    Some more exp maker advice!
    Tip 1:Get your basics of your morph, like patterns, fur, accessories, etc. that you want before you color.
    Tip 2: Use the tail as a swatcher, and be able to test different pallets.
    Tip 3: Try out pallets you aren’t familiar with, try out different styles, and switch between breeds, realistic colors, and unrealistics!
    Tip 4: USE. YOUR. ACCESSORIES.
    Tip 5: use colors that either go together, or make them stand out or pop! (don’t make the colors clash with eachother!
    Tip 6: make the accessories the basic color of the eyes, but not the same pallet.
    Tip 7: COLOR THE EYELIDS, WHISKERS, PADS, NOSE AND EARS. color all the small details that don’t seem important.
    Tips 8: don’t use white as a base (you don’t hv to follow this). I recommend using a cream/offwhite color, like light grey, blond, or light orange.

    • @Bridgettedaqueen
      @Bridgettedaqueen 11 місяців тому +22

      The last tip is very usefull,it helps make your morphs look alot more realistic as white pelts can get dirty with the constant running around the forest and turn into a light creamy White. Another good tip is to use a brown-ish black as when you see a stray black cat you'd notice their brown-ish black coat from their living as a stray.

      what if i dont like super detailed morphs? in my opinion, they look messy and just look like you spammed your paintbrush everywhere ( no hate to those who like detailed morphs! ) esp since simplistic morphs are considered " trendy " now.
      ps: you shouldnt be chosing people for dep by their morph :)

    • @Snekelord12
      @Snekelord12 11 місяців тому +2

      @@KATTSUDAWWZ I never said I was choosing people by their morph, I've noticed that people in the game assume that you are exp by how you're morph looks, if you're morph just has a back pelt with maybe some white splatters people will think you are new and aren't as exp as someone who lets say have a very detailed calico with vines, they see the person with a detailed morphs as someone who's been playing for a long time enough to know how to act and how the morph editor works, if you don't like very detailed morphs then you can also have simple morphs, just make sure the simple morphs don't like they were made in a hurry and you'll be good to go.

      @@Snekelord12 oh, i mustve misunderstood, im sorry, and wdym by " made in a hurry "? as in, for example, fully black morph w only grumpy eyes? if so, i take that as an insult. but, this is all my opinion and dont take this as an attack! im just responding to your opinion.
      also, dont mind me asking, what is your definition of a simple morph? do you see simple morphs as just a couple of colors and little-to-no markings? because thats what simple morphs are. usually they look like they " were done in a hurry ", because they. are. simple
      edit: i noticed i sound really rude, please dont take it as me being rude, i just get really.. defensive over the topic of simple morphs.

    • @Snekelord12
      @Snekelord12 11 місяців тому +2

      @@KATTSUDAWWZ thanks for the clarifying you weren't being rude because I actually thought you were being rude 😅 and my definition of a simple morphs is a morph with little to no detail, and what I meant by not making them look like they were made in a hurry is basically don't add very odd colors to you're cat if they are intended to be a specific breed like for example if you're making a calico don't add pink/blue in the back legs or add green on the mane, but this is just my opinion as well and you don't have to follow these tips I made, also I get that some people can get defensive over particular things but in the future please try to stay calmer or ( sorry if what I'm about to say next sounds bad but ) not make a fuss over it, my comment was simply to help some beginners who are new to the game, not to tell people what they can and can't do in the game, but you decided it was an attack on simple morphs, and that I was saying that simple morphs are bad and that in order to be good at the game you have to have an overly detailed morph, when in reality I was just voicing a helpful tip I've realized that could help beginners in the game ,also I take you saying " this is all my opinion so don't take this as an attack " as an insult, and no I'm not doing this because you said it Im saying this because you implied I would have taken it as an attack, why would I take you're opinion as an attack? ( Side note ) you took me saying " try not to make a morph look like it was made in a hurry " as an insult? It was intended for all people who read the comment not specifically to you, so let's put aside our opinions and just have fun playing the game, because honestly this is a ridiculous argument over morphs in a game where cats live in the wild and kill each other.
      Edit: sorry if I got anything wrong in this reply and I apologize if I sound rlly rude in this as well.
      Edit 2: omg I just reread my first reply to you and realized how rude it sounded when I said " just don't make them look like they were made in a hurry " I am so sorry 💀

