Beautiful airport. Australia looks like an amazing place to fly. How crazy that you witnessed a crash landing like the one shown in the video on the day you decide to film.
Yeah Australia is most certainly a picturesque destination and I definitely try to appreciate it every day! Yeah the crash was the most bizarre experience to literally be talking about air safety that day then witness it hours later. Thanks for watching!
Hey dude great video, Cirrus looks like a very modern up to date cruiser with lots of safety features built in and you can carry 5 pax as well. The only thing that could have been better for me would be easier entry and exit to the cockpit just like in the new Vision Jet.
Yeah I found the entry a little awkward but I could imagine after doing it a few times, if I owned one, that I'd eventually find a rhythm to it if that makes sense. At the same time getting into a Lamborghini Aventador is a little awkward too though!
3:54 You list a FADEC as a Cirrus feature for automation. The SR series doesn't have a FADEC. If it did, the red lever would go away. The blue knob is automated by a physical linkage rather than a computer.
It is a great airplane and I hope to soon own one. However, every airplane will try to kill you the moment you do not respect it. Unfortunately, too many have relaxed their attention in Cirrus airplanes. Enjoy the plane but remember to always be on alert, the plane remains a single engine, and will not tolerate mistakes a low speeds, close to the ground, in a bank where accidents statistically happen.
Bob Smith You’re right there. That thin low camber wing gives it the speed of course , but I hope the manufacturer gives new pilots ( and old ones ! ) a lot of low airspeed maneuvering training in it.
Too many have relaxed their attention in all planes. I've read story after story of pilots that died because they just got lazy. People are also die from planes and conditions being too complex, which the SR22T also solves. And in a worst case scenario, if you do get lazy or stupid, or in over your head, you have the CAPS system.
I'm not sure about the old war bird "forgetting" to put down his gear. I think it was most likely jammed, and he knew it, which is why he put it down on the grass. Old planes suck in that they require a ton of maintenance and you can't get parts for them. Fairly common for them to break down.
Possibly, but I did speak to the pilot, personally, 20 seconds after he climbed out and he was kicking himself pretty bad for forgetting which i doubt he would have done to himself if it was just gear failure. A lot of pilots usually always try and land those old birds on grass anytime they can because its softer on the aircraft's structure and landing gear.
I’m not a licensed pilot but love flying. I’m wondering though, how does a seasoned pilot forget to lower his landing gear? That’s one of the main steps and probably the most important step of the landing procedure. I just don’t know how someone forgets that.
He said he noticed another Pilot fly into the landing circuit at the same time and must have temporarily distracted him enough to skip that part of his landing sequence. He was quite shocked it happened to him.
If you're a billionaire and want something faster and roomier but want to keep the parachute system Cirrus now make a single engine jet aka the Cirrus Vision Jet
Give a brake to the poor pilot that had a landing gear malfunction, proof is that he landed on the grass and not on the runway.Let's remain honest . Your point is well taken taken anyway.
I actually spoke with the pilot after the crash. He said he always landed on the grass section. As the YAK is a very old Russian plane, landing on a softer surface is better for his landing gear. He said he simply got distracted when another light aircraft unusually entered his circuit before landing. that was enough to throw him and he couldn't believe he'd made the mistake. Poor guy was beating himself up pretty bad but mistakes are pretty easy to make in any area of life really.
An avid aviator of any level of wealth would most likely consider owning this aircraft. You might have your jet for the longer haul flights, and the SR22T for short hops. It's a very upscale, simple and safe, four passenger plane that easily gets in an out of the smallest of airfields but can still take on high level flight. Great airplane to go from the city to the slopes.
Beautiful, some one could tell the song in the beginning ??
love the color schemes
fantastic fit out!!!!!!!!!!!

" Doesn't get more Australian then this!" You said it mate

3:43 ЯК-52 is Sovet Unions plane in Australia? How is it?
We actually have a few here in Australia although one crashed and was destroyed about a month ago. Both pilot and passenger passed away unfortunately.
What's the Base model RRP with Air Con??
Does it have a "Roo on the Runway" warning system?
Haha Thats what's missing!
Your reviews are amazing! just subbed
Thanks Suhas!!

All very true!

distraction. New technologies help enormously but it still happens. Humans being human.
Same way people forget their babies in the back seat of the car.
Agent Tux should be the next Bond
He'd definitely keep a lower profile, good attributes for a secret agent spy
after 1000h , HTF do you forget putting gear down mate

😎😎😎😎
If this plane a billionaire toy...why show it to Joe Average? Shouldn't it be affordable to the Average Joe instead?
This aircraft has been purchased by both Billionaire's and Joe Average's because of the unique safety feature.
If it floats, flies or fucks it's cheaper to rent ;)
Seems like most pilots don’t have good taste in music
Haha thats probably my fault. Sorry about that.
Cirrus did not invent the ballistic safety device - sorry for reality
But they did "invent" putting it into a main stream GA aircraft, which has had a big effect on the industry, lives and their sales.

Lol, millionaire's toy at best :p
