No and if they do they will tell you just how they told me. "Ma'am, you want me to give you legal advice for free. I tell you what I'll give you some legal advice. Now I charge $5,000 if you can't pay that then don't ask for free legal advice from a lawyer goodbye." If you're rich you don't need God, but if you're poor then you need him. I'm poor so I know I need him.

When COD was passionate about their game. It was fun, the fan base wasn't divided, and they didnt make half a** work. Now they became about money and look at COD NOW Fast and Furious used to be great when they cared about it and wasn't money hungry. You can't not compare law with art work. When you creating something you can tell when its about money because they just throw things together and thats it. That's what he's saying. Distributors don't watch the movies, don't hardly market it, or don't believe in it. In order for movies to work and come out great everyone needs to be on board. Just like Netflix they don't market they're shows and use all that money to make it but don't promote it, or market it right and 99% of Netflix shows don't make it pass season 1
Art like movies and stuff takes teamwork. That what he also said. To make a great movie, takes story, cast, great production, great market, and distributor. Guess what it doesn't matter if your screenplay A1 or cast if nobody doesn't know it existed then what's the point. It's called balance u need to be passionate about understand is it great money wise but they just throwing passionate out the window. In business you not suppose to get behind anything you don't believe in anyway. Now you can compare the business with lawyers because lawyers won't take your case if they don't believe it'll win and if that lawyer passionate about your case 9 out of 10 that lawyers will see to it you'll win That's how movies should be.
This is only true if you care more about profitability than quality If my priorities are the complete opposite, my focus will be more on crafting a timeless work rather than juicing every last penny out of audiences Of course, the real fun comes when a high-quality film also makes boatloads of money (Joker etc.). But executives are allergic to artistic risk by nature, so they will never be able to spearhead that sort of massive change

On the 750k to make a decent movie, he is wrong. You can make a great movie for around 200 to 300K. You may not get a big name actor but you can make a great film for a low cost.

Movie distributors sound like the dregs of humanity. This is a business that sounds ripe for disruption by independent thinking, tech innovation, and filmmaker organizing.

I started working on my first movie after doing several concepts and Ideas but honestly, i have no idea how to start but knowing these obstacles are there. I love this channel, i have learned so much. I have an offer to write a project for netflix but i dont want to to work for that souless company.
