This is definitely a cover of my fathers song. I appreciate the fact that this was made and his musician still lives on. He passed away April 6th 2020 and would have loved to hear this.

Amazing song & performances, but mad props to the audio engineer: two microphones in what looks to be a rickety wooden shed, and yet it sounds killer. With just two microphones, the position of each instrument/musician relative to the microphones had to be chosen carefully, which takes a sharp ear & a lot of talent. Everything sort of "melds" together to create a massive, magical sound that you can get totally lost in, just like a lot of old vintage recordings. But if you listen closely, each instrument is distinguishable & sits comfortably in its respective place in the mix. (Another good example of this: "Everyday" by Buddy Holly).
For anyone interested in learning more about vintage music recording (and recording in general), Sound on Sound Magazine has an excellent half-hour video on UA-cam called "Recording '50s Style" which delves heavily into the intricacies of vintage recording techniques.
Seriously, huge props to the audio engineer.

    Lyrics (feel free to amend/correct):
I've travelled ever over all by myself
The things that satisfy me, lord, are high on the shelf
My mother she has told me, son, don't be a fool
The world is full of men who love the modern rules
    Run wild when you're young
And do the things you wanna do
I woke up this morning feeling awfully bad
I must'a had a good time, I made my friends all mad
Run out of money in the middle of the night
I wrote a hot cheque, now the girl's inside
    Run wild when you're young
And do the things you wanna do
My baby's gonna leave me and I'm moaning the blues
I walked a hundred miles or more and wore out my shoes
I think I'm going crazy, what am I gonna do?
I think I'll join the legion and see the world through
    Run wild when you're young
And do the things you wanna do
I'm going to build a rocket ship and vee var var voom
I go and get my baby and fly to the moon
Leave all our worries on earth behind
When we get in space everything will be fine
    Run wild when you're young
And do the things you wanna do
    Run wild when you're young
And do the things you wanna do
    Run wild when you're young
And do the things you wanna do
