After playing these types of games for many hours I know that you are best off taking the free games. There is no doubt in my mind. I can recall 4 or 5 times where 8 games turned into hundreds more which resulted in substantially more money then I was offered at the start of the bonus. I watched many videos on here that prove it. I'm sure over the long term the two options do pay the same, however, I am convinced if I'd waited a little longer...(and all you "slot" experts say...the RNG is constantly running - right?) My chances may have been better. Yes, taking the credits is very volatile...but I wanted to do it at least once. I'd probably wouldn't do it again...unless A) I'm tired B) I'm up a lott. My largest money hit came from this exact machine with 450 free spins at $1.35. I let the spins play out to the end for $1089. I was tempted more than once to see what the instant payout would give me. Talked myself out of it at 400 spins, then again at 300 and 200. I am with you, I love free spins.
I love the split symbols version of the game. It's been a long time since these games showed me some love. I keep trying. I don't have a way of knowing -- but I'm convinced the two options, over the long term, pay approximately the same percentage. After seeing this I decided to deny the urge for free spins and take the credit prize. 2 times at 190 spins I got paid over 300. (Max was 700). I was satisfied... thanks to this video I had the guts to take a chance on it finally.

In my opinion, most people will take the free games in the hopes of retriggering...which is possible...and also because most times... it takes so long to get this amount of free spins. I know for a fact there is a difference. I played a machine with the same choice last week. It originally gave me 8 free spins and a credit choice of between 3 dollars and 75 dollars. In the first 8 spins I retriggered for another 200 spins and then later on other retriggers. When I ended i probably had 400 spins and the total at the end was $885. Far different than 3 of 75. I looked at the credit option when I retriggered at 200 games and the high end was 2200 dollars.

For the first and last time I chose the instant payout on the left of China Shore with the first 3 lines of all ying-yangs on a $1.50 bet. The win range was from $40 to over $1,600. My payout was $44.36, I vowed to never do that again!!! On the other hand, just the other day I had 1 in the first row and the full next two rows = 80 free spins on a $1.50 bet. My 10th free spin in I hit a full screen of turtles = $1,500. A few spins later I retriggered for another 280 spins, then another retrigger for 200 spins and a few more here and there totaling 630 spins. My final hand payout was $3,120.00! I'd never have gotten those 500+ extra spins choosing the left side!

Some people would rather see those large amount of spins...because it takes so long to get them...so I understand. But, I must say...I am happy they now give us the option.
I agree, they are not the same. For instance, on many occasions I have won more from the free spins than what was offered, so they cannot be the same. I think each separate spin you let go triggers a new RNG given the amount of spins you have left.

It depends on what you want. I prefer to take the free games because #1 you get a break and you can get a drink, walk around if you have a buddy your playing with. #2 you have the opportunity to get more spins if you take the free games.
#3 it gives you time to reflect on whether you want to keep playing, or move to a different machine, helps with strategy.

I played China Shores today at Maryland Live Casino. Put $10 in and played 40 cent bets. On my fourth bet the machine awarded me its $363 maxi bonus. I guess that bonus is random as my reels added up to nothing.
