Love you videos ❤, tons of informations 👍👍. I live in Canada in zone 6b, and i got 7 sky view hydrangeas last year and OMG they don’t stop to amaze me 😊 tons of blooms, strong stems, sky color blooms and Canada winter hardy !! Loooove it, can’t say enough about it. So far they’re my favourite ❤❤
As usual, you provide such a comprehensive review! Just when I thought I finished planting any more flowering shrubs, I bought a Wedding Gown [Dancing Snow] lace cap hydrangea. 🥰🌸🇨🇦
These videos have helped me so much!!! I appreciate understanding the particular needs and care goals of each and how that relates to the family of that plant as a whole.! Such EXCELLENT information
I’m in southern Illinois across the river from St Louis. We have much the same growing habits as you. Very good info on hydrangeas…wish we lived closer!
Great video! You mentioned being able to thin out macrophylla by cutting them (I think you said by a half), for when they are overgrown. I have that situation…both in a very sunny part of a garden bed (and they are blooming profusely) and in another bed - sunny but a bit less sun - and it’s mostly leaves and very few flowers but overgrown. Do you have a video on that pruning (so afraid to do that to my hydrangeas) or can you give me a few tips? I know you do it later in the season. I’m in zone 7. Thx!
I have ridiculous clay soil. So far one bigleaf hydrangea I planted a few years ago. Doing fantastic. Western exposure with some protection from other plants. I did water a lot last summer but have not even fertilized great plant. Blue..we have acidic soil.
Hi. Thank so much for a great and detailed video. I have some Let's Dance Rythemic Blue Do you think these plants can take full sun? I am in zone 6b 7a Missouri
I live in Zone 5b in Hamilton Ontario and recently bought and planted a PW Let’s Dance Sky View hydrangea that was pink. I want it to be purple so I’ve scraped back the pine mulch and added 1/2 cup of aluminum sulfate crystals to the soil. I have scratched it in. I recovered with mulch and watered. I’ve done this twice in about 4 weeks. It is not changing from pink. 😢what am I not doing right?? 😫😳💔 thank you! Love your channel. I’ve just discovered you recently. ❤
It takes alot of time to change the soil pH. It doesn't happen quickly, it took me over a year for one to bloom blue and even then some blooms are still pink. Try feeding it once a week but have patience. Vicki
Yes it takes time also pine needles will not effect the ph of your soil I have a pine forest on the side of my house and it’s the same ph as the middle of sunny property
I took a bottle of aluminun sulphate back to the store because I refuse to be responsible for adding metal's to the soil. Instead I bought a bag of yellow Sulphur powder.
I love ❤️ your videos!! Thank you for being so informative!! 😊

Give it time. I added Pennie’s 2 yrs ago. Last year, the colour started to change.

How do you get them to be purple ?

What variety are those beautiful pastel pots in the background on the right of the video?
Let's Dance® Sky View®!
I have bought 5 hydrangeas and none of them bloom.!!!!