      @@Snekelord12 ohh! im so sorry, i have a bad habit of jumping to conclusions, i apologize, and i know i shouldn't be responding to this because you are trying to drop it, but i dont mean to argue with this comment, and i hope to not respond to your next comment, im just explaining some stuff since i dont want you to take it the wrong way.
      i am very self-centered a lot without realizing it, and usually take things a little more seriously since i assume it was aimed at me. i apologize for making it all about me.
      i took " making it look like they were made in a hurry " as an insult since again, i assume many things were directly for me. i understand now that your statements were not meant to insult, but to educate ( in a way ).
      im sorry for making this an argument, i know that your intention was not rude now. and you are right, this is ridiculous, and i should have never started it in the first place. i have already mentioned that i am self-centered, and i thought this was an attack.
      when i said " this just my opinion, dont take this as an attack! ", i didnt mean to imply that you would take it as one, i was just saying not to since a lot of people, ( including me, a lot ) would probably see it as an attack. im sorry for making it offensive.
      as ive said before, i make things revolve around me. i now see that your comment was just a few tips for people who needed it, and im realizing that i am in the wrong here.
      though, when i said that i take you saying " made it in a hurry " as an insult, i assumed that it was you being rude. and i understand that I made this an attack on simple morphs, and i will try to do better in the future, but your response just rubbed me the wrong way, ( i understand that me being " rubbed the wrong way " is pretty much irrelevant, but i just wanted to say your way of words makes your tone sound rude, and i am also aware that the same goes for me. ).
      edit: dang i said sorry way too much

    Valkyrie pretty much already covered the basics (plus everyone in the comment section), but I’d like to share a little thing that I recently found out- if you don’t really want to use the grumpy or heavy eyes, but you don’t want to leave the eyes just plain either, try adding the under eye markings, eye markings, etc. because it makes the plain eye look a bit more natural I guess, and overall it just looks a bit better that the plain eyes. And as someone already said- it just makes the morph look a bit more cheerful (if that’s what you want your morph to look like).

  • @InvertedBeans
    @InvertedBeans Рік тому +24

    I have discovered that when putting under eye markings (not under eye round) with out any other eye additions (grumpy eyes eye lashes and upper eye markings) you can get this cheerful look on ur morph. It’s adorable- not my style of morph but still cute

  • @Chooowee

    I find that, when making ocs, choosing 4 different colors (one of them being accent color) is better than 3. I mean, you can work with 3 colors, but 4 seems more harmonious.
    And I find it pretty when the 4 colors also have a decent amount of contrast, and are not so similar to one another. And generally, I try to keep colors in only one temperature. For example, if I use a cool grey as my first color, I'll use the other colors in a more "cool tone" as well. So if I'm making a calico with cooler toned greys, I'll seek cooler oranges rather than more saturated, yellow-ish oranges.
    Its a bit hard to explain, but part of it is color theory.

  • @yes-bl3lm

    how to make a good oc: (my version)
    keep it simple, do not overcomplicate. (there are too many messy ocs with literally all the patterns they can shove onto it.)
    do not use an idea that you commonly see on other people's ocs. having a unique oc makes it look better. (but don't make it absurd.)
    keep it realistic.
    avoid adding too many flowers and vines to your cat.
    avoid adding those hat/coat thingies... unless you're a kittypet. it doesn't look right. if you're in a clan, it just doesnt make sense to have those on you.
    if you like short-tempered, grumpy cats, simply use the grumpy eyes.
    as they said in tip 3, try using fades. fading on the tail and legs are the best spots.
    most people go "go crazy with the markings." i go very much against that. it just makes the cat messy and ugly. and to add onto that, there is at least 5 cats in the clan with that design. its everywhere. your oc doesnt stand out following a design that almost everyone else does. simpler ocs are better.

    • @valkyriestudioswcue
      @valkyriestudioswcue  11 місяців тому +4

      100% agree! I only go messy with the vines if my cats love flowers and vines! And my character has complicated markings because she’s meant to not look realistic because she’s a spirit kitty

    • @KATTSUDAWWZ
      @KATTSUDAWWZ 11 місяців тому +1

      this is all my opinion !
      YES! simple morphs, imo, always look better and more complete. I do not really like complicated morphs!
      I fully agree with the coat things in a clan, clan cats dont wear items. Clan cats hunt and sleep in moss nests, the coats will be dusted easily, and its just not realisitic!
      Grumpy eyes can also convey a tired or drowsy look, and no eyelids can make your cat look excited, up-beat etc.
      Fades are alright, but i recommend not just going by the blocks, and use the sliding thing in paintbrush. But, imo, subtle fades or no fades always look better, and i like to base my morphs off of real cat breeds, and not many real breeds have the fade look.
      UNIQUE = BETTER!!

