"Goody, the gentleman wants a smack."
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Don't you just love it? Though I am not British, I absolutely enjoy their sense of humor.
@@leprem1agreed
"A rubber glove and a large spoon" LOL did you see his face after that🤣🤣🤣
And you get to pick the spoon.
@@russellh8702 hahaha So that is the purpose of it? Makes sense, hahaha
He literally felt the spoon and you know where.
“So I’ll just put total prat, shall I?” is my all time favourite line, it kills me every time😭

Atkinson's command over language is just 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
"a laugh and a stab" that and "fun punching" ..seem to be a lot of that going around this year
And “Statue Scribbling”
I think he robbed the stab line from Blackadder lol. The Black Monk says 'service with a smile and a stab' lol.
All occurring due to supposed peaceful protests
@@scorchfc5516 consistently the factor that makes peaceful protests stop being peaceful (in america at least) is malfeasance from the police force.
Sorley De Cesare CNN journalist reporting peaceful protests with a fucking burning building behind him, and black people in trucks shouting ‘fuck white people’ and ‘kill the police’ with absolutely no police around. STFU you woke liberal
"Go on sir, force it up!"
"I'm trying to force it up!"
Lmao 🤣🤣🤣
He can talk so fluently!
Of course he can talk fluently... Its his mother tongue
He meant, Mr. Bean never speaks. Now he is.
*Nods profusely*
Billionaire Studios he has a speaking disorder
Mr. Glass he has speaking disorder
Every character is superb and acted with its finest quality, extremely hilarious funny comedy , script at its best
Absolutely..brilliant and underrated
Iûûuhhyhgguu
No germans on the set, thats wy.
And full of contempt for working class ppl. That's England for you.
Rowan is comedic genius. He will always be my favourite comedian
Its amazing how masterfully Rowan Atkinson can play polar opposite characters.
Billy Mitchell’s profession listed as total prat seems accurate lol still gets called one on eastenders lol
He's still got a job though lol.... the Peter Beale school of acting survival. :-)
"Crime is crime, should not be trivilaised" 👏
Yes baby
OK boomer
@@Henchman.24 You keep L4D out of this!
Crime is crime bc man has given himself rules to live by. Many "crimes" are only crimes due to poorly representative legislation or implementation.
trivialised. You'll find the English language serves you far better when you use it properly.
One of the best ever sitcoms. Controversial in places but overall so funny and very underrated.
Comedy and controversy equals bigger and better laughs 🤣
@Longrodvonhugendon Too scared to represent society as it really is, maybe.
Average in my book. Not up to atkinsons high standards.
back in the day bbc did good comedy. almost makes the license fee rational.

Rubber glove and a large spoon.... What an expression😂😂😂😂😂😂
Funny how Rowan Atkinson's face as of today is the same, except gray hairs 😄
Goodie was one of the funniest characters on TV I wish this show had got three or four more seasons
The lad with the bruised face plays Carlton Leech in Rise of the Footsoldier...I used to love this, 80s 90s 00s was a brilliant era for TV comedies etc
Ricci hartnet is his name
@@bowers89 yea makes me feel alot older than I am seeing him now, I was around 13 14 watching this...Good Times 💯
I used to have a thing for constable Habin when this first aired and I think I still do. lol.
Ryan sharlotte same here
you should see the actress who played habib sexy now as she was during her time on the thin blue line
constable Habib
@@aritragupta4182 Constable Habib.
Loved it when she dressed as a tart lol
4:09 the lady behind can't hold her laugh
If every policeman was like Inspector Fowler the crime rate would plummet to zero within the year.
Lol I love Patricia in this episode. It's nice to see her have a chance to be a bit of a badass. Love her sarcasm too.
Spelt delinquent wrong in the title.
You'll find the English language serves you far better when you use it properly.
Geez, rustling up your jimmies over a typo.

