I am 62 and have found over the years that Qantas has gone from excellent to good to bad then worse. Yes I'm Australian.
I work for QF and can say that the fish is rotting from the corporate head.
Even if they get rid of the leprechaun, it won’t matter as the next is simply groomed in the same kiln.
I love my job and the history of the QF brand but HATE what has been done to my dream job.

@@AudioTones67 Agreed. I think most of us understand the difficulties of keeping the channels in sync and we all appreciate the efforts required to edit your videos. I'm in Singapore now as I watch this video, on the night of the Grand Prix. It has just rained buckets, but I think it might be over by the start of the race. Hopefully that will cool things down for the drivers. Keep it up Steff, you are doing a great job. And whilst I am severely biased, I think I would fly SQ even if it was more expensive. Cheers mate.
Singapore airlines is one of the best if not the best airlines I’ve ever had the pleasure to fly with.

Stef, I gave up on QF business class years ago. First we went for EK and Qatar's services to Europe but we hated the transits in the middle east. We've just done a return to Europe on SQ and it was great. I've also chosen to fly SQ to Japan and HK through Singapore on a number of occasions even though there was a direct QF flight because my experiences with them had been so poor. We're here in Singapore for the F1 and tried SQs premium economy which is just OK, not great.

Same with me Steph. We're heading to Spain in January and Singapore Airlines are significantly cheaper than QF. Thanks for your tips re more legroom in the business class bulkhead rows - we booked those all the way through.

Welcome to Singapore. We are lucky we can watch part of the track from our condo. 🏎️🏎️. Interesting to hear SIA was cheaper than Qantas. We have flights back to Brissy for Christmas with SIA ….. eye watering $$$$$

Hi Stef. It seems airlines typically charge more for tickets sold originating in their home market. Would be interesting to see what it would cost to buy a return Singapore/Melbourne in business class with Qantas and SAL if you started and purchased in Singapore. I think it's based on an outdated pricing model (customers within your own market pay all the costs of the flight, but those from elsewhere are marginal and tickets are discounted to improve share). Like many mobile phone companies used to reserve their best deals for new customers and wonder why loyalty was an issue. Like the new channel and I'm not bothered by synchronisation. Cheers.
Why would ticket cost more for airlines operating from their home market? Doesn't make any sense to me. I'm from Singapore and SIA flights seems cheaper from flying in and out of Singapore compared to other places because I guess that's where the bulk of the airplanes are and there are just more flights. When I travel to other country I also try to search their home grown airlines cos I thought they would be cheaper too. Is it suppose to be more expensive?
Singapore was more expensive than Qantas I found but that’s business class out of perth.
Lots of memories coming back. The year we went we just missed the grand prix, and they were in the midst of taking the infrastructure about. It was also the last year that you could hire electric scooters in Singapore before they were banned. We were able to race about a 3rd of the track on E scooters!!! Cant wait to come back. As for the QF saga, its not the issues that you have, its how you handle them and treat your customers, and this is where their issues are.

I can't remember ever flying Qantas (Apart from maybe when I was a kid, but I cant remember any). Virgin and Jetstar are usually much cheaper (Yes I know Jetstar is apart of Qantas). Especially considering virgin and jetstar are usually the same price, except virgin includes checked baggage.
QANTAS management have taken advantage of the loyalty of Australians and it is a long way back for many of us.

Qantas has gone from the worlds best airline to an utter dog's breakfast. And as an Australian it saddens me.
Surprised they wouldn't let you bike on the Singapore Grand Prix course. At the Montreal Grand Prix I was able to walk the circuit no problem!
Qantas is so expensive, it’s not surprising that people are choosing other options.
I’m flying Emirates to Europe next year-the Qantas option was $1500 more expensive & the flight, though marked Qantas is operated by Emirates! Don’t know why this would be.

Singapore Airlines have won second place to Qatar Airlines and Qantas is now firth , Next year maybe regraded to thirdworld next year . The CEO of Singapore Airlines gets less than 1.5 million compared to Alans 7 million including bonuses . Singapore's boss has always looked after the staff whereas Alan seems to think the staff are expendable and now we see they are not .
We always fly Singapore overseas, sadly, only in economy recently I was on a flight from Perth to Melbourne, but it was an international flight so it had just come from London and there was a three hour delay because one of the electrical windows was broken I agree though Qantas brand is kind of going down the drain

In the period 2008-2014 I flew with Qantas four times and on three of those times had bad experiences; after 2014 I decided never to use it again. What struck me the most and has remained with me is the ‘don’t care, take it or leave attitude’ of the airline towards it passengers. And price-wise there are cheaper options. have a feeling it’s only gotten worse.

Interesting on the flight costs. I am flying to Singapore from Melbourne next weekend on business/holiday trip and Singapore Airlines was far more expensive that QANTAS, although in Economy might make the difference
I found, over a few searches, that SQ was cheaper in Business and Premium Economy most times compared to Qantas. They were closer for economy fares.
SQ is cheaper from anywhere else except from Singapore. 😅😅
I just did this exact thing on this exact Airbus except bne-sin-bne. 15A and 14K were my seats..I did the overnite service both ways and slept soundly. I would never ever fly QANTAS going back over 20years. It's hard to get fired from QANTAS, that's very clear when travelling with them.
Choosing Singapore Airlines over Qantas, it is a no brainer.

Haha, Bob's Burgers is my travel go-to. Also one of our cabin crew members said it was her favourite show as well.
Better after the GP as then they don't care about the track and last time (was it 2019?) we all took pushbikes to the track to do a "hot lap" which very quickly turned into a wet lap! 😂
The Qantas situation is interesting as I have flown about 20 times with QF over the last 5 months (both domestic and international) and haven't experienced 1 issue. The staff have all been amazing and the luggage has all made it and no flights were cancelled on me last minute. I agree that their corporate side and staff treatment has been crappy lately but from a customer point of view I have absolutely no complaint. Most of the customer issues are not in their control, security screening etc...the main one that was actually also affected most other airlines as they simply ditched their own ground handling in favour of the contracted handler that served nearly all the others. Media beat up most of it or I am ridiculously lucky and considering I am yet to win Lotto in 40yrs I think that is not the case 😉
My experience also but .... Qantas are simply not price competitive today, nowhere hear.

Personally I watch both because the content versus the balance is irrelevant, and I'd watch anything.
My wife who is an over the shoulder viewer doesn't see any difference so I don't see the need to worry too much. (Though she enjoys watching your wife take the lead periodically)

Having grown up watching reruns of MASH played seemingly in no particular order I am totally ok with out of sync content. I actually prefer to see this because it opens up the content experience. We know you are not actually still in the Cirrus with Niko. Just roll with it or you'll go nuts.

I have done 5 Singapore business class in the last couple months and its not bad. I have never had a issue with Qantas and will continue to use them but the prices are right at the top so they do lose my support. Currently looking at approx 8 flights to book and qantas does not even rate- so sad. I feel sorry for the staff as they cop all the shit from angry clients.

I hope Qantas can bounce back. They need to hire more staff and not pay their execs as much as they do… Dare I say it, a bit of a management shake up is needed. They urgently need to do it so they are in good shape for project sunrise.
As for the channels in sync I wouldn’t stress.
SQ has a much better product and cheaper that was a no brainer

Agree re QANTAS, they have a way of losing customers. All the points I earned on a EU trip in 2019 have expired during the pandemic, thanks for nothing QANTAS.
Flew with Sia a few months back and their standards have slipped and their entertainment is rubbish imo c'mon Sia get better.
