Yes kedarnath Hilltop pe on the spot hoga booking. We did almost all our booking on the spot. If you want secured prebooking then go for GMVN else on the spot is fine. We got a similar price offline when compared to online.

Hello, it’s an urgent concern, I am planning to take my family along with me to kedarnath, what you suggest for the stay near by the temple as GMVN stays are not available.

how's the food situation like? is it very expensive? and what are the food items available? do hotels provide hot water for bathing? what are the essential items that we should take with us (besides warm clothes)? do people get altitude sickness ?
Food is little expensive as you go up. Food items you will get mostly Maggie, Paratha, Dal chaval . No idea about hot water as stayed in Tents there and there was no question of having bath as it is too cold there. Essential items do take monsoon clothes and cash.

Hello. Har Saal checking ke related rules change hote hai. Kabhi kabhi woh log bahot strictly check karte hai toh kabhi karte hi nahi. Mostly check post hote hai wahape hoti hai checking. Aur ha apko same day booking milegi.

Hello. Tents me pani nahi ata hai agar tents acchese lagaya gaya ho. Aur tents me sleeping bags dete hai toh thand nahi lagti bilkul.

Yes. Max 3 people in a room. But it depends on rooms as well. Some rooms are big where they may allow 4/5.

If you reach after 3 o clock ..you might come down by late 9pm at Gauri kund...and by that time you will not get any Jeep for sonprayag...so here are the options for you..
1. Enjoy your night at top only and start coming down in the early morning (after 1st Aarti)..
2. If you are in hurry like me then try to start but early and reach to the top before 1 and immediately after the darshan start coming down ,and can hault at Gauri kund or sonprayag...

I would suggest you to stay rather than come back the same day. As it is hectic for a person with sedentary lifestyle. If you are fit you can try to return same day.

Tents ka price single person ko kitna padega brother
It was Rs. 750 per tent when we were there. Agar Single hoge toh mostly Rs. 500 hoga but apke tent me dusre log bhi ayenge.

You can check on GMVN website but it wont be tents there. Either Dorms or Rooms. Other private operators may provide tents but for that you cannot prebook.

Yes Many locker rooms are available at Gaurikund .. Cost generally starts from Rs 100 for one luggage and Rs 30 for helmet

Yes. There were cloak rooms at Sonprayag as well as Gaurikund. We had booked our Cloak room at Sonprayag for Rs.50 per Bag per night. Just suggesting you that do not keep any expensive things in it. Only keep extra non essential luggage.
Hello. There are many cloak rooms at Sonprayag as well as Gaurikund. It is difficult to tell the exact location of any of them as they are plenty. You will get to see them easily.

There are seperate washrooms but in the way mentioned ahead. There are Toilets in the form of Cabins there which are seperated in two categories (Men & Women).

It is shared space so technically a family can stay but you cannot gurantee that only your family will be there.

Hello. It depends on the situation. When we went in May 2022 it was way too crowded so they had closed the gates post 4 pm so we had to wait at Sonprayag only. So it totally depends on the situation at times they allow as well.

1. Jeeps service is from Sonprayag to Gaurikund. You can reach by Bus or Car or Taxi till Sonprayag & then a seperate Jeep service is there.
2. Climate in Mid may is good but it would be crowded as compared to June/July/August (as these months are rainy season months). But again be prepared for all 3 types of weather as it is unpredictable.
3. Gaurikund to Jangal chatti is 4kms so yes it is surely feasible.
