- We have a Baby Genius on our hands, but Big Jers doesn't seem to understand who his parents are...or does he? When we ask Jersey who is Mom or Dad, he points to himself. He's got "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes" down pat though!

Why don't you put a toy in your hand and say "go give this to mama, or dada" and so on? Give him an object to give to the person you want him to identify.
What if you point to Mama or Dada and say, “who’s that?”
Obviously he knows things but you should try letting him tell you in words. Take a few toys and ask him what it is, like car, let him say car to you, a book. Repetition of words to object is key. Not too many toys to overwhelm him at this point.

Yes, Jersey knows who Mama and Dada are but, Mama and Dada belong to him. Only Ava and Alexis who weren't in the room needed to be looked for according to Jersey. Does Jersey know Ava from Alexis? He's talking more and more and does very well shifting his wants to doing something else. A lot of toddlers aren't able to stop being upset and shift their attention to something else. Way to go Jersey! I love those shark PJ's. Thanks for posting and sharing Ami and Justin. Hope you all are enjoying California.

Thank you for another great video, McClures!!! Jersey is so cute, he changes the color of the day whenever he's on. I love the way he humors you when you hum the baby shark song, Justin. He has such patience with you. I wouldn't worry about whether he knows your name or not. He knows who you are. "Where's ______" is a tricky concept for someone so little, I would guess. Especially since so much of what he's learned so far has been all about him (i.e., where's your head, shoulders, knees, toes, eyes, hair, etc.) Ami could be right, though. He don't have to answer to you! It is his world, after all.
