That's a *really* nice looking car, love the tan colored interior. Love the night review. It's weird to be jealous of your job & rooting for you at the same time!
Trunk space is still better than MK4 Supra. in MK4 it's borderline useless, if it didnt have rear seats to act like storage it would be hopeless. Its not really "bigger sister" to celica as Celica had tons more of room both in rear seats and trunk especially FWD versions, but even All-trac had much bigger trunk than mk4 Supra.
Night review is a good idea and it worked very well here so it would be lovely to see more of them, as long as it is kept as a special occasion once in a blue moon for the right vehicles. It is probably logistically too difficult to set up with privately owned older cars, but it would be cool to see that too - a night review of a 2004 Mercury Marauder would be awesome!
its a cool car i just dont think they shouldve cheaply added the supra name to it if they were gonna use bmw parts. companies are stuck in this reboot fad where thats all they can sell. people want an authentic supra like the models that came before it.
The mk4 supra wasn’t popular when it was being sold- that is why it was discontinued. The only reason why it got popular is because of the fast and furious movies and tuning potential that was discovered later on.
@@junitoortega8656 When it isnt. I especially dont really like the front end on Mk4. It shouldve had pop up headlights like 5th gen Celica. Rear end is really nice tho.
This car is a hilarious collection of compromises that when looked at in the picture absolutely justifies itself in only moving 2,000 units a year. A terrible car for stupid people who can't justify spending less on a Mk IV because they don't want to wrench.
Less? A mk4 is about the same price as these new. Even high mileage mk4s are being seen for barely less or even more if they're 2jzgte models. Sure u can get a na one for 20-30k but that's without knowing your buying a lemon, hidden rust, beaten to death and won't know after getting it,or even a wrecked one that's been repaired. Your dealing with far more risks with a used mk4 than u are with a new mk5 u can get a warranty with in the process.
Hang on now, didn't you have a very similar intangibly perfect monologue moment at the end of the 86 review as well? I'm pretty sure you did. There's something about those GR cars man...
I took delivery of my black, tan interior, manual Supra a little over a month ago! I was waiting for about 9 months and got super lucky with the allocation process. You hit the nail on the head with it all. The exterior is a home run, the tan interior is gorgeous and brings life to the inside, the manual fits its character perfectly, and it makes mundane driving routes a true pleasure. Almost 30 now and knew my timer to get a well-rounded enthusiast car is ticking away. Fortunate to be able to own this car, and hope to have it for a long time!
Its not actually faster with the automatic, at least not in a straight line, hot version tested the automatic and manual variants of them at gunsai and the manual was faster every time from 3 different drivers
Man your final thoughts really hit the spot. Cars are such a passion and brings all of us together. Really glad the Supra made you feel that. Specially these days when the fun is coming out of cars :(
Oh my God! Imagine it freshly waxed! Wow! I think you should just go with the flow and follow your gut feeling, wet know you'll choose the right ones. Plus driving at night through the city having the city lights reflect off the car would be so poetic. Awesome review, the way you described the driving feel was perfect! ..... Man now I want to drive one lol.
I like the car. It shouldn't carry the Supra name. Toyota should save that name for a car *Toyota* designed and built. This doesn't showcase Toyota's performance capability.
More night time reviews!!! Love seeing the lighting in cars to see how it’ll look in the dark. Like many others my only free time to drive “passionately” is during the night time after work. And I love seeing how the Supra is basic in modern terms. Meaning no gimmicks, no multi colored lights everywhere, no frills purely a drivers car. I don’t care if it’s BMW based as long as it’s a 6MT and a powerful engine with some creature comforts (Apple CarPlay lol sorry android users…not sorry) I’m happy. I’m here for the pure driving dynamics. Let me beat on this car and pour my heat and soul into it. Let me feel what it feels at 7k rpms. Let us be one with the road and machine….okay okay..I get I’ll stop with the poetic nonsense lol…but in my opinion this car mixes the right amount of modern tech with analog tech. It has the formula to be great. It’s just smeared with the hate of its linage. I feel its blood is pure…purely its own. Meaning it has Japanese influence in the right areas as well as German influence in the right areas. I understand that if Toyota did this project purely themselves it would’ve been a GR Corrolla meaning it would’ve been great…and it would’ve cost over 2x what a base Corrolla would’ve cost. So $130k or so in terms of supra. I’m sorry in that bracket there’s a lot to choose from. Knowing that sacrifice this is a great car. Now Nissan Z vs this ummmmmm more research is needed….a back to back anyone? lol Nissan v Toyota I pass the mic to you for Zach haha
These should have always had a manual option. If Nissan hadn't announced the Z with a manual, Toyota may have kept the Supra automatic-only. Seeing cars lit up at night is nice.
Idk I'm kinda being unfair with comparing the fifth gen to the fourth but the interior went from this spaceship like but yeah, plasticky capsule to the standard minimalist crap that every other manufacturer has. The supra has always looked good enough to get your grandma to have whiplash trying to get a good look at it but that interior is soooooo BMW it makes me wanna cry. yes the leather is nice but if I'm buying a performance vehicle that drives like a fighter jet I want to feel like I'm in one.
It's partly toyos fault cause they brought less over vs the years before it. The waiting lists are so overcrowded that owners don't even know when their cars are coming. So it's them playing catch up with the demand if anything.
Zack, just wanna say that you seem like a genuinely great person, and your content has been some of my favorite comfort videos, and the night shots look great. Thanks and have a good day
The real shame here is that it’s a Toyota that really is more of a BMW with that world renowned reliability BMW has become so well known for as of late. You should watch the video of The Car Care Nut working on a Supra. You couldn’t give me one of these if I couldn’t sell it.
Im so sad that they will likely stop production in 2026 but one day soon Im gonna have one Ive loved the A90 since the day it was announced and its one of the very few modern cars that has convinced me to care about it god damn i NEED a supra
Strange that it has lit integral side marker lights, front & rear,in the light clusters, but unlit side marker lights in front & rear fenders! 😳😳 Or are the fender ones reflectors only?? Very strange to have them separate,if so?
Love to hear that you are enjoying your job! Your reviews are the best. Also the B roll for this video is insanely good, keep up the great work. Praise from your fellow chicagoian suffering from the bad weather as well.
The sad thing is these wont depreciate as much as other BMWs do....but when the next generation comes out with a Mazda inline 6, that will drive the prices of these down.
I don't fully see that as that I6 is more eco friendly than it is performance. Plus having to unlock the ecu + seeing mazdas autos not really aimed towards that,it'd have to come down to mazda deciding to make a more performance based version of it or one that doesn't have all the hybrid stuff on it. Along with thebfact that it'd have to beat the B58 in how easy it is to make power out of with ease + how strong it is is a major factor if anything.
I’m sure it’s a very nice car but I can’t get over the fact it’s still just a BMW in Toyota clothes. I feel like enthusiast cars is the one area you don’t wanna badge engineer.
stop watching a channel for a few years and it goes from a kid in a garage to car reviews. dont know what happened but glad you are doing good man