    I can share some of the steps of how I make my morphs. S1:Make the morphs fur color the same color the same color as segment 1 of your tail. S2:Make the markings the second to last color and last color of the pallet you are using. S3:I recommend adding the face mask to the head of your morph because it catches more fade. S4:Add the accessories if you want. S5:Add any changes to the muzzle,ear or eye color. Also sorry if I am sounding a bit like Valkyrie😅. You can use these steps if you want but also remember to use some of the steps in Valkyies videos where she gives you advice on how to make morphs because I am kind of exp in morph making.

    I have some tips too!
    Tip 1:Use references! References help alot, as for me i made one of my morphs using the colors of a macaw as i used a macaw picture for reference! But there is alot of stuff you can use for reference or palette ideas! Or simple color your morph the colors of your reference.
    Tip 2:I dont recommend using alot of accessories as that makes morphs look messy or crazy and often unrealistic, realistically cats have 1 accesory Max in the warriors series, but up to 4 or 5 are fine! Or make the Accessoires match together, for example i put on ruffled headpiece (or whatever the head thing is called from Val 24),ruffled tail bow and from 23 Winter the legwarmers are a good Combo, but if your in a clan i recommend using Wild Accessoires like vines, flower and plants, and for kittypets or loners/rogues you can use coats or hats!
    Tip 3:use unique marking combos! Some that i recommend are charcoal markings+face mask,cap mask+eyespot, cheeks+dual mask(or any other face mask),dual mask+face stripes or charcoal markings, square nose blaze+extended nose bridge (for sad face or sunglasses if you want), half mask+point mask or any markings like brindle mask, face stripes. Or muzzle pads+muzzle spot!
    Tip 4:like valk said, Use fadings or try out new palettes, put 2 diffrent colors together and stand out!

    Some little side notes for tips of mine when morph making.
    1. Grasp your inspiration.
    Inspiration can come off in many different ways, I often look into species of creatures, surroundings, or even songs!
    2. Put the basics of the morph.
    Before adding your colors, I suggest setting out the patterns, the type of eyes you desire, etc!
    3. Try adding fades, and make morphs that blend in well together!
    If this is not your own preference, that is perfectly fine! But, why I highly recommend this tip, is because it makes your oc/morph a lot more appealing to the eye. Light to dark fades is sometimes what I do as an example, light caramel to a darkish-brown.This is just an instance, if you do use this tip, you may of course make your owns twists.
    4. Keep the name in mind if you have it planned out, appearance is genuinely very involved with the names of the cats in warriors, OR somehow involved with their story or lore. A basic tip that can help overall!
    5. Always remember, this is YOUR morph, if you don't want to take in my tips or anyone else's for that matter, its PERFECTLY fine, if someone doesn't like the way you stylize to your own liking, well too bad! They can't do anything about that, if your style in your opinion is perfect as it is to you, you don't have to change anything about it, so always make sure your doing you!
    And those were my main tips on morph making WCUE, if anyone reads this, this is all just my statement, so you can always disagree, but I generally hope this helps to anyone if it does reach out.

    I’m not a very good person at morph making, but I do similar things to these. I like making the facial expressions on my distinctive, and I like experimenting with fun genetic color palettes. Also for some of the people out there that have a hard time thinking of oc ideas, make a basic morph! Add details after you get your base done, and then once you have the basic rough of the oc you’re making, add on more details! It’s more fun and relaxing to take it step by step rather than doing it all at once.

