- This was my first successful run skipping the paraglider which ultimately should save us a couple minutes if everything goes well. I died a few times on the fall damage cancels so there's still a lot of time to save.

TotK finally did what BotW couldn't; beating the game without getting the Paraglider. Still amusing to me tho that half the run is the Great Sky Island. Nice job on this, Gym!
I think it shows how brilliantly designed the sky island is

it's because the game is greatly design and you can go directly to the final boss instead of doing every regions quests..

TOTK speedruns are so unoptimized for the moment being that it's fun seeing what people come up with to shave off entire minutes. I am pretty sure sub 1 hour will happen in a month time or so.

I definitely agree. When BotW was 10 days old the run was significantly over an hour, then by the time TotK came out it was down to a 23:42. So maybe when TotK is 6 years old it will be a sub 30 run

We are at a time currently where speed runners’ WR runs have themselves missing a shrine cycle. Can’t wait to see the time in the arbitrary future where the occurrence of this kills a run lol

I think I'll prefer something like all dungeon/sages speedrun. I wanna see more tricks and glitches, and more use for the existing ones.

it's only a competition against himself if he's been pushing his own record down many times with no one trying to beat him. which is just not the case.

I'm sure that right now he's focusing on Speedrunning TOTK- The game is brand new which means it's the most exciting time for running it as more and more discoveries are made every day! Once things slow down a bit we'll probably see other things, but right now 86 is absolutely killing TOTK!

You could get sub 1:10, you take all your deaths, and the 40-60 secs you lost on the bosses + all the small things that lost a few seconds, it is 100% doable!

Nintendo are very good at making sure a player can't get softlocked in their game so I'm guessing Great Sky Island is here to stay.
That's funny because 1.1.1 includes a patch for getting stuck at the start.

Hey Gym! Not sure if you’ll see this but there are two glitches that could come in handy, the MsgNotFound glitch where you transfer the early game master sword that is unbreakable 30 damage and the new way to dupe stuff by sorting inventory at the same time as pressing b
You can smuggle any item from another save file. We'll see if it becomes its own category, but you could smuggle any powerful sword, not just MsgNotFound
@@Ghi102 yes but if he makes a new game, the only point to doing that would be to duplicate the strong weapons, the cool thing about MsgNotFound is that it has infinite durability

You can cancel out almost every attack from Seized Construct with elemental Arrows. And since you had quite a lot of them...i just thought i leave this little tip for the next run lmao.

Not sure if it's helpful but I saw someone learned how to not consume zonai devices by doing the sort glitch anywhere, shouldn't consume it in the inventory but drop the device

You should have specificy in the title or thumbnail that you use "amiibos".
Why? Any% usually means anything goes. You don't need to list every glitch and technique you use. If you want to restrict yourself to not using amiibo then you can do that and put that in the title.

Why don't speedruners use the instant spin attacks? It would speed up fights in some areas.
Like, instead of 4 hit, do 2 hit spin attack.
There is 20 frames of lag so that’s why
you have to try to get hit for the final forms of the final bosses of botw and totk
