Dang this feels like a lot to remember, my question is what the main specs to look out for when it comes to changing something on the combine

13:47 until grease is forced out of the seal? Um...correct me if I am wrong, but isn't there a good chance to add too much grease, forcing it behind the plungers and "hydraulically" locking up the clutch, preventing it from slipping at all?!

Don't forget the zerk behind the electric clutch!

If you grease 40 to 45 shots at te pipe plug at rotor sheave the grease pushes out , way too much, owners manual says 5-8 shots every 400 hours

Good video. Very helpful. I have a 9870 and it actually has 2 grease zerks at the Chopper jackshaft bearings, not an oil bath. Also the u-joints on the drive shaft coming from main engine gear case can be greased. Why the difference. Is it because it is a Canadian edition ?

The u-joints on the drive shaft are covered under the “Additional 70 Series Information” video which is specifically for the 9870. The “CIS” version which is not sold in the States does have the zerks on the chopper jackshaft as he stated.

      We hope this helps!

A 6620 has 10 hour grease fittings at the most frequent, why on earth on a more modern combine would they engineer something that needs to be greased twice a day, and then you have to change the variable speed several times to work the grease around? With all the electronics now, you may as well just tack a container of grease on the pulley in a balanced way and have a small battery and pump shoot grease in on a timed cycle and have that actuate a relay that automatically cycles the feeder house speed as you're combining...if you're paying 900k for a machine, might as well.

Why are you jumping around from filters to zerks to oil levels? This video is all over the place. Also, we don't need 15 seconds of looking at the zerk, walking up to the combine with the camera and ending up at the zerk would take just as much time and be much more useful.

Hey Jim, thanks for the feedback. This video was shot about 9 years ago so we have made a lot of improvements sent then. You can check out all of our newer videos on our channel