    This is a wonderful tutorial!!!
    Additional:
    If you have the ears gamepass, you should use the ears to represent personality.
    •folded for shy, sweet, and/or cute personalities.
    Example: I used the folded ears for one of my she-cats. She has beautiful light/pale/diluted calico fur with a lot of white. She may be blind, but she is very shy, sweet, caring, and overall just adorable.
    •curled ears for wild, happy, and/or adventurous looks. (You can also use fluffy lynx ear tips)
    Example: An apprentice she-cat named Sparkpaw. She is wild, happy, adventurous, loyal, and brave. Her bright green eyes compliment her firey ginger and white coat.
    I also use references of real cats to make in wcue. I then add as much detail and extras to the morph as possible.
    Bored of plain, boring morphs? Literally just use as many color variations, markings, fur types, accessories, and gamepasses as much as you can to compliment the character. Experiment like crazy! Try every single option. Use many markings to create that fade! Stop going so slow and basic and go crazy with the markings and fur. Don't just look for the things you think you need, like if you where to make a tabby, don't just look for the stripes and call it done!!! Add markings on top of markings to create a beautiful fade! Use many different color variations to make it more detailed and realistic. Most importantly, don't get impatient! You can do this.

    You could also make you're cats by genetics. Its really fun to make and is realistic. If you do it that way the cat(s) turn out quite well looking. (You could look up cat genetics, go off by how the parents look, or use a wheel if names.) I like doing this because its fun, gives me something to do and its super realistic.

    Some miscellaneous tips I have/use that help me:
    - Another tip to help solid-colored morphs that I use more than fades is pattern colors. I'll have the first pattern color lighter than the main color and the second darker, or vice/versa. Then I'll usually randomize the patterns to add since I am indecisive.
    - I'll use the advanced coloring for multi-colored morphs to add more splashes of color, especially if it has three or more colors.
    - Even though I have the urges, I don't put every single gamepass I have on every single morph. Some of my morphs don't have any gamepasses on them!
    - It's okay if not all your morphs are realistic/show realism! One of my morphs is literally a checkerboard (it took way too long to make tho)
    - sometimes taking a small break helps me clean the morph when I return because looking at it with fresh eyes can help me see some small things that I wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

    I played WCUE back in 2020, and i think this is really helpful! Especially for color theory.
    For color palettes, I recommend to double check the colors, i do this when it comes to making characters. If you plan to make a saturated cat, it's best to avoid dull colors, if you plan to use a duller color, avoid using saturated colors, but if you plan both. Then use both!

    for the first tip, how you were explaining how some of the colours told an oc what their personality could be.. soo i had this pink oc that faded into blue, water colours basically (created by myself!) and fully did the opposite since it looked cute, i made its personality ‘cute’ and had it as a former kittypet, really the oc was super manipulative and even the people i played with had no idea!! mwahahaha

    2 more tips!
    - make the outside ear color match thier inside ear, even sometimes colorpick the outside ear and use that if that dosnt look good then go for white or black using this method makes the ears look more natural
    - make the eye colors P O P theres only two things for eyes, close to colur and fitting in, or popping out as much as possible.

    I am going to give some more tips I personally abide by. Even if I don’t really nail them down, and have a lot of my morphs look odd, these will work in theory.
    1. Fades *AREN’T* everything.
    Alright, let me explain. What I mean by fades is the stereotypical black-white gradient (ex. A morph with a brown head that fades to cream on the tail). If you look at a real life animal, things like this are quite uncommon. Instead, they have flecks of color all over their bodies. For example, a red fox. Red fox pelts look solid red, black, and white from a distance, but if you look closely their red fur isn’t just one shade, but a bunch of different shades in no specific pattern. To imitate this in WC:UE, you could use the brindle or similar markings and color them different shades of your base color.
    2. Counter-shading
    (Note: this tip doesn’t really apply to single-color animals) Countershading is a term that describes how, normally, animals have base coats darker than their underbellies. Even if you aren’t going for a realistic morph, this color method is key to making your character well-made. For example, a cat with a white coat and black underbelly will not look good most of the time. This also goes for markings. The main markings on animals, such as a tiger’ stripes, are almost ALWAYS darker than the base coat. A tan cat with white stripes does NOT look good.
    3. Use references!
    References can make your character 100% better. And this doesn’t just go for art, using a picture of a real-world animal or whatever you’re basing the OC off of can make in-game characters that much better. Like if you’re struggling with the previously mentioned countershading, then look up real-world examples to practice!
    4. Color theory
    Like Valkyrie mentioned, studying color theory can go a long way to make your color choices that much better. However, this can take a lot of time, and I know many people wouldn’t like to invest hours of their time to just make a pixelated cat look nice. So here are some things you can do; Look up references, like I stated before, or use a color pallet generator. Coolers is a good one that gives pretty nice pallets.
    I hope any of my tips helped. Also, these can be used for ANY game involving coloring, or even artwork! Valkyrie’s tips were great, but I thought sharing these might help the few who still need help.

