Play the recording at 0.90 speed and you will better hear what the tempo SHOULD be. Once again, we have crazy Americans who think that "tearing off to the Races" is somehow more virtuous than playing at a tempo where one can actually hear the articulation and the GRAND MAJESTY of the composition. Technically speaking though, an excellent performance aside from the tempo issue.
Written for the "entrance of the Matron of the ball and other important people" (!) at the Vienna Phil's first benefit ball for the retired musician's pension fund (1924); has been played every year since then at Vienna Phil's balls. mb
This line up is just soooo stacked
This fanfare is to be played following the Moment of Crowning at the Coronation of King Charles III.
What a WASTE of an EXQUISITE fanfare.... on rotting lump of humanity.
Ahhh...nothing finer than brass. It gets the blood flowing. Great performance!!!
Tony Bienchetta is my private lessons teacher bow before his awesomeness trombones gonna rule the world
No one cares
MadGamer20 I do, the trombones do, and you should too
Yes
FANTASTIC!
thank, thank you
Wow, this blew me away. Truly an inspiring performance.
Wow goosebumps and I like the bass! But of course the entire sound is stunning
🎼🎵🎶Another good display of brass playing virtuosity!
Played after the Crowning at the Coronation of King Charles III.
This was pretty good, a little messy though. I suggest watching the performance by the BRSO & Thielemann.
Perfect selection for the crowning of King Charles III. 👏🏼👑
Poor trombone was like “fuck too fast”

Damn.
To quote Butch Cassidy, "Who are those guys?!"
Bobby Shew plays trombone with the Vienna Phil. Who knew.
This isn’t the Vienna Phil even though the piece is their fanfare. You can check the description for the credits.
I know it’s been 3 years but it’s a joke!@@beilichou1656

I really don't like this recording
It's not a great interpretation and the tempo a little too fast. They were probably just having fun.
Why would you say something like that? This is a "Joyous life-affirming" performance of this great work
