@@CapnShades There are some idiots out there who at the time were arguing that Taka takes all the spotlight in a scene which detracts from the rest of the show
whereas the reality is that the absolute spotlight role was given to Taka because he was the only one who had enough showmanship. Not even Lani and his wide range could compare to Taka's raw energy.

Just noticed that in the Kikoho scene, Tien has blacked-out character portraits under his own of 16 and Piccolo. The attention to detail.
and it costs him life to tack on more attacks, and the "DOWN" when he goes down.
It was even playing his DBFZ theme, in addition to costing 6 meter (activation + 3 follow ups) lol
Abridged: Cell hates Tien for spamming Kikoho and preventing him from absorbing 18.
Abridged Kai: Cell respects Tien for doing one last cool things without making a joke.

You know, the interesting thing is that Cell isn't really evil in this:
1. He wanted to raise a baby with Piccolo
2. 17 consented to being absorbed
3. 18 didn't *not* consent (I guess?)
4. He was actually friendly to Tien, showing respect and wishing him a Happy Hannukah
5. He tried to be friendly with Vegeta
6. He only slapped the Z Fighters, where he could have easily just killed them
7. He never said he would destroy the Earth if he won the tournament
8. He told Mr Satan to shut up
9. He never tried to kill anyone just for the thrills. He only tried to do it when he was called a dingus, and when Trunks "noooooo"ed his death
10. When he had his angry rant after killing Trunks, he never threatened to kill anyone, but simply demanded respect.
11. And perhaps most importantly, HE DIDN'T KILL ANDROID 16! :D

@@ZeldaboyOG I'm hoping the manga adaptation of the movie, and the eventual anime adaptation of that, give it enough build up to make it live up to it's potential.
The movie changed nothing. All it is is his attempt at reliving his best moments that already passed. It's honestly more sad than anything. The movie just retreads almost the same exact ground of the Cell Saga, down to the twin Androids and they even straight up bring back Cell...but worse. If they were going to retread the Cell saga, they could have at least brought back Cell in somewhat of his former glory...instead of a mindless husk that just resembles him. Cell Max is Cell with none of the reasons why people liked Cell. I can't for the life of me understand that decision one bit.
Oh, and Piccolo even gets a powerup just like in the Cell Saga too. And just like in the Cell Saga, I'll bet that his new form will almost IMMEDIATELY get nerfed the next time a new villain shows up. Super Kami Piccolo got one good showing against Cell, and half a good showing against 17, and then that's it. Orange Piccolo will probably be nerfed the moment he sees Goku and Vegeta, and they reabsorb the protagonism from his system.
I mean, all Gohan Beast did was make Gohan's ultimate state look like SSJ2 Teen Gohan again.
Cell isn’t much different in the Kai abridged “he’s just a lot less subtle about it”

It really is a tragedy that we'll never get a real conclusion to TFS's DBZ :( The high school and Buu arcs were my favorite ones in the entire franchise, and I'll never get to see TFS's spin on them because of TOEI's bullshit wearing down the willpower of some of their biggest fans.

@@dorkfish1275 wouldn't make a difference. Mystic is a different transformation path than super saiyan forms. Potential Unlocked is roughly equivalent to SS3 without the stamina drain, so it'd be basically be the same Gohan.
@@ricksaburai Gohan's mystic form is far stronger than ssj3 even if it had a stamina drain. It's better in every way
It was mostly that Toriyama was told to keep making a Dragon Ball because it made so much money and he had nobody to tell him not to do something. That's why the Buu saga went on so long.
