They’re so lucky to be in bluecoats. This takes a TON of skill it’s so hard to make it. I am no where close to the eligibility of making it. They can EASILY toss and there’s me who can’t after being on rifle line for 5 years and saber like for only 1 season 💀
it just takes learning the right technique... 1 year or 5 year experience just having the right technique when you spin will immediately make you eligible :)
It’s been 25 years since my last guard competition/performance & even though I absolutely hated most warm-up drills (this one included) I still get chills from seeing beautiful technique, skill & raw talent, as well as a bit of sadness as I realize that there’s no way I could cleanly execute any of the tricks, skills, performance requirements, etc. that I once did. Though that could also be because what we considered to be “advanced” or “elite” back then isn’t worth mentioning (or doing) when compared to the insanely more advanced tricks & skills that is performed nowadays.
K I R S T E N no they get painted a different color my high school guard did that for their show they had orange and purple rifles because their show was about mixing the primary colors it was awesome
this might have been a rhetorical question but once you really research it you realize just how much Drums Corps rehearse. Its all sumemr, from late may to early august, with the first month alone there is practice every day or almost every day of the week for usually well over 6 hours a day depending on the corp. Then they start tour where there are shows every 1-4 ish days and rehearsals daily in between with multiple 2-4 ish hour blocks. It. Is. Wild.... SO. MANY. HOURS. REPS on REPS on REPS over and over and over and over. SO much rehearsal. (not to rant lol just very passionate about this hahaha)
This is the worst gun safety video I've ever seen. Was this put together by Dick Cheney? 😆 Seriously though. Pretty cool. I'd definitely knock myself out trying some stuff like that.
This scratches the right part of my brain

I’m not apart of this Guard, but I do indeed do this sport. And trust me, we knock ourselves out trying this stuff as well 😂
