I got so emotional watching this. I don't know why. Maybe just in awe at the beauty that kept developing before my eyes and it overwhelmed me. Especially when the music kicked in. Your are amazing. Thank you.
I love it. I wondered where you were going but I love to watch how you consider and stand back and move forward. Your intuitiveness, the working of your heart, mind and putting down the strokes are so inspirational. Thanks
I’m just beginning to experiment in water colours and trying bit of everything . To see where I t takes me. I’m enjoying watching you and your technique .
Loving these watercolor abstract demos. There are so few watercolor abstract artists that I am aware of, but I have become quite interested in working in this area, and always looking for inspiration on methods and references. Thank you for this! 💖💖
I have not painted that much in abstracts but I love that kind of art too! I will definitely keep exploring that and use landscapes as the vehicle to explore abstraction. Good luck exploring this yourself too! Glad this is helpful! cheers Scott
Hi Karen! Thanks! Bit of an experiment! Always fun to explore what might come from some marks on the page and help me to produce something different! Thanks for watching! Hope your painting arrives soon! Cheers Scott
@@ScottSwinson I’m waiting for it everyday. Can’t wait to have it framed. Can’t decide if I want it in my bedroom or my studio. Would be great inspiration in my studio! Ill let you know as soon as it arrives.
No worries! It will be easier to make that decision when it arrives. Generally framed it will be about 25cm wider and taller. In other words yours would be about 80cm x 63cm framed. Hope it arrives safely! 👍👍
Oh my goodness. I love this picture. I watched it without any sound. I then looked at your summary and saw you didn't speak...I think your work and the process you go through is self- explanatory you need not to have sound. You are a wonderful artist. Thank YOU sooo much. Adams
Hi Adams! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Prior to starting youtube I always used to paint to music and I missed doing that while doing youtube so I did this video so I could just focus on painting. I will do this again sometime! Thanks for your lovely comments. Cheers Scott
I really appreciate your beautiful work! You are very confident in your strokes and you make it look easy! I'm striving for that! Also love your colors!
Hi Sue! You are always welcome! Not much talking but still good to see process and end result.....well maybe end result. Will have to see what I decide! Thanks for watching. Cheers Scott
Great to watch how your paintings evolve. I must make up some big bowls of colour like you. When I go abstract with the water spray I end up with wet, almost clean paper and all the colour in a puddle at the side 😄. Your vids are inspiring.
Hi B Smith! Yes I do love the big bowls! But of course painting large you go through a bit of pigment! Good luck with your painting and explorations! Cheers Scott
Hi Kyle! You are always welcome! Tassie! Which part?! That’s where I grew up in Cambridge and also lived in Deloraine for a while too! Because an artist Tony Smibert - was my mentor for many years - lived there! Thanks for watching! Remind you of bay of fires? 👍👍
@@ScottSwinson Hi Scott! North East...George Town - I moved here 3 days before the initial lockdown last year! Originally from Sydney, and wife from Poland. Reminds me of the Bay of Fires, but also reminds me of my spot where I go for my afternoon coffee by the Tamar, if I look across to Kelso the first set of mountains leading down to Greens beach and the second set of mountains, that painting reminded me of Sunset, never fails to cheer me up!
Your art is soo beautiful and even meditative! Where do you get large and thick watercolor paper? Or have you ever tried Schmincke Aqua Medium for canvas?
Hi Elli! Thanks! I find it so involving! I love to just paint and not talk and have some classical music in the background! Most of the time I use Rives BFK etching paper sheets that are 56cm x 76cm and 280gsm. I should pre-stretch them but I don't very often! I also get rolls of the same paper but 300gsm and can then paint paintings that are 200cm long and about 100cm high. I haven't tried the Schmincke Aqua Medium for canvas but I did do some experimentation a while ago and decided none of the mediums performed how I would like and so now paint on paper and then varnish it then wrap it around a canvas! That's what I do at the moment. Cheers Scott
@@ScottSwinson Thank you so much! It helped me a lot!! Do you stretch the ready artwork on canvas with a tacker? I'm just wondering because I fear the paper could crack!
Hi Ruth, the music is various artists from Artlis.io the songs I use most art Better Now by Philip Daniel Zach and To Edinburgh by Ian Post. Cheer Scott
What other paper can I use and how is yours clamped? On an easel? At the go over it looks like its on a canvas. Great stuff though. I'm thinking of doing one, only a little larger if possible
Hi Robert! You could use any 300gsm or thicker paper. When working large I often just attach at the top only. That way it can expand as it gets wetter. I only put it on the easel fir the video. I almost never paint on it as it’s not stable enough for me. 👍👍 good luck! 👍👍

Your music choice is awesome for this very open painting! I feel like I breathe deeper looking at it. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.

Gorgeous, Scott!! Love the colors, and softness. This brings me to a beautiful place. 😘💖🎨
Hi Liz! Yes they are lovely colours! Love a bit of cobalt turquoise light! 👍🙏👩🎨
I loved watching the paint flow, and the best bit was the “oops” 😂
Thanks Moon Spinners! Yes! Lucky I didn’t say “oops a daisies!” Lol 😂
@@ScottSwinson ..😂 it would have been even funnier. Great painting by the way, I forgot to say that before 🤗🇬🇧
Wow Scott that's so beautiful. I love the intensity of the colours. Just gorgeous.

Can you let us see the palette color names? I'm colorblind and have difficulty with this. Thanks for the excellent video!
Hi Scott. Your work is very inspiring to me. I am curious of how you frame your larger pieces. Traditional custom frame under glass?
Beautiful!
Thanks Marija!!🙏
Thank you very much for letting us into your world! I like the end result! Reminds me of where I live here in Tassie

Do you wax your paintings sand what would be the best way to frame? I don't like using glass any suggestions would help. Thanks..
Oops, I see now, an illusion, its taped, looking like canvas
Good move and good timing!! Sounds like a lovely place for a coffee! Looking forward to being able to visit tassie again soon! 👍👍

Thank you! I just love painting! 🙏
Can you resin a watercolor painting?
I think you could over the top? Not sure. You could spray a fixative or varnish over the top first then resin it? 👍👍
How you Corect the liks
Could you write it out?
Hi Ruth, I'm not sure what you mean? Write out the artists names? I'm just replied to your previous comment about the music. Cheers Scott
There’s a lot of indecisive movements and pushing things about going on. 😂
It’s not always clear when you are painting without a plan where to go with it. Have you found that when you paint like that?
