@@The_Invisible_Self They may have been famous and one of our favorites back in the 70's, but they don't have the following today as other bands from the same error. Nor is their fan base growing. Hey, I like the Who and my statement is saying that in being underrated they are not as popular today as I feel they should be.
I remember buying this on 8 track tape when it first came out. I had a girlfriend in college at the time and I would visit her on weekends and drive my 1963 VW bug to visit her , playing this over annd over again on the way. I've always loved this whole album and every song on it. It brings back such good memories and I still love it.
YEARS AGO; I was doing on duty as a C. O. at Fishkill Correctional Facility, New York State, when one of my fellow Officers put this song on the yard's speaker system for everyone to hear. I thought it was cool, being a "Who Fan" and VERY APPROPRIATE! INMATE'S LOVED IT TOO.
Absolute Rock Royalty at their creative zenith , this timeless classic serves as a testament , over 50 years may have passed but the magic they created back in 71 lives on .
There are other videos on UA-cam of them playing this live. I saw them open air at Charlton, London in 1974. This song and their whole set was fantastic.
I saw them in Boston when Moon passed out over his drum kit. Show over after two numbers, but save your ticket stubs. The make-up show was outstanding!!
I saw the Who several weeks after their album " Who's Next" came out. It is one of the top shows I have ever seen. Each song was monumental! I bought the album so I knew all the songs- that really made it good.
What kind of group creates "Behind Blue Eyes" AND "Baba O'Reilly"... maybe my two favorite songs of all time - or, at least tonight. Happy I was there to hear it in real-time.

I think the Who was a very underrated or forgotten as one of the biggest influencial bands ever Roger Daltrey Keith Moon and Pete Townshend what legends and Iam a Floyd man
Very clever editing of Jeff Stein concert footage from the 1978 Kilburn concert, with the 1971 studio recording. Townshend, Entwistle & Moon are quite drunk. Entwistle didn't remember doing the gig. "I was pissed out of me brain," he said. When The Who did the Kilburn gig, they hadn't played together for a bit over a year. Kudos to Glyn Johns's' production on Who's Next (the first Who studio album where Moonie got a decent drum sound).
The who never made a big impact until i was working on third shift in a grocery store and we would put our radios thru out the store waiting for this to come on ,amazing
I went to see the Who at Manchester Belle Vue in the winter of 1975 (I think). I remember the huge excitement I felt. Afterwards I couldn't get back to Bradford Uni so tried to sleep on a park bench, but it was sooo cold. At about 4 am I found an all-night café. Each tea did last an hour, and I did wander home alone - but happy. Years later I taught Roger Daltrey's son Jamie - nice lad, good family - very kind. Mum - Heather (I think). I was particularly obsessed with Quadrophenia - when I was 18 my schoolfriends organised a surprise party and gave me the double album. I was always too shy to ask Roger to sign my album for me. Such a shame. These were HUGE experiences... . I also taught Orlando Bloom - also a very nice lad.. but that's another story.

Can show through
But my dreams, they aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance that's never free
When my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and lose my cool
When I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh and act like a fool
And if I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
And if I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat

