on the UA interface?