@@thequeen6960 yeah man I know, right? You can say that again.
Proper English is different then English properly.
The way he handled the guy with the bottle at 2:10 I think is far better crisis handling than what most Hollywood cop movies show.
1:43 The way Rowan Atkinson says “spoon” is amazing.
He's a stutterer, this is why his enunciation of certain words is odd. I used to think he did it for comic effect, but I saw a bts doc on Blackadder and they talked about his speech issues, referring to his famous "Bob" pronunciation.
„And not Wrigley‘s Juicy Fruit“. That line killed me😂
My best line🤣🤣🤣
Can I mention at 2:20 of how cleanly those two guys took the druggy down.
I have been missing this all these years. It's brilliant!
4:40 The way he reacted, you can see the Mr.Bean in him
Some Bizarre uniform branched initiation, cracked me up hard. 😂😂😂
What the man swallowed? A bubblegum flavoured 🐘 😂😂😂
Seriously, we could do with a few more cops like him! Knows what the law is, and is determined to do his bit to see it enforced.
A laugh and a stab. I'm using that.
When he says "Don't call me guv laddie, it's a short step to using cockney rhyming slang", it was like in Blackadder 2 when he said to Percy, "Don't say tush either. Its a short step from tush to hey nonny nonny and then I shall have to call the police". Both were good shows, but Blackadder always had a cunning plan.
Baldrick always had the cunning plan
I have had to buy this series 3 times. Because every time someone has asked to borrow my DVDs to watch. I didn’t get it them back. 😢
Fantastic series. Love it. 😂
Cex have copies
The actor playing the young lout would later go on to improve his range, by playing a violent psycho soldier in '28 Days Later', and a violent psycho bouncer in 'Rise of the Footsoldier', and 'Rise of the Footsoldier II'.
😂😂😂 so good! When we had a dream of social integration and humor was the glue:)
Goody, the gentleman want a smack! I laugh so hard 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Go get him a smack
Its Hilarious
I agree with what he says there. Crime is crime. He also mentioned "it shouldn't be trivialised" but there are different headings for different crimes.
Mr Rowen Atkinson is so funny though. Love his series.
Not sure why these clips are in my recommended at the moment but this series never seemed to get the love it deserves.
Ill have to dig out the
DVD set later :D
I remembered I used love to watched it 1995 .
1:38 NOW THAT RIGHT THERE IS SOLID POLICE WORK, getting right to that kid to reveal what's in his pocket by warning him the consequences of being a rebel, if only officers were like Fowler
You mean abusing their powers by deliberately "suspecting" people of things they have no evidence for?
It's strange because usually Fowler tries to be an example of principled policing.
@@ReddwarfIV Because they're the police, it's their JOB to suspect, and if you keep using the old "let people have their way" all you get is more chaos, and what kind of abuse? Like he beat the kid with a baton until he convinced
@@jackgold5957 In another episode, Fowler explains that he cannot make an exception for Goody because he cannot take an action that would destroy the public's trust in the police.
In this episode, he uses the threat of a drug search despite having no basis to perform one, to coerce a person into accepting a search they would not otherwise have agreed to.
All to find out that the kid had a ball point pen and a condom. You can't even justify it based on results.
This was Fowler deliberately misusing police powers, an action that definitely erodes trust.
@@ReddwarfIV So basically what you're going through is that cops shouldn't use intimidation methods on obnoxious and rebellious youths who have no idea what's right from wrong because it's an abuse of power? Hey, wake up, if the cops don't make the kids know there are laws and there are restrictions, you'd see cities and even states ruled by gangs.
And furthermore I can fully justify Fowler's quick and witty way of letting this youth know who's the one with the badge, you know why? Because he didn't use any kind of physical force, and secondly, I congratulate him for it, I'd rather live in a community where kids have to learn the hard way about how things go than thinking they can do whatever on the streets and get away with it
@@jackgold5957 Teaching kids to respect laws and restrictions by having the police blatantly flout laws and restrictions right in front of them. Great plan.
The youth involved had already been caught for taking without owner's consent. He can receive his punishment for that. Subjecting him to illegal searches will not make him any less obnoxious or rebellious, only reinforce the view that the system isn't fair or just.
It is indeed a shame, if you only know Rowan Atkinson as mr. Bean.
Edmund Blackadder?
Abdirahman-Saacid Mohamed Yes, and Not The Nine O´Clock News. He is amazing with words.
Good thing I was looking for more stuff on Rowan's works later on
People who know Rowan Atkinson for something besides Mr. Bean have at least seen Johnny English and/or The Lion King.
I'm pretty sure it's only insular Americans who would know Atkinson for Mr Bean and not know the genius (except for series one, which was rubbish) that is Blackadder.
he is literally like the cross between inspector clouseau from the pink panther movie, and mr bean
Lol
So they predicted "Happy slapping" 1:10
I love Atkinson in his sour-faced, withering comments roles!
Constable Goody's expression @2:32 is Mister-Bean-esque.
1:44 the way Rowan says spoon 😅
Never ending the great Mr. Bean !
Continue......repeat ... continue
Salute 😂
wish they made programs as good as this these days
The smooth talking god has returned
So underrated - brilliant
British comedy is the best. You really have to listen
Wonderful loved Goody brilliant. When he was choking 😂😂😂
When he choked the gum 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Four,Six,Eight,GOODY NO WAIT"
Having watch a lot of Mr. Bean, it's weird seeing Rowan Atkinson speak 😂
4:45 the man who got a black eye in the wedding episode 😂
From a time when comedy was King and people had a sense of humour, common sense and intelligent, independent thought, and could recognise sitcoms, such as this, for what they were: genius comedy and highly entertaining with zero hidden agenda.
Brilliant programme. The best. Where is Ben Elton?? He is a marvel
Intelligent Police officer and at the same time he so funny😂😂
The Best comedy I've ever seen, superb.
Omg! Billy Mitchell!
Hhh
Patrick Trueman ( Rudolph Walker) is one of the main cast!
He's such a sap in everything
I think besides enjoying funny and entertaining movie, I think this maybe the best movie for me to learn good English that spoken especially from Rowan Atkinson, their pronunciation damn good and how they play around with language, I recommend this to those English learner, salute
I agree. Love this show. I think it's really well written, funny & entertaining plus I love that while watching it I have had to look up the meaning of a few words.....laugh and learn. Peace.
Habib is so pretty & chief ( Bean ) is always so perfect 🤩
Love the accent😅
Now May 2023 and still funny. 😅😂❤
You know, Rowan Atkinson could have played a great Rimmer from "Red Dwarf."
This is the original Brooklyn 99...in England. Original Raymond lol
That arrest was quite brave of Goody!
I love this show!