10:32 could you please show us more of this angle? it looks amazing, just like a video game. how did you do that?

Need to redirect the feedback about the trunk width to bmw.
by far the only toyota thats worth buying
That supra is better looking that the mark 4 *SHOTS FIRED*

I agree! The Mk4 looks great for sure but people talk about it like is the most beautiful car ever created.

Never will be!!!
If you think this looks better than a Mark 4 get out of the car game!
Well done sir! This is a Toyota Supra
Now I want a new Supra in manual.
Yes please do night time review on cars
Wait the 24 finally has android auto?
I just wanna see one of these decked out in M colors. Just own it' It'll be a beautiful car. It's a bitchin M car.
It doesn’t have android auto
the interior is from a 2016 bmw bro like whatt??
that shit should be illegal
No driving?
The attention this car gets likely was predicted to be impossible without problems lol. Zack is a solo show. unless you count BFB

OMFG THAT’S MY DREAM SPEC 😍. I have never seen a red on tan with a manual until now.

Problem is. People don't wanna pay "toyota design and built" money for it. The Lexus F cars are a strong example of that.
How about the reported wind buffeting issue when driving with the windows down?
They make a plastic attachment you can put on the car to get rid of it. Sadly, many new cars suffer from that issue.

I just saw 3 MkV Supras on a group drive. I am convinced they did this to mock me.
Supposedly this is one of the last years of the current Supra and its BMW Z4 sibling. Specific to the Supra, sales in the 2023 were half of 2022.

So tired of black wheels, ugh.
There's nothing like a real manual transmission.
So better gas mileage than a 4runner, wrx, IS350, etc while being way faster and more fun? Sign me up.
A 4Runner is a completely different type of car. No one is cross-shopping a small sports car with a 4x4 body on frame SUV.
@@bwofficial1776 I didn't say they were. I'm stating that the Supra has way more power and still gets better gas mileage.