Some have tried, and we had some decent music in the 90s, but it still didn't hold a candle to these timeless bands
@@marksanzone4948 I guess I'm very lucky I have a dad with exquisite taste in music lol. Even my daughter loves older music. I remember her being 5 and asking me to play Metallica. It blew my dad away lol. I think it was a proud moment for both of us. And yes, I know Metallica isn't as old, but they're good imo loo
Такие композиции будут жить вечно, как музыка Бетховена и др. классиков.
An evergreen. Very cool❤ Greetings from Italy 😊
Used to listen to this back in the day powerful song, beautiful
I believe Keith Moon was happiest sitting behind his drum kit banging away on his drums.
My favorite song of the Who! Love this excellent and emotional song: thanks
A very well constructed SONG in all its parts: captivating SOUND, VOICES of a significant sweetness, superb CHOIRS: it is simply a HYMN for WHO LOVERS; a true MASTERPIECE...!!! ❤✌☮
It just doesn't get any better than the Who.
Who's Next is a masterpiece 1971 was a very special year for music. Who's Next, Led Zeppelin IV, Jethro Tull Aqualung and on and on. I will forever be grateful I got to experience it all!
This song says everything that I am, what I'm going through. The pain and anger i feel.
You're not alone.
The Who original.revive by Limp Bizkit.
What’s you boys so angry about? Life is short. Gett over being angry and get to living. You’ll be real angry sitting on your death bed thinking I wasted my whole fucking life being pissed at the world!
Perfect song!
Greatest rock band ever!
2023 and this song never die ❤
Así es amigo estas canciones nunca mueren
Live at the LA Forum...1969 or so...I was there...this takes me back...we all held up our lighters at the start of the concert..joints and pipes in the other hand...it was all passed around freely one brother and sister in rock to another...a security guard passed out just breathing our air...they carried him out..small faces opened the concert...or at least I think they did...lol...I'm a old man now...67 years old all my close family are dead..Mom Pop and Brother...my ex is a psycho that enjoys ripping my heart out with her ...Gaslighting and...Emotional affairs....with other men...she has a " Hes just a friend " she likes to have sleep over with her for the weekends and whenever...she showed me on a skype call from 6 thousand miles away one time while he was handing her a glass of wine on a Friday night at her apartment alone right in the middle of our talk of getting back together...But you know what...I still like myself and try to take care of myself and I have memories like this concert and my Brothers and Sisters I feel that are out there young and old that love this old Rock and Roll...Be good to yourself
yolo brother
@@lenzdr8988 I know how you feel
I am pleased to read your comment. This is part of your life, your experiences and memories that you described... ... .
Saw them live at the Greek in ‘72.
This is brilliant 2024 I love this sooooo much one of the best songs!!!!!!! ☺️ 🇬🇧
I totally needed to hear this tonight, as indeed I am the sad man behind blue eyes. ..
would love to hear the actual audio to this video, as Keith Moon is on fire here !!
As a guitarist and vocalist - this is one of my favorite songs to play / sing.
One of the most underrated bands out there. Their talent was mind boggling
@@The_Invisible_Self They may have been famous and one of our favorites back in the 70's, but they don't have the following today as other bands from the same error. Nor is their fan base growing. Hey, I like the Who and my statement is saying that in being underrated they are not as popular today as I feel they should be.
Underrated only by the ignorant. The Who was a MONSTER band.
Underrated? WTF???
@@francehaardt8698 yes. As in they were not as globally recognized as other bands.
I wish you all could hear the bass track isolated. Brilliant playing, yes, but, the actual sound production is phenomenal.
Enjoy
I remember buying this on 8 track tape when it first came out. I had a girlfriend in college at the time and I would visit her on weekends and drive my 1963 VW bug to visit her , playing this over annd over again on the way. I've always loved this whole album and every song on it. It brings back such good memories and I still love it.
Truely The Who’s masterpiece❤️
YEARS AGO; I was doing on duty as a C. O. at Fishkill Correctional Facility, New York State, when one of my fellow Officers put this song on the yard's speaker system for everyone to hear. I thought it was cool, being a "Who Fan" and VERY APPROPRIATE!
INMATE'S LOVED IT TOO.
I was born in 71, and this is my all time favorite song,.. best wishes all,..
Absolute Rock Royalty at their creative zenith , this timeless classic serves as a testament , over 50 years may have passed but the magic they created back in 71 lives on .
Спасибо ОГРОМНОЕ за публикацию...
ЗВУК просто Потрясающий!!!!👏👏👏
Totally forgot about this song. It is wonderful to hear them all singing together.
Phenomenal song by an amazing rock group. I love The Who: particularly Roger Daltrey & John Entwistle = 2 of my all time favorites.
Of course, you all know that this is the studio version of the song just synced up to the video. It’ll be nice to actually hear them playing the live.
I suspect that is a surprise to many people. Mixing and audio production is effectively invisible to a lot of listeners and viewers.
Yes, would love to hear the actual audio track from this performance.
There are other videos on UA-cam of them playing this live. I saw them open air at Charlton, London in 1974. This song and their whole set was fantastic.

This is live performance 🙏
The Who was always my favorite in the 70's, these videos make me realize why! Incredible!
I saw The Who in concert shortly after Keith Moon died. One of the best live shows I've ever seen!
I saw them in Boston when Moon passed out over his drum kit. Show over after two numbers, but save your ticket stubs. The make-up show was outstanding!!
That's incredible. All this years I have thought it's limp bizkit's song.
But now I drink from the fresh water spring.
Le groupe le plus sympathique des 70 ! Ils m'ont toujours apporte de l'energie et de la joie !!!!!!!!
I always like it when they lay the studio track over live footage. Verrry convincing.
My parents had all the Albums. Wish i still had them.
Amazing the way he makes that Les Paul sound like an acoustic guitar
Can I get wink emoji for this studio recording pasted over live footage?
Jimmy Page the originator of taking acoustic and making it loud. Townsend couldn't hold a candle to him but a good lyricist.
Fantastic classic song...will never get old.
When are we going to have again Great Bands like these ones??? 😮😮 Never.
Saludos 😮
From Baba O'Riley to Won't Get Fooled Again, many great songs in this album. One of my 10 on a desert island.
For sure...cheers
Acredito que essa é a banda que fez o verdadeiro rock and roll pois não perdeu tempo com romantismo sem graça. The Who para sempre!
Lyrics from another universe! The music is unsurpassed!
I saw the Who several weeks after their album " Who's Next" came out. It is one of the top shows I have ever seen. Each song was monumental! I bought the album so I knew all the songs- that really made it good.
This was in 1971 in Long Beach.
What kind of group creates "Behind Blue Eyes" AND "Baba O'Reilly"... maybe my two favorite songs of all time - or, at least tonight. Happy I was there to hear it in real-time.
The anarchic energy emanating from Keith! A powerhouse driving the group.
There a great bands, super bands, bands who's music is timeless.
The Who are all of the above and more simply outstanding number of incredible tracks ❤
Just found this, brought back so many happy memories, best music era ever, so many greats. Truly great artists. Mad Moon ❤️
I think the Who was a very underrated or forgotten as one of the biggest influencial bands ever Roger Daltrey Keith Moon and Pete Townshend what legends and Iam a Floyd man
don't forget the Ox on bass. the great John Entwistle, one of the best bass guitarists ever.
Happy new year,,..
Pretty good lineup of the original music to the live video performance!
I noticed that too. It sounded too much like the album
The who never made a big impact until i was working on third shift in a grocery store and we would put our radios thru out the store waiting for this to come on ,amazing
Great emototional song
A masterpiece ....Not a simple song....
One of the best ever IMO..What a band!!☘
Love practicing the drums to this song. Eventually was able to play Keith's role in the song. Those were the greatest days!!!
The Who war eine großartige Band
Esta es mi banda favorita !! Amo todas sus canciones ! Los escucho desde los, 12 años! Y sigo hasta ahora cantando sus hermosas canciones !
One of Rocks greatest songs
Incredible drums by Keith Moon!