Underrated, along with "Is It Legal?"
1:23: it's Perry Fenwick ( Billy Mitchell in EastEnders!)
I know lol, and before I was watching old episodes of the Brittas Empire and noticed he was in an episode of that too, from round about the same time as this ep of the thin blue line.
He also played the main character in the film Quadrophenia. Then went onto the eastenders.
It’s Billy Mitchell!🤣
"branch initiating" lol
Who is watching this when the "fun punching" is going on on the streets of London?
My favorite comedian
James Dreyfus is so underrated nowadays
Wasnt he in notting hill Sarah 😊
"Yes sir,can i help..??
They should make a movie of this
My favorite part of this scene is When goody chokes on a piece of gum. Now in my experience I swallowed a lot of gum in my life but I never choked on a piece before. I believe the reason why Goody is choking is because he had more than one piece of gum in his mouth. “Great heavens what has the man swallowed a bubble gum flavored elephant!?” Lol 😂
J'adore beaucoup !!!!!!!!!!
This is hilarious 😂
His acting here was some of his early work, that eventually developed into the Johnny English Character.
You'd fall out of your chair laughing if you've seen his stand-up at the Secret Policeman's Ball as the acerbic school master.
Johnny English came from a series of credit card adverts
This was filmed in the mid 90's. Rowan Atkinson had starred in not the 9 o'clock news plus all 4 series of blackadder by this point. Hardly cutting his teeth.
Omg Billy Mitchell is there! That's crazy!
Patrick Trueman’s there too, as one of the police ( not sure if he’s in this clip, but he’s in the series).
@@alexanderjones9572 yeah man love Patrick
0:20 man... Jethalal got lost in England while back on his trip there
As far as excitement goes, it IS hard to top "King Solomon's Mines." Especially the part when a British man that looks/is dressed like a Viking berserker gets in an axe fight with an African tribal warlord.
Rowan Atkinson rocks
I love this show.
absolutely funny😂😂

Mr. Bean is looking nice in police uniform, if he show his strictness on his face, then he is fit for James Bond
Well, there were the Johnny English movies...
The young delinquent... is that the same guy who plays carlton leech in rise of the foot soldier?
Why does Kevin look like he's smiling when he's choking? 🤣
Fantabulous
Rowan Atkinson is a legend
Great show super nice I like it
They should bring this back it is so funny
They predicted the happy slapping trend of 2000
Brilliant 👍🇬🇧