    One note: for anyone watching this later than posted (I’ve come back to the vid and rewatched it when it came up on my feed) Her morph that she’d never seen anyone have something look like is VERY common now! Many, many people do orange, white, and blue or orange and blue (or something else like with yellow instead of orange, but you know what I mean) I AM NOT BY ANY MEANS SAYING THAT SHE IS FALSE OR LYING OR UNEXPERIENCED what I am saying is that don’t copy her morph thinking that there’s only two like that in the world. It’s perfectly fine to have a morph like this, heck, I do too! Just don’t go around bragging that whatever morph you have has never been made, because chances are, even if you haven’t seen one, it’s been made 1-1,000 times at least during some point or another.
    Hope this helps!! 😊

    I'm a little late to the party but have a little something to add to Tip 1, 3, and 4... COLOUR/FASHION BALANCE.
    It's a crucial yet commonly overlooked step to creating a visually pleasing morph. Think of FASHION BALANCE like this:
    Someone is wearing a black dress, black elbow-length gloves, black beret, and bright red stilettos. Their red shoes stick out like a sore thumb and fit nowhere into the outfit. So, what should they do to balance their look? They should put on bright red lipstick, have a red handbag, and maybe even wear red jewellery. (I hope that helps people understand it a little better?)
    This should be the same as making a morph. You should (try to) balance the colours out for visual and aesthetic pleasure! I always see morphs that have so much potential with small fashion "flaws" (I'm not saying the MORPH is flawed, all morphs are beautiful in their own ways! I'm talking about the world of fashion here!) and it makes me sad that people don't know something as significant as visual fashion weight.
    Valk's main morph is a beautiful example of Fashion Balance. The oranges, greens, and blues on them have been placed with neat precision. The colours expertly complement each other, and with the small addition of greens on the legs, shoulders, and eyes, it helps bring out the orange and blue. Very gorgeous morph because of the evenly-balanced colours present. :)
    P.S. Don't expect to all of a sudden get better!!! Morph making is refined through TRIAL AND ERROR. As an expert morph maker, even /I/ have my bad morph-making days. Nobody's morphs are 'perfect', but they're all beautiful. :)

    How to make a morph!
    1.get an color pallete idea, mix the colors, use breeds and cats photos as inspiration
    2. Choose marks, stripes, eye marks and other things are very Nice! The most realistic cats are The tabby (striped) and The tabby coated ones! You can use splotches to spotted cat, coat to some other types of cats, and also do glitched marks!
    3. The body, bassically ears,fur etc. So The curled ears, are most used for she-cats or "cute" morphs, they' re not so much realistic. The folded ears are a bit better, the're from the "Scottish Fold" cat breed, which is gennetically any tone of gray with any tone of yellow for eyes, or they' re splotched as Tricolor cats, with VERY light orange and gray/brown. Now the fur, is opticional, remember that u can make anything look good with short fur. Since the most cats are short furs. But i think mine consiste are the only with long fur, remember to pay attention wich breed your cat is supposed to be before adding anything.
    4. Accesories. So. I ussually think its better to not use much acessories, like, have u ever seen a warrior cat with acessories? If u going to use, as a clan cat, i just think u need to put in max, a leaf, not even a flower, how cats are used to like "flowers are beatifull" no, flowers are only a part of nature, it isnt supposed to be an acessory. Now, as a kittypet, you should use collars, ONLY collars, like, why would someone stock a flower or leaves in its cat? It would'nt be sm cool.....
    5. Name. If u want a cool name, u need criativity, for this, just pick nature things! Warriors name are like.. fur colors, cat body parts natural things, actions, and much more! EX: SoftFern, CloudMane, HoneyCry, SilverStripe. Now, for kittypet names, PLEASE dont use clan names, use normal names, like..... names and human would give, most of the times, the kid is the one that gives the name, here is some examples of names that i gave to my cats when i was small: Rouse, Strawberry (Moranguinho for brazil), Blackberry (amora), Candy, Skye and others.. Im done, im lazy to write more, if ur🇧🇷 scroll
    Note to the🇧🇷: STOP PUTTING FRICKIN CLAN CAT NAMES IN KPS BRO
